Affiliate partners, with access to the Enterprise Partner Feed, will find a new format of the iTunes and App Store metadata now available for use - country and media type specific flat files. Named EPF-Flat, this format is aimed towards affiliate partners who need only a small subset of the metadata that is offered by the previous data feed.

After expanding the .tbz based source file EPF-Flat is a tab separated text file that should be easier to use for queries where country and media type stay consistent. EPF-Flat files are currently available for music, TV episodes and apps for 23 stores world wide.

Using your EPF credentials log in at http://feeds.itunes.apple.com/feeds/, then navigate to epf-flat -> v1 -> full to choose the country you wish to download the files from. The countries are presented as their three letter country codes.

The previous format, where expanded could be used to build a relational database, is now called EPF-Relational and is still available in its new format (.tbz). http://feeds.itunes.apple.com/feeds/epf/v3/full/

Further information about Enterprise Partner Feed (EPF) - The Enterprise Partner Feed is a data feed of the complete set of metadata from iTunes and the App Store. It is available for affiliate partners to fully incorporate aspects of the iTunes and App Store catalogs into a web site or app. The EPF is available in two different formats - either as the files necessary to build a relational database or as stand-alone flat files that are country and media dependent.

EPF-Relational consists of four files that when expanded can be ingested to build a relational database. This format is directed towards tech-savvy affiliate partners who can ingest, build and maintain a database and need information for either multiple media types or for multiple storefronts.

The EPF-Flat data feeds are separate files for music, movies or apps as well as for each storefront. These feeds are directed towards slightly less technical partners who only need a subset of the metadata for a specific media type for a specific country. The EPF-Flat files can be used as a stand alone documents and do not require ingestion into a database to be used.

Access to both formats requires login credentials and an active partnership with the affiliate program. Partners wishing to apply for access can do so by emailing EPFrequest@apple.com with the primary account holders contact info, proof of being active with the affiliate program and a short description explaining how you intend to use the EPF.
