iTunes Sync Screenshot and iPhone

Dialed-in syncing.

From the moment you connect your iPhone to your computer, iTunes is at your service. It walks you through the syncing process step by step, helping you transfer information and media to your new iPhone.

Calendars and contacts

Sync calendars and contacts.

iTunes makes address book syncing one-click simple: Choose individual groups or choose “all contacts” to keep your entire contacts list with you wherever you go. iTunes also syncs your calendar events from Yahoo! Calendars on a Mac or PC, iCal or Entourage on a Mac, or Outlook on a PC. Any new calendar events and contacts sync back to your computer the next time you sync your iPhone.

Mail and bookmarks

Sync email accounts and bookmarks.

iPhone supports industry-standard IMAP and POP email services and many of the most popular email clients. Your email account settings import and sync through iTunes, and you can have multiple email accounts on your iPhone. iTunes also syncs your Safari or Internet Explorer bookmarks to iPhone.

Music and video

Sync music and video.

iPhone syncing works just like iPod syncing to transfer your favorite music playlists, movies, movie rentals, TV shows, and video podcasts from iTunes. The iPhone summary screen tells you exactly how much space is available for your media, so you can sync accordingly.

Photos

Sync photos.

iTunes works with iPhoto on a Mac or Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Photoshop Album on a Windows PC to sync snapshots and slideshows to iPhone. Pick the albums you want to view on your iPhone, and iTunes formats and syncs your photos.

Get software updates.

iTunes makes it easy to update the software on your iPhone. The summary page features a software version tracker and updater. If your software is out of date, click to update it — or to restore your iPhone to its original settings.

Applications

Sync applications.

The App Store is coming soon to iPhone. But you’ll also be able to shop for applications on your computer. Then, with a click, you can sync all of your new games and other great apps back to your iPhone via iTunes.

Sync less with MobileMe.

Subscribe to MobileMe and you won’t ever have to sync your email, calendar, or contacts. With MobileMe, all your data is pushed to the MobileMe “cloud.” The cloud then pushes everything to your Mac, PC, or iPhone so you have the latest information with you no matter where you go. Learn more
