Work at Apple is extremely rewarding, "because each person has a chance to help shape the company and what it produces." says Eric, Product Engineering.
Shaping such a dynamic company has its challenges. According to Brian, Input Engineer, "Apple is an incredibly challenging place to work and the level of creativity is intoxicating. Other than working at a small start-up company I've never worked anywhere else that had such a passionate drive from its employees.
We believe if it's too easy, someone else will do it, or already has. Real innovation takes hard work, and in the end sets us apart from everyone else.
The teams at Apple are top notch and pull talent from many disciplines." And to keep things interesting, he says, "My day-to-day work varies tremendously. Some days I am involved in the detailed technical discussions concerning development of new technologies or integrating those technologies into compelling product demos. Often I meet cross-functionally with industrial design, product design, and software engineering to work on everything from new product brainstorming to implementation of a final product."
Everyone at Apple is poised to meet challenges and exceed expectations. And, more often than not, they have fun in their job. "I had the best time working on the first G5 tower," says Helen, Product Engineer. "I co-located in China to collaborate with the vendor to develop their skills in new cosmetic finishing requirements. It was a real partnership. We were there to make sure they understood Apple's quality requirements and to hold them to a schedule and to come up with creative solutions when we were faced with time constraints. This vendor had a huge learning curve to overcome, so the final product we delivered together was very impressive."
