iPhone Lead Carrier Certification Engineer
Job description
- Leads technical approval of our products with Cellular Carriers. Primary responsibility will be to coordinate and support the carrier certification engineering team’s efforts. The candidate will also organize field testing of new release and products. Assists in the investigation of issues reported by the carrier’s customers and field personnel.
Required Experience
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Education/Training:
- Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering
- Strong technical training relating to Hardware and Software testing
- Technical understanding and experience with GSM/GPRS, Edge, CDMA and UMTS.
- Must have:
- Led Technical Acceptance through to commercialization with cellular carriers
- Team leadership and project management experience, supporting internal collaboration and positive customer relations
- Extensive knowledge of key wireless communication technologies
- Field and Interoperability testing experience of key wireless communication technologies
- Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills, tailored to situation and audience
- Ability to manage relationships across functional areas and with carrier teams at the operational/professional level
- Proven issue tracking skills, with the ability to prioritize, analyze and interpret associated risk
- Understanding of the ‘Certification Criteria’ for the International Voluntary and Regulatory Certification Schemes
- Able to travel internationally
- Business-level fluency in English and Japanese, verbal and written
- Should have:
- Familiarity with WiFi/BT and other wireless technologies
- Ability to recommend strategy/methodologies on teams assignments drawing from past experiences
- Experience of mentoring and supervising team on specific projects, technologies and process adherence
- Nice to have:
- System integration experience
- Experience with Regulatory approvals
- Fluency in other major languages
