This easy-to-use software lets you convert the music on your music CDs to MP3 format (compressing CD-quality audio files to about a tenth of their original size with very little loss in audible quality) simply by clicking a button. These significantly smaller file sizes enable you to store many more songs on your G4 Cube’s hard disk drive.   Burning music CDs is fine, you say, but what about data? The G4 Cube gives you the power to do that, too — and just as easily. Because the G4 Cube has a nifty application called Disc Burner that makes burning a music or data CD a piece of cake.   Insert a blank CD in the CD-RW drive, name it in the dialog box that appears — and presto, the icon for your CD pops up on your desktop. Now simply drag and drop the files and folders you want recorded on the CD icon, choose Burn CD from the Special menu, and Disc Burner works its magic.   Make your own movies with iMovie 2 Given the G4 Cube’s multimedia virtuosity, you might even find yourself using your MP3 or MIDI files to score your own Desktop Movies. With iMovie, a friendly interface lets you edit video clips of those special moments in your life in pristine digital quality. You can add transitions, animated on-screen titles and voice-over narration, and even jazz your movies up with music before burning them to CDs for sharing with family and friends.   What’s inside The Power Mac G4 Cube is loaded with software, including Mac OS 9.1, iTunes, iMovie 2, QuickTime, AppleWorks, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook Express, Netscape Communicator and some really engaging 3D games.   The hardware is top-notch: The 450MHz Power Mac G4 Cube comes with 128MB of high-performance RAM (expandable up to 1.5GB), 1MB of backside level 2 cache, 20GB Ultra ATA/66 hard disk drive, and the ATI RAGE 128 Pro graphics card with 16MB of graphics memory installed in a dedicated AGP 2X graphics slot.
