Office v. X. Microsoft designed Word X for Mac specifically for Mac
OS X, but its file format is completely compatible with its Word for Windows
siblings. That means it’s easy to share your home, business and school
documents with others while taking advantage of the program’s unique
Mac features.
Word X offers a number of advanced tools to help you create professional documents, letters, Web pages and other printed or online material. Use the Data Merge Manager combined with the Office Address Book to create form letters, labels, envelopes or catalogues within a single window. Word for Mac also lets you add hyperlinks to a document for easy export to the Web.
