Set Up MobileMe

  1. Get the latest software.

    • Download and install the latest version of iTunes (v10.3 or later).
    • Connect your iPad to your computer, launch iTunes, go to the iTunes Summary tab, and then click “Update.”
    • Follow onscreen instructions to upgrade to the latest version of iOS (4.2 or later), if you haven’t already. For more information about system requirements, click here.
    • For the best experience, connect your device to a Wi-Fi network.

  2. Enable MobileMe push synchronization.

    • On your Home screen, tap Settings.
    • Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    • Make sure Fetch New Data is set to Push.
    • Tap Add Account and choose MobileMe.
    • Enter your MobileMe account information, then tap Next.
    • Turn on Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, Notes.

      • Important: If prompted, choose “Merge with MobileMe” to make sure the data already on your device syncs with MobileMe and is not duplicated.

  3. Turn on Find My iPad.

    • Turn on Find My iPad* to let you find your device on a map at me.com/find.
    • Tap Save.
    • Turn on Passcode Lock so only you can turn Find My iPad on and off:
      • Tap Settings.
      • Tap General, then Passcode Lock.
      • Enter a passcode and confirm.
      • Important: Find My iPad enables you to locate your iPad only when it is on and connected to a registered Wi-Fi network or has an active 3G data plan. Learn more

Now that you’ve completed the steps above...

In a few minutes, your email, contacts, and calendars on your iPad will be available at me.com and will stay in sync with any other devices you set up.

Mail

You can send and receive messages from your MobileMe email address using the Mail app on your iPad.

iDisk

You can view and share files right from your iPad. Just install the MobileMe iDisk app from the App Store.

Find My iPhone

You can locate your misplaced device directly from another iPad. Just install the MobileMe Find My iPhone app from the App Store.

Contacts, Calendar, Safari

Your contacts, calendars, and bookmarks always stay in sync, over the air.

Photos

You can upload photos from your iPad to your MobileMe gallery in just a few taps. And install the MobileMe Gallery app from the App Store to flick through your entire gallery on the go.
