Setting up Microsoft Outlook Express with MobileMe Mail

Outlook Express 6 (XP Only)

  1. In the Tools menu, choose Accounts.
  2. Click the Add button and choose Mail.
  3. Type the name you would like others to see when you send email. When you’re finished, click Next.
  4. Enter your MobileMe email address and click Next.
  5. Enter the following server information. When you’re finished, click Next.
    Incoming mail server type: IMAP
    Incoming mail server: mail.me.com
    Outgoing mail server: smtp.me.com

  6. Enter your MobileMe member name and password and click Next. Do not select “Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).” Outlook Express Email Name and Password Screenshot
  7. Click Finish. From the Internet Accounts window, select your mail account and click Properties.
  8. Click the Servers tab and check “My server requires authentication.” Click OK.
  9. When asked if you would like to download folders from the mail server you added, choose Yes. To show or hide a folder in Outlook Express, select it and click Show or Hide. To change your folder views in the future, select your MobileMe account and go to Tools > IMAP Folders.
