How will the recipient be notified?

You can choose to send the first allowance payment right away or wait until the first of the month to send the first allowance payment. After that, you will be billed for the allowance on the first of the month.

iTunes Store Allowances can be used to purchase music and audio books from the iTunes Store. At this time, we cannot accept allowance funds for purchases on the Apple Store.

My allowance credit didn't arrive this month.

If your allowance unexpectedly stopped arriving, the card holder's credit card may have expired. iTunes will send an email to the card holder automatically alerting them to this issue. Next, check to make sure you sign in to the iTunes Store using the Apple ID the purchaser specified when they set up the allowance.

Does the recipient need to have a credit card?

No, if you are the recipient, you do not need a credit card to use your allowance. If you do not provide your credit card information, you will only be able to purchase up to your allowance limit each month. If you do provide your credit card information, you will be able to purchase above your allowance limit. Your credit card will be charged for the difference.

How much money is left on my allowance?

When you are signed in, your account balance is in the upper right hand corner of your iTunes Store window next to your username. Unused allowance funds roll over from month to month.

Can I move my allowance to a different account?

Allowances cannot be moved from one account to another. To access your allowance, you must sign in with the iTunes Store account specified when your allowance was set up.
