Best numeric keypad ever! (plus installation instructions)

A couple of weeks ago, I replaced it with the Belkin keypad, and I'm extremely pleased with it. You hit ANY key and it wakes up, it uses two longer-lasting AA batteries just like the Apple keyboard does, the batteries are very easy to change, it's made of solid metal and the keys have a great feel to them. I use this keypad every day almost exclusively with Quicken, the Windows accounting software I use for my business. A real bonus is that the keypad works flawlessly with Parallels and Windows, whether you're working on the Mac or Windows side. I also appreciate the inclusion of a redundant Delete key (so you don't have to switch between the keypad and the main keyboard to make corrections), and also the "magnifying glass" key which takes you straight to the search box in your current app without having to use the mouse. Belkin made a HUGE mistake with the quick-start installation leaflet... when you first pair the keypad, OS X will ask you to press the key to the right of the Shift key in order to auto-identify the keyboard, and of course the keypad doesn't have a Shift key. You simply click Continue (which Belkin fails to tell you) and manually select "US/ANSI" as the keyboard type. Unfortunately, many people have rated this keypad with only one or two stars, reflecting their frustration with setting it up. It really is much better than the ratings imply, as long as you know the magic secret to setting it up. I hope Belkin corrects the quick-start leaflet in the future.

As a graphic designer I can move it away when using the mouse for long periods and avoid RSI which a long keyboard was giving me. The when I need to work more with type I can put the extension next to the main keyboard and have all the really useful keys which don't appear on the main board. As an experienced mac user for the last 18 years it works for me.

After changed a new batteries, the number pad just function without any problem. the only thing i dislike is the DELETE button is not as function as backspace. therefore, you have to move your finger back to your mac keyboard if you want to delete the number you have entered wrongly. and of course the price is too high for this product.
