    Good case.......For a while!

    • Written by from Bognor Regis

Case was brilliant at first but a Year on it has quiet literally fallen to pieces. The same as the other reviews on here the case is gradually splitting all the way around and the iPad falls out. If Apple can make something as good as an IPad then surely they would be able to make a case. I can only assume at £40 quid these cases are manufactured to fail. Disappointed!

    Cheap

Very disappointed in this case. The bottom came apart and now my iPad doesn't even stay in. Spls out the bottom. I tried reglueing it and that didn't work. Not worth $50.

    Terrible

    • Written by from London

Large spaces around the corners so iPad constantly comes out. What's worse, this is meant to hold the iPad up as a stand but it doesn't - iPad constantly falls which once caused my iPad screeen to shatter.

Case has delaminated (top & bottom seperating)

    • Written by from EAST OLYMPIA

The case is generally a good item.
However, the case has delaminated on the two short sides.
The sealed seam between the top and bottom halves of the case have come apart.
I'm ashamed of Apple for this shoddy product.
I have "super glued" the two halves back together, but it is at best a poor fix for the problem.
Would not consider buying another one.
Have just ordered an Otterbox Defender hard case.
I love my Apple products, but this one is terrible.
C'mon Apple! For the premium prices you charge and which we willingly pay, YOU CAN & SHOULD DO A BETTER JOB.

It has gone very very loose after few months

    • Written by from Punta Arenas

Like many other reviewers here, mine is falling apart after just barely six months of moderate/low use. At the beginning had a nice tight fit, but now my ipad air is sleeping out. Ver bad price/quality ratio.

    Disappointing in the long term

    • Written by from Wattisfield

The fold back lid is a good idea since it switches the iPad on and off. But the case is not comfortable to hold one-handed. The folded back lid unbalances the iPad. It also picks up dust as the felt is exposed to whatever the device is laid on. On the plus side, it had (repeat had) a quality feel. The case seemed well made and was fine for the first few months, but is now falling apart. As time has gone on it has got looser and looser. The frame around the screen is now splitting from the base. The lid switches can no longer be guaranteed unless the iPad is left lying flat. The iPad is now falling out of the case all the time. I need to replace the case. It won't be with the official Apple one - especially at the price.

    Amazing

    • Written by from Leicester

Although it may not be as stylish as other cases, it does an amazing job. I've had my case for over 1 year now and my iPad has not got a single scratch. It fits very well and provides a great amount of protection inside and out due to the soft fabric lining on the inside. Although it's quite expensive, it's worth it in the long run as you wont need to ever replace the case. Highly recommend!

    Poor Quality Apple Product

    • Written by from Huntington Beach

Apple should recall and redesign these cases or at least stop selling them. The cover and case both delaminate from each other and is certainly not Apple quality. Some how this product slipped by Apples quality control team, because it is certainly NOT a Apple product to buy.

    iPad Smart Case

    • Written by from Milwaukee

I bought this case immediately after I received my iPad(4th gen). After using the case for 2 years I changed it into another Smart Case and, honestly, I can say that that is the best thing happened to my gadget. It defends it pretty well, so you can be sure about the reliability of the iPad.I really enjoy using this wonderful case!

    I pad smart case

    • Written by from whitehouse

I also loved my iPad smart case until it started falling apart. I used E5000 craft glue after I pulled the remaining adhesive strip off. E5000 is a flexible adhesive that can be purchased at most craft stores. So far, so good! Use sparingly because it is powerful stuff! I do have to say, however, for what they cost, they should not fall apart like they do!

    Does not last

    • Written by from Altrincham

I loved it when I got it, but two years on, it is literally falling apart at the seams. I don't even use the iPad all day, this is not customer damage or reasonable wear and tear, this is shoddy goods. For the price I paid from the apple shop I expected a lot better. It is now worse than useless. Very, very disappointed. If you read this Apple, you have my email address feel free to contact me.

    iPad Mini disaster

    • Written by from Bognor Regis

The expensive Apple smart case has gradually loosened to the stage where my son called me distraught to tell me his 128gb iPad mini had fallen out of the case and the screen is cracked and badly damaged .
Luckily the iPad still works fine but come on Apple this is an expensive gadget which I now need to get a screen replacement.
Why are you making such rubbish .
I nearly bought one for my iPad Air 2? Luckily I got a Twevle South Book Book one.
I'm getting one for his too after repair.

    Shoddy goods

    • Written by from Glasgow

After 1 year of use the case started to lose its colour, stretched and the iPad popped out a few times but now, 2 years later, the whole thing has split at the seams. Not good for £40. Never will I buy another Apple case. I'll just go for the compatible cheaper options in future! Wish I could post the photos of damage!

Solution for case becoming unglued at the seams

    • Written by from Annapolis

I put four staples into my ipad case, each staple as near as possible to the corners of the case, but not on the curves. The staples have to be put on the outer rim of the case, just outside of the magnetic rim that is inside the polyurethane. One staple per corner. Now my ipad doesn't fall out anymore.

    Didn't last

    • Written by from Cornwall

I have had a Smart Cover in Apple Red for two years, and it started coming apart on the side about 6 months ago. I glued it back together and it lasted for a while, but now has come apart on both sides, and the iPad is loose. I had it personalized, so am upset that I paid 50$ for a case that I will no longer be able to use. Up to the point of it falling apart, I liked the feel of it and the fact that you can just close it to close your iPad. I never did like the folding stand, found it to be tippy, and it is hard to keep clean. I think if it wasn't so expensive I would purchase another one, as it protects well from scratches and drops. I feel that a product with the apple logo should last longer than a year and a half.

Good cover but there is a durability issue

    • Written by from Merimbula

Since purchasing my iPad two I have had two of these covers and am about to buy my third. Why am I buying a third cover? Because, even though it does a great job protecting the iPad (I travel with it packed away on a motorbike) and the fit is very good, the cover eventually splits around the edges and the back separates from the front cover. I have only managed to get about 12 months use out of the cover before it needs replacing.

    Comes apart

    • Written by from Bellaire

I've had this iPad case for 3 years, and the whole thing is coming apart. It's very bad quality and certainly not worth the price. It also gets dirty very easily and is difficult to clean.
