  • What is included in complimentary coverage for Mac and iPod?

  • Coverage for Mac includes one year of standard warranty and 90 days of complimentary telephone technical support. iPod coverage includes one year of standard warranty and a single incident of complimentary telephone technical support.
  • What does the AppleCare Protection Plan cover?

  • The AppleCare Protection Plan is a comprehensive solution. Because Apple makes the hardware, the OS, and applications, the AppleCare Protection Plan (for Mac) covers your hardware and Mac OS, plus iLife and iWork. Most importantly, the AppleCare Protection Plan is backed by Apple — the people who know your Mac best. If you have any questions, or need service or support, just one phone call can help resolve most of your issues.

    The AppleCare Protection Plan for iPod covers your iPod, iTunes, iPod battery, and included accessories. Whether you use a Mac or a PC, you get direct access to expert telephone tech support. If you need hardware service Apple-authorized technicians will repair it or provide a replacement.

  • What products apply to the AppleCare Protection Plan?

  • The AppleCare Protection Plan applies to Apple displays, iPods and Mac (iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro, MacBook and MacBook Pro). AppleCare Protection Plan is required for each separately covered product.
  • Does the AppleCare Protection Plan cover Apple displays?

  • Customers who purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan for Mac mini, Mac Pro and MacBook Pro may also register one Apple display for additional coverage when the display and the Mac are purchased at the same time.

    The AppleCare Protection Plan also covers an AirPort Extreme Card, AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme Base Station, and Apple RAM when used with a Mac covered by the AppleCare Protection Plan.
  • What if I purchase two or more Apple displays with a Mac mini, Mac Pro or MacBook Pro?

  • One display is covered under the AppleCare Protection Plan. You can purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan for Apple Display to extend coverage for the second display.
  • Does the AppleCare Protection Plan also cover telephone technical support for Apple software?

  • It covers iLife and iWork.
  • What does the “global repair coverage” mean? Can I purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan anywhere?

  • If you carry your Apple computer or iPod when you travel and happen to need repair service, AppleCare Protection Plan offers global repair coverage. You can either go to an Apple retail store or contact Apple, and they’ll provide you with specific information on how to obtain service.

  • What service options does the AppleCare Protection Plan offer?

  • Apple may provide service through one or more of the following options: carry-in (Apple authorised service providers), direct mail-in or onsite (for desktop computers).
  • How does the direct mail-in service option work?

  • What kind of parts does the AppleCare Protection Plan use for repair?

  • Apple-authorised technicians use genuine Apple parts for repair service. Genuine Apple parts may include new, used or refurbished parts.
  • Is the AppleCare Protection Plan transferable?

  • Yes, the AppleCare Protection Plan is transferable. When you give your iPod or Mac to your friends or family, you can also transfer the ownership of the AppleCare Protection Plan. Please see the AppleCare Protection Plan Terms & Conditions for complete details.
  • Can I purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan anytime?

  • You can purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan anytime within the first-year standard warranty period. The AppleCare Protection Plan coverage starts from your hardware purchase date (for either Mac or iPod). We strongly recommend that you purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan when you purchase your Apple system to maximise the advantages of the plan.
  • When I purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan, do I need to register it?

  • Yes, you need to register your AppleCare Protection Plan. Your AppleCare Protection Plan coverage starts from your hardware purchase date. Registering your AppleCare Protection Plan at a later date does not extend your coverage. In fact, there are many benefits to registering your AppleCare Protection Plan as soon as you purchase it:
  1. After you register, Apple will have your hardware, AppleCare Protection Plan, and personal information on file. When you contact Apple for service or support, Apple can pull your file right away and start addressing your issue rather than spending time validating your eligibility.
  2. Registered AppleCare Protection Plan customers contact Apple to check their coverage, repair status and remaining days.
  • How do I register my AppleCare Protection Plan?

  • If your purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan at the same time as your Mac, iPod or Apple Display from the Apple online store, Apple will register the AppleCare Protection Plan for you automatically.

    If you purchase your AppleCare Protection Plan and your covered Mac, iPod, or Apple Display separately or elsewhere, you can register your AppleCare Protection Plan at www.apple.com.au/support/register or contact Apple at the phone number included in your AppleCare Protection Plan package.   • Where can I purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan?
