Inside the case is a felt material to prevent any scratches to the iPad casing. As well, the touch and feel of the silicone is very smooth and certainly feels like premium material. Having said that, you'll want to make sure you're buying this case with the apple smart keyboard in mind, otherwise, you'll be missing protection on the side where apple has made room for the keyboard to connect.

      Miss the leather cases

Plus I do not like this material at all. I wouldn't mind paying that kind of money if it were leather like the iPad Air 2 smart cases. Those cases are totally Apple quality. This really needs a leather option. The soft feeling silicone feels like the "soft touch" plastic they put on cheap knock off Chinese electronics. Swing and a miss for Apple on this one. What was Jony thinking?

Silky Smooth = slick for some

The feel is baby soft, but if you have naturally acetic or oily hands like me, combined with the weight of this iPad, you may feel you need a rubber product with more grip. So, before spending the money, I suggest seeking out a store product demonstration. Now, keep in mind that the additional purchase of the Smart Cover or Smart Keyboard completes the personalized choice of your iPad's look, and if I may say, is one 'sexy' combination with the Silicone Case. FYI, I chose the Smart Keyboard and wipe down everything with lense wipes a few times per day. I am satisfied.

      Bad corners!!!!!!!

I don't write reviews but this is messed up, how you pay a lot of money for a product that can't even last a year.

      Intentionally Short Lifespan

At the time, it was the best option out of a very small selection. For the first 3 months, I had no complaints other than the extremely high price for a cheap case. After 3 months, the iPad started "lifting" out of the case where it makes contact with the Apple Smart Keyboard. Not only that, but at each of the points where apple included a space or hole for the headphone jack, speakers or lightning connector, the silicone started peeling away and the plastic edge snapped. So, for $80, I received 3 months of average protection for the back of my iPad before it started unraveling. I'm a teacher, so this case hasn't been put through anything other that what apple would consider "typical use". If a product cant last more than a year, Apple shouldn't be selling it and this appears to be yet another example of Apple using their reputation to sell cheap, poor quality products. It's very upsetting to see a company that used to produce a small handful of really good quality products, fall to victim to the same over-expansive policies as the other tech giants. Needless to say, after the iPhone 6 leather case having the exact same quality issues, this will be the last supplemental Apple product I ever buy.

Terrible case. Corners break down and crack

For what they charge for this case, it is a shame that they could not have engineered it better. First of all, the top and back should not be sold separately as For what they charge for this case, it is a shame that they could not have engineered it better. First of all, the top and back should not be sold separately as it simply puts the cost of this silicone cover over the top for what you get. The feel of the silicone is not especially pleasing to.me, however I have seen some that seem to think it's okay. The fit of this case to the iPad is really good as it should be having been made by Apple. The worst thing about this is that the corners of the back portion of the case are all cracking open. This iPad gets light use as I have two iPads, has never been dropped and I never remove the back cover. The corners are just falling apart. This is NOT something I expect to get from Apple, this is relative to some generic garbage I may buy on an auction site for about 19.95. Apple should step up to the plate and replace these desintigrating covers for all the folks that it is happening to for what they are charging. My other smaller iPad has the Apple leather cover as does my iPhone and I love those. Apple can't get it together to design something better for their flagship iPad than this tombstone gray silicone cover that falls apart? Really?
