    No. When you upgrade the OS, your apps should continue to function without reinstalling them.

    If in doubt... clone your current OS partition to another bootable partition. Then only upgrade one of the partitions to Snow Leopard. You can then start up in either OS, until you are happy that all apps continue to function as they should in Snow Leopard. (They should, but whenever I do a major upgrade of my OS, I use a cloned partition in case something should happen and I need to start up in the older OS. Been doing major OS upgrades this way since the late 1980s.)
