i have mac os x 5.8, i cant download the mac app store in order to get lion, and sync all with i cloud. any help?

    Unfortunately, having that version of OS X (same as I have...) you can only upgrade to Lion either by buying the Lion USB Thumb flash drive (for 69$) or by updating first to Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) - by buying the CD-Rom for 29$, and then updating to Lion via the mac app store (which is only available to OS X from Snow Leopard on) for another 29$ (coming on 58$ total).
    It's kind of a bummer: you have to get an OS (that you are not going to use!!) to get another... So far Apple hasn't made any other options available.
