When you install Snow Leopard, it should actually free up a lot of space. At least, that's what everyone's experience has been so far. One of the improvements of Leopard is the boost in efficiency. That's why they chose the word "snow" -- it's lighter.

  • I think it deletes the older OS and writes in the new one...I put it on my MacBook and when i installed it I had 80GB free and when it finished, I still had 80GB left, so I guess so...

  • You will reclaim hard drive space by installing 10.6, It will not be the same for everybody but it can range between 7gb and 15gb of space depending on the age of the system.
