will this use the same ip range as my modem as my modem is plugged into a 48 port gigabit switch and i bought this to add to my switch

i want to make sure that all my wireless devices are all using the same ip range

  • Okay so you want to avoid ip conflict, especially when using multiple devices, do this by editing your DHCP settings.

    If your switch is 192.168.1.1, make it so it will only distribute IP's in the range of 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.60

    Then, on your router, which you want plugged into your switch, make it so it will only give out IP's in the range of 192.168.1.61 - 192.168.1.254.

    You will never have more than 48 connections in the switch anyways and then the new router gets the rest.
