I know this works with an iPad Pro 12.9" with the USB=C lighting connector. However, will it safely charge a regular iPad or iPhone?

This power adapter can deliver either 14.5V 2.0A (for a MacBook that supports this adapter or an iPad Pro 12.9") or 5.2V 2.4A (for any other devices).

2.4A is the same as a 12W adapter.

So, for normal Apple devices like iPhone, iPad Air, Pro 9.7" or Mini - this should work exactly as a 12W power adapter (which is also rated 5.2V 2.4A).

  • Yes it will but it won't charge a regular iPad or iPhone any faster than a standard charger.
