G-Technology 1TB G-DRIVE Mobile Portable Hard Drive - USB 3.0 is incompatible with Window 10?

I am planning to buy G-Technology G-Drive for my videos. I have recorded quite a number of them and I realised that I could not save them to my USB thumbdrive. So, I decided to try out with G-technology as it provides 1 TB memory for my video files.

Before I buy the G-drive, I wanted to try it out with my friend's G-Drive. He has bought this drive and I have tried to plug the G-Technology 1TB G-Drive into my laptop that is operated on Window 10. But I could not see any prompt that requires me to access the T-Drive at all. I tried to search the Window Explorer to find this drive but I could not find it. But when I tried to plug it to my MacBook, I could access this drive. Can you please advise me on this issue?

If I were to buy this G-Drive, should I need to reformat this drive to ensure that this drive can be compatible with both Mac OS (El Capitan) and WIndow (Window 10 and above)?

Please advise.
