Can the Apple TV use a 5 ghz wifi signal ?

    Yes it can,although it doesn't support the latest ac-protocol but it can recognize and connect to a 5ghz band under the n-protocol,today casually I purchased an apple tv and it had no problem connecting to my dual band router,it recognized and connect to both 2.4 and 5ghz bands.Hope I helped you,take care.

  • Yes, it can. But it causes lot of troubles such as problems when playing music from iPad/iPhone or much slower network speed when streaming movies resulting in stops-and-goes. Switching to 2 GHz solves the problem.
