    Love it!

I love this keyboard! I have been using it since it first came out (three years ago in 2007!). It takes a little while to get used to it because it is so thin, but afterwards, you can't go back to a regular keyboard.

I prefer the numeric keyboard to the newest one without the arrows and number pad because I use those keys a lot.

I also love the USB ports. I use one side for my mighty mouse (when the battery to my wireless mouse dies) and the other, I use for small USB drives or to sync my iPhone.

I use the F3 keyboard shortcut quite frequently to go back and forth between windows and also the controls on the F7-F12 keys for my iTunes.

This is really a great product and I have never had any issues with it.

Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad - brilliant

This is the best keyboard I've ever typed on, and I've been typing on Mac keyboards all day long for the past 25 years - literally. It's even better than the previous model, the "pro" keyboard was bad; that thing was absolutely unusable (so I used a MacAlly iKey).

This keyboard has the side effect of making the transition to typing on a MacBook Pro keyboard seamless; it used to be hard not to make mistakes all the time after typing on a keyboard with the normal amount of travel.

I wish they made a wireless version with a 10-key pad.

    love this keyboard

it is just about perfect...the only thing I would change is the design, it would be more ergonimic if it were entirely flat on the desk vs. the slight incline (though this incline allows you to have 2 usb ports and that is very helpful).

    Great Keyboard - but ....

... had spilt a bit of my drink and some dropped onto the keyboard, specifically the cursor keys. Now I can't move backwards when I press the left cursor key when typing a message. Can't remove the key to give it a clean underneath - I've tried and it feels like it's just going to rip away and fear I won't be able to replace it.

    Great until keys fall off

This was a great keyboard until the keys started falling of randomly. I'm not talking about heavy usage just general home use.

how much for a tacky keyboard???

i struggle to understand why all the apple fanboys are gushing over a keyboard so much. for a start it is wafer thin so offers as poor a typing experience as a laptop with no play in the key presses whatsoever. secondly it offers precisely no ergonomics. not overly fussed about the usb ports, people with a basic knowledge of computers will buy a hub or an extension cable for their machine from a reputable outlet or pay over twice as much for the same thing off this website.

on the plus side it looks alright

    USB is High Power!

I'm using this right now with a Macbook 13" (2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo) that I purchased in the summer of 08. For those worried about whether or not the USB can power anything, I am happy to report that I've thrown everything at it and they all work. I've used the USB ports to power and charge my ipod, run my external harddrive, flashdrive, wireless mouse, and SD card reader.

The reason why I rate this 4 stars are for various reasons. The ergonomics of it aren't exactly the greatest with my palm having to rest on the table and not some external padding that I'm used to with Logitech keyboards. Also, $50 for a keyboard seems pricey but this is Apple and to have the Fn buttons just work without having to hack or modify a PC keyboard does make up for it.

    Love it

When I first took it out of the box I thought it was going to be too small for my big paws. After hooking it up to my Mac Mini and actually using it I'm loving it. It fits nicely on my keyboard drawer. I love the "action" on the keys. Typing on it is easy. Two thumbs up!

    Awesome!

Was looking for a keyboard for my Mac that was compact, and easy to type on. This keyboard fills both those criterion. The extra numeric keypad does make it a bit longer, but that is hardly an issue, as I still like to have the numeric keypad.

Once again, the best gear for my Mac is made by Apple itself. Great keyboard, great feel, great look, and matches the rest of my studio. Five stars :)

    Nice!

This is the best keyboard i've ever bought! Using it with my Macbook Pro for more than year and i still love the touch of pressed keys. When you type the text its pure pleasure...
Only downside that USB cord is quite short... still 5 stars!

    A very nice Keyboard

Ever since they came out with the flat design a couple years ago, I have been in love with it. When I got my MacBook Pro, then bought accessories for it so I could use it as a desktop computer, I was very excited to get this keyboard. I like that it has the extension cable, because I don't always need the longer cable, depending on how I'm set up, and it's nice to take it off. I don't seem to have the same issue as other people regarding the iPod connections. I plug my iPod Touch in through the keyboard's USB slots all the time because I don't have much room on my actual computer. The only thing that keeps this from being a full 5 stars is the fact that there is no wireless version. I really wanted a bluetooth keyboard, but I had to have the number pad also. So the bluetooth version lost out to this one for that reason. If they ever come out with a full size bluetooth keyboard, I will upgrade to that.

    Great keyboard, but WHAT THE!?

This is a great keyboard. The key layout and spacing is fantastic and makes for very accurate typing. It's also nice and quiet to type with, which is important as I tend to press keys hard when I type, which can be very noisey on different keyboards.

.......but when it comes to the USB ports all I can say is 'WHAT THE!!!!'.

The two USB ports on either side of the keyboard are STILL lower power ports, and cannot even run a USB 2.0 memory stick!

Seriously Apple, nobody uses USB 1 memory sticks anymore, and you cannot even buy a wired version of the Magic Mouse so why on Earth would you include LOW power USB ports!?

If providing sufficient power to the USB ports is an issue, Apple should add support for an auxiliary USB cable from the Mac to the keyboard, or even add an AC power adapter, which would allow the ports to run at high power similar to USB ports that are now present on many monitors.

So this keyboard is great, but could be better with high power USB ports.

    Is there a warrantee

I bought my keyboard less than a year ago along with one from MacAlley. The Apple keyboard already has a problem. The shift key doesn't work on the left side. The MacAlley keyboard is fine still. the Mac keyboard is a delight to use so concept is good. The actual is a piece of junk.
I have an untold number of Mac keyboards around here that don't work from many generations of Mac. Why can't these guys make a keyboard as good as their computers?
Same goes for the mouses made by Mac. I have a drawer full of them and many died after less than a couple of years of use. All have been replaced with off brands that last and work better.

    My keyboard with numeric keypad

I have had this keyboard for almost 1 year and most of that time I have been very pleased with its performance. However, during the last 2 or 3 months a number of the keys have lost their smooth, quiet operation and are now what I call sticky. I have been trying to find an on-line fix for this condition with no success. It is difficult for me to get to the Apple Store near me because I am no longer driving. If there is an on-line fix I'd like to hear about it.

    technical difficulty

I love this keyboard, easy to type and much less finger fatigue. Unfortunately when I turn on my printer,,,, It doesn't work. Then when I turn off my printer, I have to unplug it and plug it back in before it will work, very annoying, wish there was some fix, haven't found one yet.

    NO USB 2.0!!!

Ok, Here's the scoop.... I purchased this keyboard to go with my PowerMac G4. The keyboard would be fantastic with one exception. That being the fact that the website advertises the USB ports as 2.0. This is not the case! The only reason I switched to this keyboard from the old 2002 style keyboard was for the USB 2.0 ports! I'm kind of wanting my money back, Apple! If there's a simple solution to this, please fill me in, or update the dang hardware to match your advertisements! It won't charge any of my USB 2.0 devices, and those range from three iPod's:2nd gen iPod touch, 5th gen ipod classic, and a 5th gen iPod nano. It won't charge my iPhone4 either! I wouldn't have purchased this keyboard had the advertisement been accurate.

    Wish it were wireless

I have had one of these since the day it came out and its still going strong. I work from home and am on the computer about 12 hours a day if not more. It almost looks brand new and the key action has only slightly stiffened up but that is actually not a bad thing.

Either way, I just got a new Magic Trackpad to replace my MX1000 mouse that I have had for about 7 years now and I would really like a wireless version of this full keyboard. I have tried the Apple wireless one, but it doesn't have the number pad which I use daily. I don't need the USB ports on this and since they aren't powered, anything I plug into them seems to throw up an error about there not being enough voltage anyway. The only thing I could get it to successfully run was a dongle for a USB mouse.

If Apple would make a bluetooth version of the full keyboard I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I miss my old mac keyboard

This keyboard is slim and elegant. I like the texture of the keys but not the tactile feel. After more than a year, i still have much more typos and have developed wrist pain. I wish my old trusty mac keyboard hadn't broken it was the most comfortable keyboard i've ever used.

This rubbish isn't the slightest big ergonomic and a lot of people i know hate it. I wish apple would just swallow their pride and add one similar to the old one to the lineup. The Logitech Wave is better but not as good as my old white mac keyboard and i hear great things about the Matias Tactile Pro Keyboard 3.0. I do hear that it is not as good as the old mac with the clear sides that took two hours for people with mild ocd to clean. You know who you are.

    KEYBOARD

We switched to the IMac about a year ago from a Dell. Oh how I wish I would have tried to type on this thing before making this purchase!! I have come to the conclusion that it is simply IMPOSSIBLE for me to transition to this pathetic excuse of a writing instrument. It is my understanding that my Dell Keyboard won't work with the iMac, so I feel as though I am trapped in a marriage that is destined to fail.
