    Incredible Keyboard!

My oh my - this is one helluva keyboard. I can't stop running my hands over it – I've even typed up a page of complete nonsense because the feel is so satisfying. It's gorgeous, light, clean and slim. For those of us with a lightning-fast keystroke, it's a dream to have such a short depth of key. It's quiet, as well. Highly recommended. Thank you, Apple product designers, for making me feel so refined and elegant when I type my emails!

    #1 Digit Failed

My number 1 digit failed on the numeric keypad after only 3 months of ownership (W/ 8 core 2.26). Hopefully I'll get a freshy exchange at the Mac store. First time I've had this happen on a machine.

But the tactile and functional design is the best evolution yet. If my #1 worked.

    exceptional keyboard

wow was that quick! ordered it, expecting it to take some time probably the fastest shipping that i have ever had from anyone. Friday placed the order Monday had the mouse and keyboard connected in seconds and using it by 1! what great shipping! for the mouse, works on any surface exceptionally well! and the keyboard is the nicest feel that is comparable to no other keyboard! thin, buttons feel exceptional, i think i am in love with apple for being so great! they have one style of keyboard and mouse that is perfect for any type of user were as Microsoft has a crazy amount of options to choose from and apple just 1 and it works perfectly! what a great addition to the desk space to have this keyboard. i would have liked to go wireless but also really like the forward delete and numeric keypad... apple- extend your accessories and find a way to make this wireless, but dont get me wrong the wire is not that bad it would just be nice...

    Great apart from one thing!

Easily the best keyboard I've ever used, but disappointed that after only a short period of ownership the nice clean white keys are starting to turn yellow.

It's an awesome keyboard, but don't expect it to stay nice looking for long.

    Great keyboard!

I'm a programmer and I've been searching for a while for a good and easy to use keyboard. At first the Apple keyboard seemed too flat and uncomfortable but when I tried it - it's nothing like it! The large crispy keys speed up typing, the distance between the keys prevents typos and the bigger and easily reachable modifier keys make using key shortcuts easier than ever! Except that the elegant grid-like rectangular design makes the keyboard intuitive and easy to use without even looking at it. Another great product by Apple! Thank you!

    Best I've used

I bought the imac a while back with the keyboard and i have to say it is super thin and really really quiet unlike those fat keyboards that make those loud clicks when you type with them. Im really impressed. the only problem is that if you have really dirty fingers and then start typing on it the keys will get really dirty and its almost impossible to clean. other than that i love it!

    Perfect.

Key placement, tactile feel, response, and esthetic look all perfect, A+ workmanship.

I've used worse keyboards that cost more money. Perfect for the a minimalist's desk.

Best keyboard Apple has ever made

I've been using Macs since 1989 and the aluminum keyboard with numeric keypad is simply the best I've ever used. The feel is fast and sure. Typing is nearly effortless and key travel is short making speed typing a breeze. I have aluminum keyboards on both my business and home Macs and anything else now feels very clunky--like going back to a horse and buggy after driving a Ferrari.

I seem to make far fewer mistakes on this keyboard, and there is no annoying key repeat problem like I saw frequently on the previous plastic keyboards. Some people pine for the good old days of "the barge", Apple's ultra-large keyboard common in the 90's before OS X came on the scene. It was a great keyboard, but the new aluminum blows it away, in my opinion. I also opt for the numeric keypad and frequently use it to enter numeric data while designing.

The F7, 8 and 9 function keys allow instant control of iTunes without any additional software. Other function keys exist for brightness, widgets and sound volume. I work on my Macs at least 6-8 hours a day, and the new aluminum keyboards with numeric keypad make it easier and more fun than any other keyboard I've ever used. Way to go Apple!

Nice to type with but not spill proof

As a keyboard to type with it's nice, light & requires a positive action to activate a key, okay the alt & cmd keys are reversed compared to most keyboards which is a little disconcerting at first but you quickly get used to this. Cleaning is nice & easy, just a damp large fibre micro-tex cloth wiped over the keyboard when unplugged from the machine gets all of the marks & dirt off. It's small on the desk as well, an inch or so smaller than my PC's Logitech keyboard in width & depth. I like it, I like it a lot. If this was my entire experience of the keyboard I'd give it 5 stars.

However, last night I spilt a glass of water over the keyboard. Cue the usual routine, of unplug the keyboard, turn up-side down while making sure it was off the desk over some kitchen towel & wait to dry overnight, which has worked with every other keyboard I've owned, was implemented. Come the morning however the keyboard is completely dead, this is very disappointing for pure water, more the response I'd expect from a drink with milk or sugar in it.

The key question rarely answered by a reviewer is - Would I buy this again? My answer is a conclusive yes! I'm ordering 2 replacements, one to use & a spare.

    Great. But USB lacks.

The overall product is nice. The keys are perfect and presentation matches the Mac lines nicely. My only two complaints are the little rubber feet on the bottom offer absolutely no traction. My comp is at an angle (its on an artists table) and in the morning I find my keyboard to have slid considerably. Lastly, if your looking to use the USB ports for flashdrives and such, you won't find a solution here. The only way you can connect something through the USB is if it has its own power source. Otherwise the keyboard doesn't power it. Even tiny flashdrives with light indicators won't work simply because of the light.

    Great Design

I bought this keyboard about three months ago at the Apple Store in Minnesota after much consideration. I'm pleased to say that I made a great decision buying this keyboard.
Not only does this keyboard look great with it's ingenious design, but also flows and works fantastic with the thin key design that go down and pop-up with. My one complaint - although the available USB ports do work with the Apple Wired Mighty Mouse and other third-party mice it does not connect others devices such as Printers, iPods, and Cellphones.
All in all, Great design and functional keyboard worth every penny. Apple, keep up the great work.

    Great!

hours and hours of school work gets to me, so i put my MBP on a stand and use this and the wired mighty mouse. i love this keyboard! i love the sensitivity of the keys (they're lighter than my MBP)and how easy it is to type fast and move around. the one bad thing is (as mentioned in other reviews) the caps lock seems to be harder to push than the rest of the keys, as well as the directional keys. but other than that i think it's great! i would definitely recommend it.

Full Keyboard should have just come with the iMac

I bought my iMac two weeks ago and really gave the mini keyboard a try but, as a PC convert, there are some things that I just need, like my home and end keys, a backspace and a full size keypad. It should have just come with the system I bought but there was no swaying the sales person to swap it out for me. Oh well I ended up having to spend another $60 to get the full keyboard. I also ended up using the KeyFixer utility to remap the Home and End keys so that they operated like I expected them to. Overall I am very happy with my system and full keyboard.

    GREAT...but...

Ok...Ok.. This is a truly beautiful thing, well done. I have used my MacBook Pro 17" as my main computer (95% of the time) for the past 3 years. Recently (last week) I updated my Pro to the new unibody 15" pro and added a 24" led screen (waw again)... So with the new 24" led well I needed a keyboard and hence this one. It works great with well placed keys and handy controls for a variety of functions. Full numeric keys and arrows. My only real surprise is that there is no backlight... hmmmm.... I just cannot understand why Apple did not put backlit keys... I use my system for a variety of things and often operate in a no light room.
