    It's OK...errors now and then

I do seem to make typos every now and then but apart from that its a great product...better priced unlike the mighty mouse. Will need to get use to this keyboard.

    Slick keyboard

Got a new iMac at work a couple of weeks ago (moving from a PC) & when I first saw this keyboard, I thought there was no way I'd be able to type on it. Took to it immediately! Now, when I have to use a PC, the old school keyboad feels really clunky. Have not had any problems with the Apple keyboard (as one use described in regards to delays when pressing keys, etc.--might be because he's using it on old Macs?). Anyway, I'll be replacing my PC keyboard at home with one of these. Good job, Apple!

    Form over function?

This keyboard is beautiful, has a slick slow profile, and consistent feedback. That said, if you're a touch typist that has to switch back and forth from a more traditional keyboard, you're probably going to hate it. I suspect if I had the option to have one at work, I would learn to use it more effectively. But I don't and after months of use, my fingers still stumble over the keys and my error rate is unacceptable. Also, my wrists and hands tire under the strain of using such a low profile design.

If you're a "hunt and peck" typist or plan on using this as your primary keyboard where you rarely find yourself using another of a more traditional design, please disregard my feedback.

    Great keyboard!

Keyboard is elegantly designed. Small and compact and totally cool! Response is amazing. It's paired with my G5 and it makes you feel like the El Capitan of the Mothership. 2 USB ports right on opposite ends. very responsive keys, plug n play set up, no fuss. Just a fabulous keyboard and it gave me a happy feeling for my $49 bucks.

It works perfectly with my editing in Final Cut Pro. It would be great to also have the keyboard overlay, but most of the shortcuts are already built into the keyboard.

If you spend a lot of time on your computer, the $49 will be an excellent investment.

Apple Quality Assurance: Please check this out!

Having just recently purchased two of these keyboards for our older Macs. I have a better understanding of why so many people seem to either love them or hate them.
It seems that there are no two of these new keyboards that behave alike. One works great. I had to return the other because of a strange time delay with the “up arrow” and especially the ”right arrow” key. Not a computer or software problem, it has been isolated the individual keyboard. The replacement has the same intermittent delay on the arrow keys, plus a space bar that only works about half the time. Pressing the lower half of the bar usually gets no response, even though you feel and hear the “click” of the key.
Apple has designed the “Caps Lock” key with a long delay in its response, requiring the typist to “lean” on that key for an abnormal period of time in order to get it to lock or unlock. Apple is compensating for poor typing technique at the expense good typists.
To test your keyboard’s response , Open “Keyboard Viewer” (under the “flag” on the Menu Bar; if the “flag” isn’t there, go to System Preferences / International / Input Menu, and check “Show input menu in menu bar”). The Keyboard Viewer will give you a visual indication of the response for each keystroke, easily displaying flaky key contacts or strange time delays. If you end up with one of these new Aluminum keyboards that doesn’t work properly, my advice is to have it replaced immediately (and repeat if necessary, until you get a GOOD one). There seems to be a high percentage that truly are defective. It’s time for the Quality Assurance folks at Apple to get a handle on this problem!

    REALLY nice keyboard!

This is one of the best keyboards I have ever had. It has a nice feel and a very positive response. The design is super and very easy to look at. Would have liked to get this keyboard with num keypad as a wireless kb but it is not to be. I wish the cord was longer but my board shipped with a short extension cable that worked for me.

    The Best Keyboard ever.

I've used many keyboards before, but this one is by far the most outstanding. The keys are so crisp and easy to find, plus the keyboard shortcuts make it extremely easy for me to change my iTunes song whilst not even having the program open. This keyboard is a huge breath of fresh air after dealing with an extremely dirty, black apple pro keyboard. I also like how it's design matches all mac designs, I use a 2005 eMac and it blends in with it beautifully.

    I absolutly love it!

Apple sure has improved the keyboard. I love the low profile keys, and it actually feels great to type! One of the main reasons I love this keyboard is because on the older one it was a pain to clean, but with this one its extremely easy! All in all, I love this product!

Functionally very well designed. The only thing I think it is lacking is the function button on the lower left as is the case on the MacBook. Might be nice to have backlight feature too. Other than these iI would recommend this item.

Needed an excuse to use my new keyboard...

...so I decided to write a review on the Apple Store. That's how much I like it.

I had a wireless Apple Keyboard (the old transparent model) and it got RIDICULOUSLY dirty. There's not really a good way to clean it, so I just got this from the Apple Store. It works great. The keys feel great and I think it actually increases my WPM, since the keys have a shorter distance to travel. It also looks great and I don't think it will be nearly as easy to get this one dirty.

I am just really disappointed that Apple doesn't offer a wireless keyboard with the numeric keypad! That was a deal-breaker for me on the new Apple wireless keyboard. Either way, I'm much happier with this.

    Excellent and Beautiful Keyboard

At first, I had to get used to this keyboard because of its design (i.e. the calculator-type keys). After getting used to it (about a couple of minutes), I realized I could type faster on it.

The keyboard is quiet and pleasant to the touch. It is easy to clean.

It looks pretty good from a design point of view.

I love Apple's New Slimline Keyboard

This keyboard is awesome. I replaced it with the clear type that Apple used to have. I like the fact that it is silver--completed closed and is not even a 1/4 inch thick. Yes...just about a 1/4 inch!! It's so user friendly...the keyboard is quiet too. They moved the eject, volume up and down, brightness buttons all to the very top of the keyboard, along with it's own keys to access the widgets and another key to place all of your files that are open on screen for viewing at once. Being a graphic designer, I am lovin this. I highly recommend this new keyboard to everyone!!

Before I owned any Apple product, I used to wonder why it was their products were slightly higher in price than other companies... I thought they wanted to rip you off. However, I now know that with a higher price comes much better quality.

This is one of the most sleek and sexy keyboards I've ever seen. Apple puts so much time and effort into making something as boring as a keyboard into something that a person could truly be proud of. It may be a keyboard, but when the look of it has to be involved in a review, you know it's something special. Now, the performance of the keyboard is also very noteworthy, as it is one of the most responsive keyboards I've ever used in my life. It makes typing a breeze with its low pressure response. I used to have a problem where I would hit hard enough on the keys so the letter would not display, causing a lot of spelling mistakes and tedium... not anymore. Thanks to this keyboard, typing is much faster and tedium is a non issue.

I also enjoy how there are two USB ports on the device, although they don't work with iPods, which is a real shame. Other than that, there really isn't any other bad things about this keyboard.

Hey, when I take time out of my day to write a review about a keyboard, you know it's good.

    Amazing Keyboard.

I love this keyboard. It is very responsive, and very easy to type on. I enjoy writing on this keyboard. I think my typing speed has increase. It is beautifully designed. It doesn't take up a lot of space, either.

This keyboard is amazing... typing feels so leisurely and relaxed after having used the fat keyboards we're all used to. Plus it just makes your desk look ten times cooler.

I am apparently dirty because all of my keyboards start really showing the dirt after about 3 months of use, and this keyboard is by far the easiest to clean.

I'm using this on a Windows computer and all I had to do was map the volume and playback control keys. The command key becomes the Windows key.
