    One Incredible Keyboard

This is the most delightful keyboard I've ever owned or used. That is saying a lot after working full-time in PC computer support for my university for over 18 years and having been a PC-only household. That changed in Dec. 2007 when I purchased my iMac and with it this keyboard. Great feel, great look, and a nice compliment to my new iMac and wireless mouse. Thank you, Apple. :D

    Best keyboard I've ever owned!

Got this keyboard recently to use when I have my macbook pro plugged into my 23" display. It is by far the best keyboard ive ever owned or typed upon. They keys are very crisp, and super light which means you hardly need to press at all when you type making it extra fast. The built in two port usb hub is very handy, especially with a laptop that only has 2 usb ports. Great for plugging in a mouse, usb drives, cameras, etc.

Excellently designed product (it really is beautiful), and a pleasure to type on.

    Awesome!!!! Just love it

Sleek in design, really nice. Only if they made the keys in silver as-well.. white tends to get dirty fast.

    2 USB 2.0 ports, that's exciting!

I love typing on this keyboard. The quality is great. The price is not too bad. It looks really cool too. The only problem I have, and it's a big one, is that the USB ports can't even power a thumb drive or ipod. So, I asked myself the question,"What else would anyone plug into a USB port?" A mouse, that's about it. Mine's bluetooth, but I thought I'd test it anyway with an older USB mouse. Shockingly, it worked. I had my answer. Now I'm left with another question: What do I use the other USB port for?

a great keyboard. i wish they made the full size model wireless, but its still great. This slim profile makes it easily portable and easy on the wrists. The laptop-like keys are quiet, and the labeled function keys make using dashboard and expose a whole lot easier. well done, apple. one warning i will give: if you're banking on the usb ports to use an external hard drive or jumpdrive, think again. the keyboard doesn't have enough power running through it, so you can only use devices that have a power source of their own (like a digital camera or printer.)

    Apple, you did it right

    I'm a pc user (i know, scoff)
but i have to say, Apple, you continue to amaze me

    Why am i so shocked?
Because this is the first keyboard that eliminates a HUGE problem: gunk in between the keys

In fact, just 3 minutes ago i spilled crumbs all over the thing and all i had to do was blow on it and everything came off

Not to mention, of course, that this is the best designed and thinnest keyboard i have ever seen

    Apple, I applaud you

    Best keyboard ever

I love this keyboard. I used to swear by the Macally icekey for years. Finally apple creates a keyboard of equal (I'd say even superior) quality for the same price.

The pictures don't do it justice -- it's TINY. No space is wasted, and the thing is ridiculously thin. Definitely worth the money.

    Great Keyboard!

i love this keyboard its thinness is amazing, and the function keys work like a charm! To reviewer SG: Yes apple does say that you can only plug in a Ipod into the keyboard if you are using the New Apple iMac! check it out. otherwise its great

    The New Keyboard

Yes, it is beautiful but...Where was a user to find what each of the f keys was to accomplish? All of the f keys did not seem to want to do their job or were misplaced. Example, the Dashboard symbol appears at f4 (it doesn't work) and instead the Dashboard appeared when I pushed f12. I cannot find any button that controls volume even though the usual volume control symbols appear at f11 and f12. It all a mess and I will have to go to the discussion groups for assistance since there doesn't appear to be any literature that would help me find what the keys are supposed to do or how to redefine the function of the f keys.

    Almost Perfect (for Some)!

This is my latest keyboard in a line of different keyboards dating back to the Apple Extended Keyboard II (with its distinctive clacking sounds). I've used every Apple keyboard from then to now, along with many different Microsoft Keyboards, and a few Mac and PC laptop keyboards.

You definitely have to spend a week or so on this keyboard before you'll get used to it (especially for using keys such as the Return key or Delete key). It feels quite like a MacBook keyboard, but it seems to have a little more tactile responsiveness than the average MacBook Pro keyboard or even the older Apple "Keyboard" (the white one—which I still use, from time to time). The keys are easy to press, but they're just tight enough that you won't accidentally hit one. And the keyboard has a pleasing sound to it, too. Not as annoying as the old Extended Keyboard II, and not as quiet as the former Apple white "Keyboard."

The main reason I bought this keyboard, though, was it's size. It's about the smallest extended keyboard on the market, and it'll fit about anywhere. I used to use a Microsoft Photo Keyboard, so the amount of space I've regained on my desk has more than made up for the $49 I paid for this keyboard! The USB ports on it are nice (since they're finally USB 2.0), but they won't power a flash drive or hard drive (you'll get a USB low-power notice). The cable is of good length, and there's a nice extension cable included as well.

My only real complaint is that the USB extension cable can *only* be used with this keyboard, because of a notch in the end which prevents me from plugging in any other USB devices with 'standard' plugs.

    MacBook Tiger User

I am a student who has a White Macbook with the 2.16 Intel, and the 120 GB HDD. I am running 10.4.11, and was worried about the function keys. I bought the keyboard, and was thrilled to find out that the sync was seamless. I am a fairly heavy typer, and I tend to slam the speacebar. Even with the thin profile, this keyboard will take every punch of the key. I have never been so comfortable typing on any keyboard. The Keys move flawlessly, the layout is ideal, and the dual USB Ports allow for a mouse on either side, when my left handed brother needs to use it. I am amazed at how little it costs, and I HIGHLY recommend it for ANY Mac user, who types a fair amount.

    Another Apple Home Run

Well done! Best keyboard ever. Time to get rid of your old keyboards this one is the only way to fly! Quiet, excellent key travel, light pressure, fewer typos and more speed. Makes all other keyboards as antiquated as QWERTY.

I just got this keyboard, this week. And love it. It is so nice. I don't want to stop using it. When I saw how thin it was I didn't think it would work, but the keys are so soft to the touch, that I have to watch myself at how I type. It has the features you want for you mac. I just can't say enough about this keyboard it is FANTASTIC!!!!! I wish they were made for my PC at work.

agree with the others But need a download?

Just got this new keyboard. Bought it just for the looks really nothing wrong with my old style keyboard. Anyways, I have to agree with the other reviewers that this is too flush with the desk which makes it bad for my RA. The quietness of this is something to get used to.

One thing though, I have the latest Leopard and the keyboard instructions said to go to the apple site to download a driver. Wasted my time doing so cause when I got done I got "newer version of this software already on this volume," Apple should state that the download is for OLDER models and Leopard models dont have to waste time DL.

    This thing is great!!!

First I have to say, I ordered from Apple directly on Monday and the FedEx came on Wednesday. Wow that was fast. Anyway, I really like it. the keys are very good and the low profile is great for fast typing with little mistakes. I have been typing on the macbook keyboard and this is way better. Despite the slim design the keys are well spaced. I think the low profile is better for your hands also. But that waits to be seen.

    Really icky

I like the bigger keys, but that's about it. The keys have no tactile response. Also the whole thing is too flush to the desk top. Really uncomfortable to type on.

Good Keyboard, but Lacks in Tactile Response

This keyboard has convenient, well-placed USB ports, well-defined F keys and a spectacular spill-safe structure. What it lacks in, however, is tactile response. The low profile keys lead to a lot of typos and a disappointing padding noise upon typing, as opposed to the classic clacking sound that I know and love. While it's certainly better and cheaper than a lot of keyboards on the market, I preferred the old Apple Keyboard models to this one.

The best Keyboard At Any Price!

This ultra thin keyboard is absolutely the best I've ever come across... As a Windows user, integration with XP and Vista is flawless.. I highly recommend this board to anyone seeking great feel, looks and performance.

    Very nice

I have this keyboard for 6 months and I think it is excellent. Very good design with a good feel and response from the keys. The USB outlets on the side are a real bonus for connecting color calibration equipment etc.
A good example of apple at its best.
