    mmmmm, sweet

first of: it works with PCs, a few of the keys are swapped (@, ¬ etc.) and the special function keys (dashboard, brightness etc.) don't work, but that's to be expected.

overall this keyboard is a joy to use, i'm actually rather dissappointed i haven't had to do more typing, as it's that nice to use.

A lot of people mention the short travel of the keys, some obviously hate it but personally i love it. I think it depends a lot on how used to a normal long travel type keyboard you are, if you have used a traditional keyboard eveyday for the past 10 years your going to have difficulty gettign used to this keyboard, although i think most people will find it quite easy to use.

I would have given this 5 stars, although as a few people mention, you do get loads of typos for some reason. For example there were 5 in this review (before i corrected them!)

Much better than the old keyboard.. BUT

I wanted to give it 3.5, but I didn't want to give it a 3, so I gave it a 4. The keyboard is great, although sometimes I have a hard time pressing the Caps Lock button. The response is usually good, and I like the style a lot better. Plus it's easier to clean. However. Both I and another person I know have installed the software for the keyboard, and ever since starting to use it, we have had problems with the computer. My friend's mouse will hang up and be stuck clicked on a window, and won't unclick. So when he drags his mouse across the screen the window goes with it. Everytime I quit Safari, a Pop Up window comes up reading:
    Safari has unexpectedly quit!...

    But, it didn't?

Other than that, certain preferences on my Safari browser were changed, nothing too big. But it's worrisome. Especially since I'm going to back up my computer and upgrade to Leopard. Which, after reading reviews, can only imagine what horrible things could happen. My luck with computers is not very good, although I've always loved Apple software. I'm sure the problem with the keyboard is just minor and could be patched up.

So all in all it's a good keyboard. Just need to work out a few bugs, I suppose.

    Great Keyboard design!

I love the new keyboard, but I want to know if it will work on Windows-based pc's.

    Why move the buttons around?

I really like this keyboard, but the change of the volume keys and the eject button to the function keys is rather frustrating. F16 thru F19 are now useless unless I figure out how to reprogram them.
I love the design, but the buttons should have stayed the same.

    Great but... not

Don't get me wrong, I love the keyboard. It works seamlessly with bootcamp (Windows Vista) but, I did have some issues with it:
    1) I have yet to find something I can plug into the USB ports on the keyboard, I've tried to use my ipod, a thumb drive, digital camera, and cell phone. They all gave me this "USB Low Power Notice"
2)The supplied USB Extender is modified so it can only be used for the keyboard.
3)There is no "NumLock" for bootcamp

I love this keyboard, but I just wish I had known the USB power thing before I bought it!

    Fantastic for Mac or Windows!

I just got this keyboard for christmas and couldn't be happier. It types just like a laptop keyboard: fast and noiseless. My favourite part of the board itself is that it works flawlessly on windows! Simply plug and play!

Best PC Keyboard Money Can Buy

I’ve just had this keyboard for Christmas for my PC and it's the best keyboard I've ever used.
Apart from the quite nature of the keyboard and the fact that I can't hear my partner hammering the keys late at night, great, this is such a low price for the materials used, I can't believe it.
Two low power USB's (you shouldn't rely on them to charge your iPod or any other battery for that matter) are great for plugging my phone, camera, card reader into. Classic design, keys feel great to me.
Just remember on PC your @ and your " keys are not as marked on the keyboard, they are swapped.

    A work of ART!

I just bought this keyboard a few nights ago but have already used most of its features, and I'm completely blown away by it. Its new sleek design is just awesome and the keys are so quiet on it. The USBs work flawlessly with no problems with errors coming up saying not enough power.

I did read a review on here about the spacebar not working reliable but I have no complaints about that ether it works fine so I don't know if apple fixed it or its just some keyboards that have that problem but all is great. Apple did a amazing job on this keyboard it almost puts the old one to shame. Great job guys!!!

    Best Keyboard Ever!

This is a great Keyboard. I had the older MAC keyboard which came with an iMac my sister sold me as she got the new one but when I visited her at Christmas, I absolutely loved the new keyboard. The touch and feel are so nice. You don't have to slam the keys but they are very tight. The size of it is just right too. The function keys are set up in I think just the right spots and they still have the 2 usb ports. This is by far Apple's best keyboard. I got it, I love it, you should get it, you'll love it........

Best keyboard i have ever typed on. At first i had doubts on this new "aluminum" model because i just happen to be one of those people who have mammoth hands-it was surprising on how small it was, compared to the backlit Saitek Eclipse II. Keys feel great, perfect spacing, instant plug-and-play on my MacBook. And having F1 through-F19 keys is great, Number keypad is a great addition to any Mac Notebook user. Great Price.

    Elegant, Functional, and Perfectly Sized

I recently bought a Macbook Pro and this keyboard to go with it when I'm working from home. I love it! It works perfectly, the keys are nice to the touch, it's smooth, there are no clacking sounds with key strokes, the keyboard maximizes the available space, and the design minimizes the usual problem of dirt or dust (or worse) falling beneath the keys. I also love that it's so thin and rests so close to the surface of my desk. Of course, like most Apple products, it's beautiful and elegant to match its functionality. Finally, I think Apple has a tendency to be a bit over-priced, but not in this case: This keyboard warrants the $50 that I spent on it. All and all, a wonderful product!

This keyboard is awesome! I was doubtful of waisting my money on a keyboard but I am glad I did buy it. I have an eMac running Leopard and it works awesome. The special function keys are great for expose, itunes, dashboard and more. With the slim design and the new keypad touch pressure thing, it is awesome. What I mean by pressure thing, I mean that if you press h and hit h and a little bit of j by accident, it will sense it and it knows that you meant h.

    Think twice

This keyboard is a triumph of design. Sort of.

I type a rapid hunt-and-peck; Now I now find that my text is full of typos. And I don't know why! Is the keyboard too sensitive (which cannot be adjusted), or do the keys not always 'hear' me when I strike them? Whatever the reason, the spell checker is working overtime trying to keep up with this mess.

Interestingly, one of the techs at Apple Care says he has this new keyboard and it mirrors my complaints.

To add insult to injury, Apple no longer sells the older, better, model

    Back Lights?

I really like this keyboard, but I REALLY wish it had nice Blue lights under the keys that lit just the letters up like the Green under the CapsLock key.. I mean this is connected with a USB so why not? THEN it would definitely be worth the price it costs.

It takes a little while getting used too, and if you have big hands it might be the wrong keyboard for you.

I chose this one over the wireless one because it has the Home, Page Down, Page Up, Numpad, ect keys; which i use a lot when on the web and making websites.

It works nicely in Windows and Linux.. In Linux the Eject button even works as an Eject button. :-)

    That's all.

    Great Product, Wrists Disagree

The keyboard is simply amazing, it is quiet and features a great design. The keys are close together, just like any laptop keyboard, and keys differ from those of a MacBook's slightly. Keyboard features function keys from F1 thru F19. All aspects of this keyboard are top notch, especially the USB ports on both sides.

Though the product is simply amazing functionality wise, usability lacks in the wrist department. Wrists are slammed to the desk due to the slanted positioning of the keyboard and causing straining after about two hours of use. A gel pad would be nice.

Overall, my wife and I are pleased with this very beautiful keyboard, which we use connected to a PowerBook G4 for ease of typing.

We found, however, that the spacebar was not as responsive as the other keys. We have to press more deliberately on the spacebar in order to produce a space character. So our typing would often omit the spaces, likethis.

I found a useful suggestion in the review by JS on December 7, 2007. He cemented a half-millimeter thick plastic strip to the spacebar. Perhaps when I have more time I can try this. In the meantime, I've cut a wide popsicle stick to a length that will fit on the spacebar. I sanded a bevel on the front edge for comfort. And I've used two loops of scotch tape to hold the modified popsicle stick to the top of the space bar. This arrangement now functions much more reliably (but of course doesn't look very stylish).

    I like it

I was a little concerned about buying this keyboard due to some of the reviews. I like the idea of the extra USB ports and it seems that most people are having trouble with this feature. I also noticed that some people are having issues with the F3 and F4 selections.I decided I would purchase it anyway because I got tired of how dirty my old keyboard was. I purchased the iMac last yr and although I liked the keyboard that came with the computer, I was a bit surprised at how dirty it became with its see through bottom. No matter how many times I tried to blow out the dirt with air canisters, the junk stayed put. I so far, have not had any issues. My F3 and F4 buttons work just fine. Also, the USB ports took my SLR camera just fine with no error messages of not enough power. So maybe Apple has worked this out? The keyboard does type like a laptop so if your not crazy about that feel, this prolly would not be the keyboard for you. It types just like my Macbook and Im fine with that. I would have preferred the wireless board but I like having a number pad. So over all, I am quite happy with my purchase.

    Greatest Keyboard!!!!

I got this keyboard from my wife as a Christmas present. I LOVE IT. It is the greatest and the best keyboard from Apple. It is a lot better than the previous one. I can type a lot faster now with any typo.

I used this keyboard for about 10 minutes once, and now I have to buy one. It looks very cool and is much better than the old keyboards. The keyboard I'm using right now (old) is very messed up and the "q" key is practically impossible to use. The new keyboard is amazing. :-D
