    Great feel and look!

A elegant and functional keyboard. The newly marked function keys make getting around that much easier. The feel is actually very good though some new users take a few minutes to get a handle on it. In the end, all that have used it love it!

this is the most comfortable keyboard i have ever used not to mention the most beautiful and sleek. the keys don't travel far which makes for quick typing. the keys are also nicely spaced apart; minimizes wrong key strokes. the keyboard also feels very solid due to the aluminum. all in all this is an excellent keyboard if you are looking to replace your older apple keyboard!

    not so great USB

I loved everything about this keyboard except the usb. It says will not work on ipods and other usb powered items that require more power but half the time it wouldn't work on a simple flash drive. On the positive side, the keys were very responsive and the design is great. I think the usb complaint was a problem with past designs also. Mac, get this fixed!

This thing looks amazing, feels amazing to type on - and is just all around awesome! I have owned many keyboards in my lifetime, and this is by far the best i've owned so far. I have it hooked up to my Macbook which sits on a Griffin Elevator in addition to a wireless mighty mouse. The best combination you could ever ask for. And the price is extremely reasonable!

    love this keyboard

I've got an iMac from earlier this year and it came with the previous type of keyboard which caused me to have lots of typos as it "double tapped" many keys. This keyboard has yet to do it. I love it, I can type so much faster and more accurate. [faster because it's both smooth and I'm not having to correct mistakes] It's a great design too, love the aluminum look.

    Very Pleasing to the Touch

My wife got me this for our anniversary.I was very pleased for the first few days, the feel of the thin profile was amazing, and the keys were very responsive!but soon the space bar started coming loose. After some more use, it completely fell out.If you buy this, try to limit the use of the spacebar,as it will pop out! Also, i use a USB fan, and after i plugged into one of the ports,it produced an incredibly weak breeze.I must say I am disappointed...you struck out on this one steve!

    Slim and Trim

I love the new keyboard! Great design and wonderful touch for us none typists. Only wish it could have been angled a bit more...or had an option to adjust for personal preference. I also wish the wireless keyboard would have been available in the longer format. I never really liked MAC's compressed options of the shorter keyboard and swore I'd never go back after their last attempt at its design. If you are not typing from across the room and don't mind a cable attached to your monitor...get hooked up to the longer version of the keyboard again! I love it! I'd give it a five if they had made it wireless AND long!

What a superb bit of kit!! Such an impressive improvement over the older iMac keyboard - feels like a lovely laptop keyboard, is really easy to keep clean (rather than gathering dust and dirt underneath the keys which shows through the clear plastic of the old one!) and has improved my typing speed as it's so much more positive! Ignore comments about slipping too - mine hasn't budged since it touched my desk a week ago!

Hooked to my PC at work...everyone is jealous.

This is a beautiful keyboard. the super thin deisng seems to beldn into the desk, making it incredibly comfortable to use. As a tall person with large hands, I appreciate the increased "dead space" between each key. Additionally, the keyboard FEELS great under your fingers. The keys feel substantial, and the motion is very crisp. The low power USB ports are handy for mice, but most peripherals draw too much power to use with them.

The short key travel is a bit of an adaptation, because it is slightly longer than a usual laptop keyboard. The motion feels crisp, but when you first switch over, your fingers want to press the keys to far, and I felt a little sore the first day till I got used to the motion. Now, I find that I can type considerably faster on this keyboard than any I have had before.

Like all keyboards, there is a simple matter of comfort and preference, and this may not suit your tastes. But the construction is very solid, and the keyboard has a very high-quality feel to it, and definitely merits consideration, even for PC users.

Not only does it look good, but it's so comfortable to type with! I find myself typing emails just so I can use this keyboard. If you are in need of a new keyboard, this one is highly recommended.
Only drag is the USB ports, Apple still hasn't put a full USB 2.0 hub in their keyboard. If I could plug my iPod into this keyboard it would have received five stars.

Best Keyboard I Have Used in > 25 Years

I bought the MacAlly IceKey as it emulated laptop keyboards. Then I saw this as a very similar product to my MacBook keyboard. It's low travel, "tactile feel", very silent. very easy on the hands, super small footprint without sacrificing any layout, increased functionality over the IceKey, thinner cable to the computer, recessed USB ports, and Apple specific function keys for iTunes/QT/Dashboard/Brightness, make this the best keyboard I've ever used or witnessed. I put a lot of weight into the items I deal with the most (Logitech 5 button laser mouse, 4 monitors, new Apple keyboard) as I sit on my computer every day all day, so this is a massive winning investment for the associated cost. Makes me ask what people were thinking before.

Every once in a while a product comes along that really works, in all aspects of the application. I know Steve has said this before, but this keyboard is simply magic. Well done Apple! It's the level of design and implementation that I expect from you.

    Amazing Keyboard

I absolutely love this keyboard. I was a little weary about spending $50 on a wired keyboard, but I am really glad that I did. The touch on this keyboard is amazing and allows me to type very quickly without having to strain my fingers at all. The media control buttons as well as the single Exposé button (you press Command and Option to invoke the other Exposé displays) are really useful. It also works really well when using it on my lap because it has such a low profile that it feels like I am not actually typing on anything.

My only complaint is that the USB ports are far under the keyboard, so I have to pick it up to plug anything in. This isn't a huge problem, and shouldn't be a reason for someone not to get it.

This is by far the easiest and most well designed keyboards I have ever worked on. I love the design, having a nerve disorder in my right arm and hand, and designing 14 hours a day. It has made an immense difference in the short time that I have been using it. A MUST HAVE for anyone that spends s ton of time on the mac, which is probably 90% of designers.

Got one at work, getting one for home!

My work bought a half dozen of these and I was lucky enough to get one. This keyboard is AWESOME! I am not the best typist in the world, but I felt like my speed went way up after I got used to the feel. Silent, smooth, and just plain cool looking. Even our most diehard Windoze cheerleader was overheard admitting, "I'll give Apple this much. They make pretty cool stuff." I agree. I'm putting my wireless Microsoft board & mouse in the closet and I'm buying one of these for home! Apple may never rule the world like Gates, but they sure as heck keep on redefining it! Keep the insanely great stuff coming!

Who knew a keyboard could be this different?

I had no idea that a keyboard could make this much difference. I actually just bought it because it matched my monitor. I use a MacMini. I came home and downloaded the driver (a bit of a surprise for an apple product) and it worked beautifully. I have my printer running through the side USB slot and have had no problems with the info. I do have one small irritation, however. Because I have limited room for my keyboard and mouse (I'm a researcher), the placement of the USB ports is a little annoying. My printer USB cord interferes with the area I use for my wireless mighty mouse. However, the rest of the product is outstanding!!

    Awesome Design!!!

Wow, my old wireless keyboard broke today and I got this as a replacement. The design is really cool! The keys are great and it's so thin! The only downers are:

    1. The USB ports on the side ONLY support mice, not flash drives and iPod connectors.
    2. All the USB ports on my mac are full--the iPod dock takes up one, the usb connector to my printer takes up another, and of course this takes up one.
    3. The key layout is a bit odd.

    The good things are:

    1. The keys are cool and the keyboard is really easy to clean
    2. It looks nicer.
    3. I forgot the last one....it was something great though.... oh! i don't have to waste my allowance on batteries for the wireless anymore!

worth the $50 bucks you paid.

and a little something off topic...

you can't stream videos or music on the iPod touch. Apple really needs to fix some bugs!

Seriously, I love the keys on my MacBook, and when I found out I could have them on my Mac Pro I just had to have it. Excellent in all aspects!

There are reviews on this product that trash how it's made. Saying that there are design flaws. I feel, now that I've had it for about a month now, that I couldn't do without this product. I agree that the keys can sometimes be a little disorienting at times because they are all flat and have no contour. I mean, even the MB's have contoured keys. However, since I do own a MB and cannot find a compatible ten key pad ANYWHERE, this keyboard is a must. I write music using notation software, and the ten key pad is necessary. That reason is enough to make me love this product, but I believe that if you need a small, sleek, and just want a 'futuristic' computer keyboard, THIS IS YOUR KEYBOARD!!!

Don't get this keyboard if you expect to use it with a KVM switch

Had an Iogear KVM switch. It has worked with every keyboard I've had (even the old style Apple keyboard). But not with this one. The only workaround probably would be to buy a expensive powered KVM. I work for Apple and still no one at Applecare could give me a straight answer about why this was happening. Well I figured out why. It draws way too much power (one reason the extra USB's won't work on a Mac Mini). Even Iogear was shocked when I called them to try and troubleshoot it. I've had it for over a month and tried everything. So hopefully I can get my money back or just sell it to another co-worker. But if you have more than one computer, don't waste your money on it.
