    Apple Mouse

My experience with the Apple Mouse has been a pleasure although. I haven't mastered all its features.

I bought my computer in 2006 and on April 3, 2010 my nephew broke the mouse. I am reordering a replacement today

NICE BUT THE SCROLL BALL DOES NOT WORK

Nice, small and gorgeous mouse, but the scroll ball does not work properly, and it´s really a headache when you most need it.
Apple needs to work in the scroll ball.

    I'm onto my second replacement

This mouse has been nothing but a nightmare. Each lasts for a few months, but now I'm onto my second replacement (third mouse).

The dirt/roller ball issue happened the first time. Now, the replacement mouse is constantly going to Expose, not allowing me to work in the window I'm using, and the buttons often send a command for one of the other buttons when pressed. Apple - after all these reviews, how can you keep manufacturing this mouse?

    Disappointing

I'm on my second mouse within one year. The scroll button doesn't want to scroll down, or sometimes-up. This was the same problem with the previous. My next one will be something other than Apple. This is disappointing because Apple quality is usually right on the mark.

    Not Too Reliable

As many have stated, it stops scrolling up and down. But reading the reviews, I learned that turning it upside down and rubbing the rubber ball over a piece of paper cleans it. I tried it and it worked! Thanks for saving me time and money ($49) trying to replace it. :)

    Terrible

The little scroll ball broke less than 6 months after purchasing this mouse. Don't waste your money.

    I love this mouse

So far, I really do love the mouse although I did debate a lot about getting it after all the negative reviews I read on here. The mouse is beautifully designed and beautifully made. It has worked very well for me. I have the Magic Mouse for my MacBook Pro and use that most of the time. I got the wired mouse to use with the Windows partition on the MacBook since I couldn't get the Magic Mouse to work with that. I do prefer the Magic Mouse but am very happy with the wired mouse. The scroll button works very well although I don't do a great amount of scrolling. It fits my hand well. For the button to get really dirty, as so many people complain here, and for a lot of black gunk to be in it, seems really strange to me. Do all those people live in really dirty houses or do they ever wash their hands? Things, including mice, do need to be cleaned and Apple described in the booklet accompanying the mouse how to clean the mouse and the scroll ball.

    Apple Mouse doesn't work

Please I need help! My apple mouse doesn't work at all, No clicking or moving or scrolling. The light does turn on when you plug it in but it doesn't do anything! Its only about 6 months old and I do not want to buy another one. Is there any way to fix this? I can't take it to the store since I did not keep the receipt. :(

    Bad mouse

This mouse, as well as other Apple mice have never worked properly from the get go. It stopped scrolling up and down a few months ago. Two days ago I got so frustrated with the thing that I started slamming it on the table. Now the cheesey plastic retaining ring is on the table and until I order a new mouse - it just gives me more daily doses of irritation.

In short - shoddy product. Good upgrade marketing. :(

Poor design, Poor functioning, Do not buy this product

A have both wireless and USB versions.

Beside scrolling issues there are much more:

The ergonomic is really poor, it is too small and the shape is awful. It feels unnatural and Apple coming back to the stone age with this product. Your hand will get tired working with this mouse really fast.

The functionality is also really bad. There is no right or left button and mouse is always guessing what button did you really press. I have to lift my fingers to make sure I press the right side... There is also something about clicks - they are dumb slow, some times you click but click never happens... I have to click twice, it drives me nuts!!!

I'm using Microsoft Ergonomic Wireless mouse with my iMac now, it is sooo much better...

    Paperweight

As a paperweight this is great, as a mouse 100% no good. the tracking stops working after a week and needs constant cleaning, the right click is hit and miss plus it eats AA batterys. It looks good but works bad.

    Expensive junk

I've just had the third mouse in three years become unusable (will no longer scroll down). Expect clicks to be interpreted wrongly and the scroll ball to work erratically despite all cleaning from just about the first use. It feels good to the hand - that's why I used it instead of the cheap-feeling (but functional) Macally mouse I just plugged in so that I can work - but no amount of good feeling makes up for bad performance.

    If only this mouse worked

Quite simply this mouse scroll button does not work.
I have had my new iMac computer with the really big screen for less than a year. A working scroll button is essential to help navigate around this huge screen. I work at a college and others are reporting the same issues and have used, in some cases, 3 mice all with the same issue. I expect more from Apple.

The scroll wheel stops working way too quickly. Cleaning doesn't seem to work for long if at all. Please fix this Apple!!

It works just need some help

Like most of the reviewers, I agree the ball does stop working now and again. I have used the same mighty mouse for close to 5 years almost daily and I would say I need to flip it over and spin it on paper or a mouse pad at least twice a month. If they ever made this mouse with the magic mouse scroll capabilities or that pad they have on the new blackberry's apple would by far have the best mouse on the market.

Pros: touch sensitive left AND right click, being able to click down on the scroll ball (great for expose) and additional side buttons

Cons: Scroll ball issues, 2 side buttons must be clicked together to work would be good if each side button could have its own control.

I will be greatly looking forword to an updated mighty mouse as the magic mouse lacks some of the mighty mouse features ie. ball click ann side buttons

Don't ever pay attention to the 5 stars

The mouse is great functionally. Other than that, it's horrible.

The ball will get dirty. You can't get around it. You can wash your hands everytime, but it'll get dirty. You can try all the tutorials out there that say put it upside down and roll it over a paper towel, but eventually, it's just never going to come back. It'll scroll up but never down, or whatnot.

I got tired of those "How to clean the ball on the mac mouse" tutorials where all they did was take a paper towel and run the ball on it. It would only alleviate the problem for a short bit and this time it just didn't work at all. So I did what you think you can do to any mouse or keyboard if you have to do some really deep cleaning, disassemble it. You can do this with any computer device other than apple products, apparently.

Ok, mission accomplished. Great. But now I can't put that outer ring back in without gluing it back because it doesn't snap back. It seems that Apple attached it using some adhesive.

Why? Why would they even think this was a good idea!? I've never met a mouse where once you disassemble it, you can't reassemble it using what's already in it (be that it snaps together or using some screws).

well, you'll have to see for yourselves

so, i got an imac for my birthday when i turned 16, it's less than a month from my 18th birthday now, and the scroll ball on my mouse is giving out and has been for a few months. it doesn't seem to like to scroll down anymore. big problem since clearly every page i basically have to scroll down on. but overall it's pretty good, just needs a new way to not have the scroll break.. aka the newest mouse!

I have loved this mouse for years

I have had this mouse for two years. I have had only one problem with dirt that was easily fixed. Other than that it is so easy to use and much more reliable and comfortable than the Magic Mouse. It also has more functions.
