    Confused

Confused is the only word that i can come up with in reference to the scroll ball sticking, mine never has? ever and I am on my laptop quite a bit since I became paralyzed. Although I have purchased several new Apple mighty mouse replacements due to dropping them on my hardwood floors, and I do not expect them to be able to take that kind of a shock from a 3 foot drop. Other brands I have used but I keep coming back to the mighty mouse.

    Hate it!

The ball that allows u to scroll up and down always gets locked up and still rolls, but you are unable to actually scroll the page! For how much you pay for a MAC you'd think they'd give u a well working mouse along with it!

    Another mouse with fleas

This mouse has some good features, but overall it stinks. The right click button is impossibly unreliable for me. It drives me crazy. Also, the mouse is a bit too flat and small. Clicking and holding while lifting and repositioning the mouse is also difficult.

I really believe this mouse should be recall by manufacturer

Yes, unfortunately with this item Apple again becomes a victim of it's own idea of non-functional design, meaning, sometime they produce nice looking items that have no meaning whatsoever ( you know it makes me scream sometime when I use my iPod: Apple! A POWERBUTTON , PLEASE!) Does it sound familiar at all ? So, the same thing goes with this mouse, Apple, please make a real powerball! Yes, it does look nice, design is as beautiful as always , except for...you can't use this thing! I had to call Apple today to make them exchange mine, and i use cordless one ( that's where it gets expensive!) Fortunately, my Mighty Mouse was covered by external warranty, however, what am I gonna do next time, when a new exchanged one dies? Buy a new one for another $60 or so??? in a year? You know, when car makers produce a bad car, they recall them. And it costs them much more then it would be for Apple to recall a bad-designed mouse, so may be for once we could get something fixed and exchanged with a better product by Apple? That would be nice, wouldn't be?

Terrible Scroll Ball - I'm on my second replacement mouse

The mouse looks great and obviously goes with the computer, I didn't only buy the mac because its a mac but I also bought it for looks. The mouse is terrible, the scroll button keeps on malfunctioning, I am on warranty but its such a hassle to keep on complaining about this. I know I should get another mouse but other mice don't look as good with the keyboard... This was/is very disappointing!

Pretty much the worst mouse ever designed

I hate this thing. The scroll ball wont work properly anymore, its constantly switching between windows without my permission, the bottom just collects dirt like no mouse ive ever seen. Terrible design, terrible quality, terrible price.

    Terrible

As everybody knows by now, the scroll ball is impossible to clean and regularly malfunctions. The side buttons are very stiff and useless. It is ambiguous about a left click and a right click. Why can't Apple make a good mouse?

    Great until its inevitable end...

Great mouse, love the scroll ball and features. Lasted all of 15 months before scroll ball started acting up rendering the mouse's best feature useless. Went back to my Kensington with scroll wheel, not as nice but still working after 4+ years. Hope next generation mighty mouse fixes problem.

Mouse gates five stars when new, but I can't see paying for a new mouse every year and a half, hence the two stars.

    scroll bar

A lot of complaints about the scroll ball not working. I have a solution, as mine gets stuck from time to time and wont work. I put a little rubbing alcohol or Windex on my fingertip and roll the ball up and down. Scroll ball is fixed...works for me everytime! Would give the Mighty Mouse a 5, but only giving it a 4 for the little inconvenience.

Scrolling Wheel is a real problem

This mouse is beautiful and goes very well with other apple products. It is comfortable and operates smoothly, and maybe I should mentioned that the side buttons some times go crazy and getting so sensitive.
However the main issue is scrolling wheel which is nice when it is working and frustrating when it is dirty. Someone suggested to clean it by a piece of paper which is ... (blahblah), yes it sometimes works for short time but if it is very dirty you need to open your mouse and clean inside, which I did it yesterday ( the mouse is sealed and you need to broke the bottom's ring) and now it is working perfectly.

All in all, a great mouse.

I've had this mouse for over a year now, and all in all I have to say it's a great mouse. It's not perfect (hence 4 stars), yes the scroll ball occasionally stops working, but that's not enough of a flaw to write the mouse off. I've used other mice in the past from different manufacturers who all had there own inherent flaws, some with similar problems.

In my experience, when it does stop scrolling, it's easy to clean and get working again. All I've ever had to do is take a lint free cloth and roll it around the wheel firmly and vigorously for a few moments and it's functioning fine again for a couple months. If you use an alcohol swab for a couple rolls first, then switch to the cloth, it seems to clean even better. I'd say the features and functionality outweigh this minor flaw by a long shot.

    That's the bad, and for the good;

It scrolls in all directions with a clickable scroll wheel, has right/left click buttons, and right/left side buttons and all the buttons can be completely customized by assigning them to do virtually whatever function you want.

These capabilities are all incredibly valuable to me and I just don't see another mouse out there that can match these features and still provide an ergonomic, comfortable experience. That's right I said it, ergonomic. Personally, I find this mouse to be one of the most comfortable ones I've ever used.

    Yeah

These are great calendars: you know it's been exactly 13 months since you got it because that's when the scroll wheel dies.

    Great idea. Horrible execution.

    What a failure!

I bought this mouse from a friend since he sold with very good price. Now I know why he sold it cheap. Everything on this mouse is unreliable. The scroll ball is a nightmare to use. It doesn't have the clicking action like mouse from the rest of computer maker. Reading/browsing line by line is not easy by scrolling the ball. And the size is so tiny, it's really hard to make a detailed movement using the scroll ball. The side button are useless. Pressing two side buttons on this mouse is not easy, you don't get the fell of pressing. Event the shape is way too flat compare to normal mouse, it doesn't fill the palm of your hand (ergonomically wrong). Just a suggestion, before buying this kind of toy stuff online, better go to any retailer/apple store, and feel/test it for yourself. It looks great, but now it end up in my cabinet dusty. Totally not recommended! Get a real mouse like logitech or microsoft!

    Incredible features, bad design.

I love using this mouse, but it drives me insane. The 360 scroll ball breaks so easily. It just stops working randomly. But, when it works, this mouse is very fun and helpful to use.

    Broken Mighty Mouse

I am a convert from the PC world and love my imac of 18 months. My only issue is the Mighty Mouse. At about six months the scroll stopped working. Due to it not being designed for taking apart to assist in cleaning, I took it back to the shop. They took it up stairs to the Genius Bar to blow high pressure air through it. It helped, but never really sorted it.
I have cleaned it as directed and I am not a heavy handed user, but a disappointed one, that such a small, but relatively expensive part should blight my enjoyment and conversion to the mac world.

    Agree

This mouse is awful. Scroll ball is completely broken and is now interfering with left click so that it is instead interpreting left clicks as scroll ball clicks.

    Awful.

    Scroll Ball Failure

This is the one Apple product not worth buying. Apple needs to fix the scroll ball problem, until they do, don't spend your money on this.

    Don't Buy.

Track ball will break shortly after you buy it and can't be fixed. Incredibly overpriced and substandard product. Of course, if you use it with unpowdered latex gloves it "may" work longer. Just a horrible design to have a ball you can't clean Apple might as well go back in time and start selling it without the ball again because that is what you end up with anyways.

    Second time BROKEN

This is the SECOND time my Might Mouse (model A1152) is BROKEN! The first time, it was when my iMac was only a couple months old so Mac replaced it. Now I am past warranty on the parts. It is the SAME malfunction BOTH times which is that the marvelous scroll ball will only scroll up but not down.
