    Wire TOO SHORT

I love the way the mouse works but I think it needs at least 6 more inches on the cable to be useful.

Clever & pretty but technically flawed mouse

Lovely looking mouse with lots of clever features for the Mac. I'd easily give it the full 5 stars without 2 annoying flaws:
    - every few days the scroll-wheel gets stuck (usually down-scroll) and has to be released using the upside-down roll-around technique
    - the optical sensor is much more sensitive to desktop surfaces than my PC mouse and jumps the pointer to the corner of the screen at random intervals

    Works great.

Thinking of buying one as a gift since my 18 month old my mouse has been perfect. After reading some of the poor reviews I thought I would add my experience. I carry it back and forth to work everyday, it is beat up, scratched, covered in pencil dust and works like new.

    DRIVES ME NUTS!

well this is a review from someone who is so passionate about MAC that he/she usually NEVER allows something to find!
    but the mouse is CRAB!!
not only that the balls dies nearly immediately and i hardly can use it but the WORST is that this mouse seems to have something magnetic in it that it jumps wherever it wants. annoys if you want to click somewhere and it becomes alive and jumps all around the screen!

    APPLE DO SOMETHING!!!

    Disappointing

I love this mouse, it's amazing, but it has one down fall. The ball is all I have to say. It stops working and it's really annoying when you want to scroll but you can't. I recently got a new mouse to replace this one, but I'm still willing to get another apple mouse if they fix this issue.

    Love it!

I have 3, 2 at home and 1 at work. Occasionally the scroll ball will stop working in one direction or another, but all that is needed is an alcohol swab. Rub over the ball in random directions until it starts working again. This cleaning usually has to be done maybe every 6 months.

Oh. I thought i was the only one scammed!

    Dear Apple,
You've made some amazing products that everybody loves. But why is it that everybody who owns an imac lost the use of their scroll ball. Yes maybe if we all had a sink located right by our computers with really strong soap to clean away the parasitic germs that destroy the use of that OH SO SMALL BALL......I know, i know Apple i'm thinking the exact same thing you are. "well, I guess it was a wise choice not to include a free 1 year warranty on that specific product." Hmmm, what i'm wondering is why this mouse is still in circulation. How many years has it been and you still can't come up with a mouse that lives up to its name? I guess it isn't so mighty after all, is it Apple? So should i go with your oh so expensive $50 mouse this time, or should I keep my wallet thick for a little bit longer and go for the $20 mighty mouse? I'm sure if it broke in less than a year, at least i could say "hey you know what, it was only $20." So maybe i should buy two of the $20 which would probably be the smartest thing I've done in regards to the apple company. You should know buy now that not all of your customers are wealthy.Thank you.
    Your customer forever

    Works well for 6-9 months

The mouse works well until about 6-9 months when the scroll ball will stop working in one direction due to dirt buildup. Even if you clean the mouse frequently this will happen. The worst Apple product that I have used. Design over function.

    Useless Scroller Ball

The scroller ball dies within weeks. The first to go is the down function. Any gunk of your fingers will be sucked down into the mouse and will forever prevent the ball from making contact with the interior parts. Love the mouse but hate the parts.

    Great while it lasts

This mouse is awesome to use, but the scroll ball's build quality is poor. It stops working within a year (based on experience from 2 mice).

    Piece of junk!

For such an expensive computer system, it should come with a mouse that lasts longer than 6 months.

    Nice Mouse but...

This mouse feels nice and for the most part is fully functional (for my requirements). It is a shame that after just over one year the scroll has stopped working as mentioned by others in this area.

I pay up for Apple products because they work. This time I am not sure if I will buy an apple mouse again until this is revised and fixed. Real shame as the product worked well for one year.

    Not too impressed....

After 3 years I am on my third Mighty Mouse.... Gets dirty very quickly. The next one will definitely be a third party mouse.

    Mouse on a Short Leash

The cord on the mouse is so short that it is like having a leash on you pet, but you must carry your pet because they can not reach the ground. The keyboard cable is short too. For some of the most expensive computers on the market, you would think a little more cable on both mouse and keyboard would be wise. Are they trying to sell more wireless mouse and keyboards or saving money on wire or what?

Super Sexy But Terrible In Bed

Awesome! 360' scroll! Rick click! Squeeze! Center Click! Hyper Minimal Design!

    NO NOT AWESOME!

    1. The scroll ball clogs in 2-3 months. You have to 'break' it open, waste an hour of your time, super glue it back together only to have it happen again in a month. Or buy a new one.

    2. The right click button only kind of works. I don't know, maybe it's my hand but both of the Mighty Mice that I have purchased (Yeah I bought two of these things) the right click only works half the time. You have to hit it in just the right spot or it left clicks.

    3. Squeeze. Pointless. Does anyone use this?

    4. Center Click. Try apple+tab. It's faster.

    5. Hyper Minimal Design. Ha!

Apple's idea of efficient, minimal design has nothing to do with the way the thing actually works. It looks like it works. Trust me it doesn't. When the second one had the same issues the first one I didn't bother fixing it. I went out and bought the ugliest $13 mouse I could find and guess what? IT'S AWESOME!

    the famous disposable mouse.

i owned the wired version, scroll wheel gets clogged. it's fixable, but then it gets so clogged it can't be repaired. at this point it is usually past its warranty.
for many users it is confusing because they don't know to lift their left finger to right click. my year old wireless mighty mouse has officially reached the point where the scroll ball is completely ruined, it no longer works. apple makes the greatest electronics money can buy, but they are historically complete failures at mice. if you aren't convinced and still want one, consider this an annual payment because you will be buying another mouse very soon.

Logitech or even Microsoft mice better

These things break all the time. Most recently, my "left" button lost it's ability to hold (i.e. while pushing down, the OS would think I had released the button after about 3-4 seconds).

    Disappointing

I'm very surprised with the build quality (or lack of it) with this. Apple products are usually top quality but this very disappointing. The mouse makes 'creaking' noises when even the slightest ammount of pressure is applied to it. Also it is not very accuarte or steady, the pointer sometimes jumps accross the screen for no reason, even on a pro mouse mat. The touch sensitivity is unreliable too, when using it on primary and seconday click mode it often does not register the seconday click. One problem I have not encountered is the scroll ball issues that everyone else seems to experiencing. To me, that is the best feature and the main reason why I am still using it.
