USB does not work with Olympus TG-810

I give two stars because the USB connection doesn't work with my camera. The iPad (1) gives a message about it can't supply enough power for the accessory and won't allow the camera to connect. So the USB adaptor is useless to me. (note the camera does charge from the USB port when plugged into a computer - the battery was charged when I tried this connection) Luckily my photos were on the SD card so I could use the card reader to pull the images. That is the only reason for the two stars - otherwise it would be no stars. I'm rather surprised as Apple usually does a much more thorough job than this.

    iPad 2 USB port

It works well on my canon, and I have used it on iPhone as well and looks perfect!
But the only issue I got in this product is it doesnt work on all different brand of phones coz I've tried it on myphone to get some pictures but it didnt work at all one more thing I wish there will be an update that I can transfer pictures from my iPad at the same time I import pictures . But overall it will give u an ease from not using your computer.

Conflicting - Same SD card works in slot but not by USB

Connected my camera through USB cable and there was an error msg saying 'too much power used'. Import cannot be done.

With the same SD card plugged into the SD slot, it imports perfectly.

Yet to test the speed as I imported only 10 photos.

Works well with a plug and play keyboard. (Tried for fun).

My first usage, unsure if I shd seek more help or get it refund as I cant sync my XD and micro sd cards with the usb camera link without additional device.

Have to buy more accessories? Come on Apple!

As a photographer, I have always been a huge fan of Apple. Not any longer. Apple has in my opinion, chosen money over customers and quality. Buy an Ipad and you will need to spend lots of money for apps. which are free with HTC, and access. to be able to use the access. you just bought. Taking my Ipad back today along w\all the access. I had to buy. No more money games!

    Frustrated

I bought an Ipad 2 and camera connector kit for my overseas trip. The camera connection turns off my Olympus T-100 saying it uses too much power. When I try the SD card holder nothing happens at all. I will be returning it to the shop when I get home. There was no literature to say it only works on certain cameras.
Very disappointed in my first Apple product purchase

    This thing blows

Followed all instructions. I tried 3 ad cards from different cameras and the USB attachment. Neither worked.

Good but a bit too pricey.

It's the best companion for your iPad or even iPhone.

Works with digital Canon EOS Rebel XTI

Just bought this and tried it out. The USB works great with my Canon digital camera. However, the SD card reader does not. The SD card for this camera is too large.

Downloading them was simple. All I had to do was plug it in, turn on my camera and the iPad automatically brought up the Photo app. I chose the pics I wanted and pressed import, and there they were!

Would have loved to be able to use the SD card reader, but I'm okay with just using the USB. Great product!

    JUST PICTURE IT

BEING ABLE TO JUST PLUG IN YOUR SD CARD RIGHT INTO THE IPAD2/ OR EVEN THE FIRST IPAD. AS SOON AS YOU PLUG IT IN, THE PICTURES AND VIDEOS ON THE CAMERA, AND POP RIGHT UP ON THE SCREEN. DON'T HAVE THE CABLE TO HOOK MY PARTICULAR CAMERA UP TO IT YET , BUT THERE IS A PLUG IN FOR THAT, TOO. I LOVE IT. YOU CAN EDIT WHATEVER IS ON THE SD CARD, TOO. MAKES DELETING PHOTOS OFF THE CAMERA A LOT EASIER. THANKS APPLE FOR MAKING COOL LITTLE GADGETS LIKE THESE, ANOTHER MUST HAVE.

    Works Great, but......

In response to comments from HL from Corona I like to mention that I experienced the same problem at first. You won't be able to import any pictures you renamed into another format. I imported pictures to my iPad - some of them imported and some not. The second time it wouldn't work either because I had only the renamed pictures left on the sd card. Then I found out that I couldn't import any pictures that I had renamed (like IMG_263 into Vacation2011). When you rename these pictures back to their original format, you will be able to import them.
    Try it.

    LOW MARKS FOR VIDEO

I purchased item because it states h264 codec is acceptable. I have 550d that outputs to h264 video codec and shot 1080 and tried to transfer. It downloads fine but does not play. I get a grayed out screen labeled MOV. I tried two different cards and also shot 720. No Success. Cards sandisk class 10 4gig and transcend class 10 32 gig. photos work fine but i need video. i want to do some quick edits with imovie and upload. Senior tech support has offer no solutions but states that some folks have had success while others have not. We did hard reset of device and still not success.

Doesn't work with USB card reader

The limitation of 20 mAh instead of 100 mAh prevented my USB card reader (connected to the connection kit's usb port) from working. Is it planned to increase the voltage of the interface in an update? At the moment it's completely useless for me, as I'm taking pictures on a compact flash card.

    Apple?

Canon 40D + USB Connection - Transfers photos to iPad easily!

Was skeptical at first because I could not find a list of compatible cameras for this accessry. But I bought in a "crunch" situation and it worked 100%! 29.99 is a little high, but it does the job! In the package there are 2 pamphlets for product info and in one I noticed this on the bottom of page 4... "To see which cameras are compatible with the iPad Camera Connection Kit, go to: www(dot)apple(dot)com/support/ipad
    Hope this helps! Good luck!

Works great on Panasonic Lumix LX5

Both adaptors work flawlessly when I connected my Lumix LX5 using the USB adaptor and when using the SD card adaptor. Very easy to use and it makes downloading pictures into a hard drive very easy. There are two choices, either import all pictures or import the selected pictures. There is also an option to delete the pictures after importing them to the ipad.

I read another person's review saying how the USB could be used for other devices other than the camera connection. I am slightly addicted to external hard drives so I tried connecting my WD portable hard drive and desktop external hard drive to the ipad and neither worked. Portable hard drive gave "too much power required" error and the desktop hard drive didn't even load up. I tried using a small flash drive but that didn't work either.

    Awesome! I love it.

I have had the product for about a month and have no complaints. I have used it to pull images from my Canon 5D MkII, SD cards, an older Canon ELF and my IPhone 4 and they all worked great! It will copy the video from the 5D MkII but the iPad will not play it, however I read about that before hand and it's not a big deal.

On a recent camping trip I used it to pull pictures and video from the iPhone to the iPad so I could show everyone in our group. Needless to say that was pretty popular. I also used it to back up my images from the 5D as it copies raw (CR2) as well as JPEG files. It's much handier than hauling a laptop around. And, I saved the day when I accidentally formatted a memory card but luckily I had backed the images to the iPad earlier. Using a free piece of software called "iPhone Explorer" I easily copied the images from my iPad back to the computer.

    Did not work

I tried this and it worked with difficulty once, the second time not at all. I get photos now into my ipad via web albums, but can't use the ipad to download photos when traveling.
