    Great to bring on vacation

With this camera connector kit, I no longer need to bring my laptop or buy extra SD cards when I go on vacation. I just unload the photos from my camera onto the IPad, and I'm ready to fill up my SD card again. I can later import my photos onto my computer at home from my iPad. I tried both the SD card reader and the USB connector, and both work great.

    very useless

I bought this thinking that I can transfer photos from my computer to my ipad via SD card more easily without going through itunes since it always require making extra folders and messing up my own organizational scheme. Like in the case of a previous reviewer, this dumb adapter only allows transfer of photos that is saved DIRECTLY from your camera, NOT your computer. Why make this restriction when it is completely UNNECESSARY! I have so many photos that I want to transfer to my ipad without messing with itunes. Thus, I am returning this product as soon as possible! DO NOT buy this product unless you're thinking of really just transferring photos straight from your camera, nothing else.

    Not impressed

The kit arrived with this mornings post, I tried my Panasonic camera, no problems, tried my Nikon D80 no problems. Then tried the SD adaptor, could not get it to recognise the SD card, infact tried 4 different cards then a micro SD card from my phone in an adaptor. Tried switching iPad off and on, no luck. The strange thing is, my Mac laptop and Windows PC read the cards with no problem.

    Good device for photos

I purchased this kit before a trip to London/Paris. I decied to go without my usual laptop to download my pictures each day. Instead I took my iPad and this connector kit. The iPad, via the SD part of the kit, downloaded the images into my iPad 64G device without and modifications using the RAW format from my Nikon. When I did get home, I easily imported the photos into Apeture for editing, etc. Without this device I would have needed my laptop which I didn't want to lug around. I would recommend this device for this purpose alone.

Worked great for my photo shoot

Perfectly wonderful. I plugged it in and uploaded the shoot pics that were in raw. It was nice to have a backup just in case we had formatting issues with the card. Or...heaven forbid, my camera fell. You cannot re-do wedding I do's.

Well... Apple should rename it "iPad SD Connection Kit"

When I tried plugging in my Nikon D80 to my iPad 2 via. USB I got a pop-up saying the camera required too much power. I tried the SD reader adapter and It worked great. I still would not recommend it.

    Great product!

Bought this today and it's a great product. You'll get two adapters for the price of one and with the USB adapter you even can connect your iPhone to your iPad to import photos/videos. The only disadvantage of this is that you first need to import your photos/videos to watch them in full screen.

Useless because of Apple’s control issues

This did not work the way I expected please read. I purchased this for my wife because she wanted an easy way to import pictures to her iPad without going through iTunes. I guess it is not the connector’s fault but rather Apple’s control issues. Apple has written their software to ignore any photo not saved to the SD card by a camera. This means we can’t save photos from my computer to the SD card and import them to the iPad. The only way is through iTunes. I first have to move the photos from my computer to her computer (where iTunes is) and then use iTunes to import the photos. Why on earth did Apple disable the ability to import photos saved to SD cards by anything other than cameras? I did find I can trick it to import the images if I rename the photos using the same naming schema as my camera uses. Extra work I am not willing to do. I don’t understand why Apple would do this. They actually had to do extra programming to make the app work or “not work” as the case is. I am returning this product tomorrow! Apple please grow up and let your customers use products they way they want and not the way you want them to use your products.

    Amazingly convenient

Very convenient transfer of images to my Ipad in a very portable device. I expect to fill my 8GB card in my camera in an upcoming vacation; this will be a very convenient way free up space to take more pictures/videos. A++ accessory, arguably a necessity!

    GET IT RIGHT APPLE!

I bought this camera connection kit so I could import videos from my camera to iMovie on my iPad 2. The videos are compatible, they show up in the photos app but when I go in iMovie they don't work! I rarely give low ratings especially on apple stuff but if you pay 25 quid for a piece of plastic you expect it to work as it should! Apple... Fix this please!

    Good for iPad 1st generation

This accessory is a good one IF you DON'T have a camera on your iPad. But if you have an iPad 2, this seems like a pointless purchase. If you have a lot of pictures on your SD card though, and you HAVE to have them on your iPad, this iPad Camera Connection Kit IS RECOMMENDED.
-Recommendation varies based on situation: average recommendation-

    Great for assignments

Just got this thing the other day and have to say its a must!

I'm studying design and try to do as much of my assignments on the the iPad itself with pages etc. and use a lot of pictures within them. I found it very frustrating that I had to sync my iPad with my PC every time to get pictures to the iPad for use within the apps.

This little accessory solved all my problems. Its fast, small and could not be easier to use.

I love it! I don't know why i didn't get one months ago!

    Disregard negative reviews

I'm sorry I paid attention to several reviews that said this camera connection kit would not work with the latest iPad upgrades--because it DOES. Erroneously believing there might be a problem,I took my iPad 2 and an SD card to the Apple store and the card reader they had transferred photos quickly and competently. At the time my iPad 2 was running iOS 4.3 and now that I've upgraded to 4.3.1 it still works fine. The alleged power problem referenced by other reviews is not a problem for me. The clerk did say, however, that only photos could be transferred and I have yet to check that out. It's a product that does what it promises and that's good enough for me.
