    Works greate for me!

I've been using this with my MacBook Pro for about 6 months and it has performed perfectly. The magnet is strong enough to stay attached, weak enough to release without dragging my mac across the table the couple of times someone has tripped over it, and the cord boots seem to provide a lot better support than the adaptors for my previous MacBooks.

    Constantly Detaches

This charger is horrible. I had no problems with the MagSafe 1 which I used for 3.5 years without problem. I've had this new MagSafe 2 for my new computer for just a few months and I have had constant problems with it. It's fine if the computer is stationary on a flat surface, but this is a LAPTOP, it's meant to sit in laps and other surfaces and to be movable. As another reviewer said, just the tiniest bit of movement or the smallest bump and the charger detaches. It's extremely frustrating.

These people must not have owned PC's in a long time

This is an amazing power adapter. It does exactly what it is supposed to and I have never had any issues with the cord falling out without there being a reason. In fact this cord has already saved my laptop!! I have two kids and two dogs and this cord gives me peace of mind when I charge my laptop. One of the kids accidently got caught in the cord when my laptop was on the kitchen counter and the plug just popped right out with ease. The other result would have been my laptop falling three and a half feet off my counter on to very hard tile floor which I am sure one of the following would have happened; a broken screen, cracked or damaged the case, knocked something loose on the inside, or just completely ruined my laptop. I am finally a new apple customer and am so happy I have finally changed b/c my last two non-apple laptops I had to replace where the power cord connected to the laptop b/c they were ruined from being anchored so tightly and deeply into the laptop giving no room for play. This is an expensive fix as well not just pocket change and sometimes it isn't worth fixing just purchasing a new laptop. My fathers laptop which is non-apple has the same issue right now and you have to get the cord just right to use the power cord and even then it cuts out constantly. My girlfriend had the same issue with her non-apple laptop and ended up going apple which is also why I am now a life long apple customer. In the event that i have to purchase a new charger due to wear and tear, so be it. I understand the real cost of not having the magsafe 2 charger and it amounts to way more than 80 dollars and potentially the cost of a new laptop. Take the bad reviews with a grain of salt and do your research and make up your own mind. Think how many apple laptops are out there and how few bad reviews there actually are when you look at the big picture. Plus factor in the people who just enjoy complaining, don't take care of there equipment, and realize how good of a charging system it actually is compared to the alternative.

    Terrible power cord!

Tonight my 2013 Macbook Pro died due to the cord not charging my computer. I tried other outlets around the house, sure that it could not possibly be a dead power cord. My computer is only 7 months old and I need a new cord already???? Ridiculous!

I wasn't happy with the cord in the first place as it NEVER stayed connected! Now I have to shell out nearly a hundred bucks to buy a new power cord that I don't even like???

Fix this defect, Apple!! We expect better from you!

    Poor show from Apple

I completely concur with the previous Gentleman's comments; we have a MacBook Pro and a Mac Book air and have gone through two cables in less than two years. I have an old Dell laptop which has been carried all around the world and the cable is still going strong 4 years on - Apple it is a very poor show. At £65 a cable it is pure day light robbery!

Unable to connect sparingly after 6 months of use

Unable to connect sparingly after 6 months of use, fortunately I have Applecare that takes care of the warranty. Got a new replacement. Hopefully last longer than 6 months.

    Fraying

My charge cord began fraying internally after a few years and I had to order a new one. The cord was seldom ever taken from the wall and began fraying from what seems like very light use. If there were other options for charging, I would have switched. As it is, I had to buy the same product that left me unsatisfied to begin with. I think it's odd that my computer still functions like new despite heavy usage (I'm in engineering school) but the charge cord, which is much simpler, is causing problems.

    Magnet too weak

The magnet is simply too weak. I believe all other comments point out the same problem. This is simply unacceptable - if anyone from the Apple engineering team is actually reading this comment, please consider redesigning the adapter and while you're at it, make it cheaper? Very thanks.

Zero Stars: Lasted Less Than 9 Months

Do not believe that the cords can be wrapped around the block. The shielding gave way and the cord failed in less than nine months. The magnetic connector falls off far too easily. Now one of many annoyances: if I had know that this could happen, I would not have purchased the Mac. Regrettably, Apple does not accept a zero star rating.

Would give it 0 stars if I could

The end constantly falls out, and i've never had one last longer than a year. Also, you'd expect more quality for $90

    Let's just call it DEFECTIVE.

Time to stop dancing around the issue and just call this charger what it is--defective. I The magnet is so weak that during a normal 3 hour session using my MacBook Pro Retina it detaches several times, a problem I never experienced with the charger that attached flush to my previous MacBook. Apple needs to recall this component immediately and replace with one that doesn't have inherent design problems. After spending 1500.00 on a new computer, I expected an excellent experience which has not been the case. Apple, fix this problem.

    Total BS

Apple dropped the ball on this, I already have had replaced this item twice. Just now I found out that there was a recall on this product but I never received any notification from Apple! so I missed the deadline. Terrible bad product with an absurd price.

Alright, but not as good as the old one.

It definitely charges my MacBook Pro 13" with Retina very quickly, but it seems to fall out a lot more frequently than the previous generation Magsafe charger.

Perhaps they were REALLY trying to make sure if someone tripped over the cord that the new lighter MacBooks would not come flying off of the desk.

Hopefully in the future the L shaped Magsafe adapters will come back!

    A significant step backwards

The massive number of bad reviews demonstrates that Apple screwed up with this product.
I'm surprised they haven't addressed the problem yet. The previous version wasn't perfect but it worked much better than this one.
If you are shopping for a replacement, consider getting a v1 MagSafe adapter and the $10 adapter. It's a better alternative.

Please go back to the drawing board.

As stated above, it falls out. Constantly. Don't let the cable get even slightly tangled either. Any inevitable kink will surely sever any charging ability whatsoever. Never fear though, they are only $80.00 to replace.

    Doesn't even deserve one star.

Apple should be ashamed of this garbage charger. I've gone through 2 in just a couple of years. My school program makes MacBooks a mandatory, and every single person in my class has the same issue. You'd think they would pay attention to their reviews and make changes to improve it. The fact that it's nearly 100$ is heartbreaking, considering it likely won't last long.

    JUNK!!!!

This is my third time replacing the power adapter. I have wasted hundreds of dollars on this awful cord. I love my mac, but I will never buy another one because of this problem. This should be embarrassing for Apple.
