    Extremly bad

I've bought my MBA in the morning charge it once and in the evening time it stoped working. Just break. Apple should better look on the quality of their products.

Awful and not up to Apple standards

When I opened my brand new Macbook Air several months ago, I had no idea that this cheaply made adapter would be so frustrating. I finally learn to live with the flimsy connection and awkwardness of function. Then today it simply stops working. SO there is another $80 to Apple--cause there are no other options. This alone would prevent me from buying a mac laptop in the future. And this comes from a loyal customer, who has used Mac exclusive since 1990.

    V2.0? WHAT THE *****

ok so i just got my new macbook air 5 days ago and it came with this cr@ppy charger...

like everyone says its weak as a baby and the L shape was the best!

after TWO days my charger is not working unless i move the wire...

THEN TWO days later charger not working at all.....The charger is 4 days old and has stopped working....under LIGHT use...i dont understand it all at...

now i gotta take time out of my busy day to go to the apple store and hope they replace it for free and pray that the newer one at least charges my computer.

i would give ZERO STARS....it doesnt make SENSE...V2.0???

    Worst Apple product or accesory

This is like a bad dream. When I saw the reviews I thought they were joking. I feel like sending the entire laptop back because of the adapter. It falls off for no reason and gets in the way. Apple needs to do a recall.

    Compact and light weight

The 45W MagSafe 2 adapter was included with my new Macbook Air notebook PC. Definitely a huge improvement over the brick which accompanied my former brand X Windows notebook. The powerful attachment magnet holds the charge cord firmly in place. No complaint. The flip out ears used to store the charge cord function well but durability remains to be seen. Deduct a star because the AC power cord seems much to brawny and unwieldy for the task at hand. The addition of a USB charge port could be very useful at times for charging cell phones and the like.

Only read reviews of MagSafe TWO - it's TERRIBLE!

All these reviews saying they've had no problems for over 6 months are reviews for other models. The new MagSafe 2 hasn't been available for that long - only since the new 2012 MBA's came out in mid-June. The new MagSafe 2's charger attachment magnet is incredibly weak and will detach at the slightest provocation. Or unhappy thought. Or suspicious look. This product is terrible and Apple should fix this as soon as possible.

    Don't flinch

I loved the MagSafe L-shaped adapters. They were strong and unobtrusive. Why Apple chose to go back to the old T-shape AND make the magnet weaker is beyond me. So now the connector juts far out of the side of the laptop and awkwardly disconnects with the slightest movement. It disconnects if I shift the laptop (a current-gen 11" MacBook Air) in my lap. It disconnects if I pick up the laptop to move it. I gave this two stars, but was sorely tempted to give it one. It still charges the laptop when it does manage to stay connected, so in that sense it meets the minimum requirement for a power cable.

Go back to the L shape. Make the magnets strong again. Please. For my, and everyone else's, sanity.

    Broke too soon

Quite careful with my equipment. This one simply stopped working under no significant stress conditions. Quality control alert.

    Rubbish.

Within 1 week, the cable got stripped of its outer sheath after my office chair rolled over it. I expected something more durable considering it is for a portable device. Magnet disconnects pretty easy.

    magsafe 2

Used to have MBA and magsafe 1 which was great. Upgraded to new MBA with magsafe 2 and what a dissapointment.

Lead constantly disconnects with the tiniest amount of pressure or movement.

Come on Apple, sort this rubbish out!

    Disappointed!

Apple makes such great products. However, the MagSafe Chargers that comes with all the Mac Laptops (Which are the same as this one, but offered seperately) are somewhat of lower quality. I have two MacBook Pro's and one MacBook Air and after about 9-11 months the part of the cord that you can wind up on the square Load carrier always comes separated from the "protective neck" ( I do not t know what else to call it, but any Mac Laptop Owner know's what I'm talking about) on the cable that plugs into the laptop. I have had to have each one replaced at least once. I find that a little excessive Because I take extra good care of my device's and their accessories. I aways leave a little bit of slack in the cord when winding it up on the square part of the charger. I am however very thankful of Apple and their OUTSTANDING customer service have replaced each one at no cost to me when they have gone bad, no questions asked or any type of hassle that you would get with the other Brand X's out there that sell junk. Apple you are KING and I am very very thankful for putting out such GREAT computers. Just please take a look at the design of this charger and change the design of it.

    Absolutely Terrible!

If you like to work with your laptop on your lap then you will hate the Magsafe 2. Every few minutes the power adapter falls out and I have to reach down and put it back in. The problem is that with the T design is sticks out about a half inch plus another inch or so of wire before it bends away and if any part of this hits your leg, the table, etc it falls out. Apple you need to do a redesign and bring back the L adapter.

    Problems traveling

2 times this power adapter has stopped working while using it overseas. 1st time, adapter was plugged into 220v and stopped working. 2nd time I used a 220v step down converter to 110v and the replacement adapter stopped working. I absolutely love my macbook air, but not crazy about this adapter. The warrenty has covered a new power adapter both times. Thank you to apple support. Hopefully the 3rd adapter will be a charm.

    Needs replacing too often!

With all of the complaints about this power adaptor one would think Apple would get the message and make a better product. That is if happy customers mean anything to them! I've had my MacBook Air for under 11 months and this is the third power adaptor I've purchased!! I use my MacBook daily but it is used kindly. I chose this MacBook from apple because of quality and design now I am wondering why I spent the extra money if I have to constantly replace accessories. You guys need to get your act together and design a *new* power adaptor or this will be my last purchase from you.

    really close to perfection!

awesome quality as usual, it looks way better than the angled one from last year too!
The only problem I can see (which gets a little bit annoying) is the fact that the connector is kinda long so it doesn't need much force to disconnect it when pressing up or down on the cable (which happens quite often in certain position if you have the computer on your lap). the angled one from last year never did that! but it's a really minor problem and I still rate 5* cause it's awesome and the quality is there!

    Best charger hands down still

I gotta say, Apple products are amazing and just got better with MagSafe 2. I've worked at a computer store, and you wouldn't believe how many "Windows" laptops that need power cord adapter replacements. With at least half of them breaking the port inside the laptop. Apple always leading with the magnetic magsafe and is durable as long as you don't abuse the products.

    worst charger ever

This is going to be my second time getting a new charger. Something slightly heavy on the cable will make it tear apart, as the durability of this thing is awful.

    No Problems

Well both these reviews are right in their own ways. The charger is great for what it is designed to do. However you have to provide it a little more consideration than some other cords. I have broken 2 by my own fault as one I twisted too tight around the built in holder and the other my 8 year old autistic son broke after 6 months of hard use. Look apple can't be blamed for moves like that. In fact the genius bar would have replaced the first one under warranty but I don't play that way. So for my money the product is fine, and I'll put my 15 bucks a month away and replace the charger if I need too, I waste more money than that on coffee.

    power charger

I have at least 6 power adapters of very sizes. I've been using them for 3 years and never had failure. Not one time. I love these things.
