    Horrible terrible charger!

I got my iPhone 5 just a few days after it's initial release date. Probably 1-2 weeks later my lighting cable started going bad, I noticed that the lines on the metal started turning black!!! Within a few weeks, the charger just stopped working! I had to get a charger immediately
Because now I was stuck without a charger...so I went to cvs and paid about $40 for a new charger, after that it all just spiraled out of control, I am probably on my 15th charger,
I always get error messages, saying that the accessory is
Not supported!!! I have spent more money on chargers than what I have spent on my phone, it's completely ridiculous! I think that because of this problem with the chargers, it has caused my phone to malfunction and die at 20% 40% and sometimes 60% saying that it needs to be charged. I love my iPhone, but this hassle with the charger and now the battery dying is making me really upset, and regretful about my phone.

    Absolute Trash

If I could rate this garbage in the negatives it is what you would get. Phone won't charge AGAIN. 3rd cable burned up in a year meaning I will have to make AN APPOINTMENT(!) with your rude & arrogant teenage IStore "genius" to be lectured about the correct use of a charge cable to have my AppleCare fulfilled. My wife is on her 4th. Unbelievable. That along with the forced update on the phone as well as numerous other headaches with your products guarantees that we will NEVER purchase an Apple product again - which currently inventories as 2 MacBook Pros, Apple TV, 3 JunkPhone 5s, 2 Ipads and a 27" Display. The moment my contract is up you guys are gonzo!

    Shoddy product

The cable that came with my one month old ipad mini wouldn't charge my pad and I got a message saying it wasn't an Apple product. Turned out the wires on the lightning side weren't soldered properly. It certainly isn't worth $19.00. I just hope my replacement works longer.
I bought some made by another maker, but apparently Apple, in the newer IOS has blocked their use. Why not just fix the problem with the Apple product instead?

Apples chargers have always been trash.

I have a Iphone 5s and have had it for about 3-4 months and the end of the charger that plugs into the phone is scrunched up and has stopped working completely. I have had these troubles with my past iphone 4 & 4s. Instead of making new iphones, ipads, ipods. Apple need to make a more durable charger.

    Poor Design and Engineering Flaw

The cable itself and technology for rapid transfer and charging is amazing

    HOWEVER

The fact the cable within 2-3 months begins to fail is unacceptable and a VERY POOR design flaw. The area where the cable is built up before meeting the paddle end of the cable is I suffice to to support when the cable natural twists with use. Internally the cable wiring and shield pulls away from the meeting point. As the wiring and shield fray it cuts the rubberized sheath this creating not just an injury issue, but also a major potential to short and create a fire hazard.

Extremely sub par for a company who can and has engineered a society linked via iPhone, iPad and iPod.

    Cheap Quality

I have now had to replace this charger twice because the cord stopped working. Apple is very good with replacing it for you without charge but it is still very frustrating.

    Junk cable

I paid way too much for two of these cables already. They fall apart easily and they are way too short. It's a shame generic cables won't work on iOS 7, these cables are a rip off similar to what Monster is notorious for.

Apple is taking advantage of us!

So they gain our trust and loyalty with their products, then Steve Jobs passes away and the quality goes to heck. I am on my 3rd lightning to usb cable in 5 months. They do not fray like many others on here do, but simply just stop working. My old iPhone 4 cables still work and have been used heavily for years. Apple--you should be ashamed of this and make it right with everyone who has supported your products over the years. This is unacceptable. Maybe Samsung's Galaxy line is the way to go. Peace and I'm out!

    Absolute rubbish

We own 3 of these cables and everyone had disintegrated at neck of cable which joins it to connector. They are all taped up. Do not treat them any differently to any other charger I have and they last fine. Apple store told me it was my fault so I would have to buy a replacement.

    Engineered to fail.

Wished I could rate 0 stars. I've seen more of these things fail than I though believable as an Apple product. I work for a school district where the students have only had the devices 3.5 months and at least 25 cables have all had the same issue of the lightning end wires being broken and disconnected inside the sheathing.

    Disappointed

2nd charger i bought 2nd time it looks like it was manufactured badly. The wire just looks like it was made poorly. Shouldnt be a problem when the item is so costly...

Really bad product and the beginning of the decline?

I had never had a thirty pin chord go bad in ten years. I have had two lightning chords go bad in two weeks, with very gentle use. Very sad. I guess it is time to learn Android.

What are you people doing to your cables???

I'm at a loss to understand how so many people complain about going through 2-3 or even more charging/data cables in a year's time. I have two "i" devices, have left one cable in my car and the other pulls double duty in the house. The one in the house has to stand up to several plugs/unplugs per day and the one in the car deals with frequent winding and unwinding. Neither has given me any trouble for over a year. And if they had failed within a year as many people's reviews state, I would have simply asked Apple to replace it.

    Charging Cable

My charging cable (Lightning to USB Cable) goes bad and I am not able to charge my phone. This happens because of the poor quality of the charging cable. And this is my second charging cable I bought from Apple store which went bad. I guess I have to buy the third one which is ridiculous. I would really appreciate if the quality of the product can be improved rather than telling stories rather than replacing the cable. Apple is not the same anymore.

Too expensive to fray like they do.

I haven't been able to keep my cables functional for longer than six months at a time. They fray constantly which leads to spotty charging, then eventually to no charging at all. I've had to re-enforce my cables with a pen spring and electrical tape to make sure I get my money's worth out of the cables. They are very poorly made for an official Apple product. The rest of your products demand perfection inside and out, why are the cable that keeps them alive so different?

    Poor Quality

Being an Apple product I can't believe these wires are so poorly designed. I am going on my 5th cord in less than 12 months!!!! Extremely frustrated and makes me want to not buy Apple products anymore! I never had a problem with my charger cable for my 4S! I have spent over $100 just in cables alone. Very disappointed!!

1 star is too high for this terrible product

Since upgrading to the new iphone and iPad with lightning cable - I have had to buy SEVEN genuine Apple lightning cables.
