    Broken twice

So expensive and has broken twice. would give it no stars if I could. Why do they make them so expensive when they just will not stop breaking?

Shocker! Another one bite the dust ..

I was told it's the way I take it off from my iphone 5 hence the wire towards the lightning starts to crimple making it worthless! Seriously, I've had all the other iphones/ipads and never had a problem with any of my USB cable until the lightning was introduced. I (we) pay good money for the cable so start making quality cables that last!

    Awful

It works for a few weeks, them the wire comes loose and fails to connect to any kind of power source. Not worth it at all, you'd think you would get quality at this price.

Replaced the cable 3 times within 6 months.

I am so frustrated. I've paid $60 or more on replacement lightning cables within the past 3 months. I am an Apple fan, but I'm so ready to move on and buy a Samsung phone, just so I don't have to run to the store every time I can't charge my phone!!! I hope Apple is reading these comments and taking notes. This is unacceptable. I thought I was the only one having this problem, but I see I'm in good/bad company here.

    Designed to fail

As is clear from other reviews, as well as my own personal experience, this cable will break within a few months. Apple have clearly designed it this way so they can make more money out of their customers on top of their already overpriced products by using cheaply made cables which they are selling at a high price. Then to add insult to injury, they add a chip so you can't use third party cables - no other company has such poor ethics. Yes, there may be hacks to prolong the life of the cable, but that should be down to apple, not the end user.

    Rubbish charger

I've bought 3 of these in less than a year and they've all broke. I've never had to buy a charger like this in the past so the quality is very poor. The prices need to come down by far and the quality has to be made to a higher standard. I also purchased a connector for the 30 pin which wasn't an apple one but it did work until ios 7 came out and I get is message saying cable is not supported and won't work with this ipod or something. Why do I have to buy the apple charger if it breaks and is a waste of money. The 30 pin connector is better.

    Seriously Apple

The lightning cables are such bad quality its ridicules! After about a month I noticed the ends had bunched up (especially near the lightning adapter), soon after the cable would only work at an angle and then would disconnect and reconnect making my phone light up and vibrate which was very annoying through the night.

Extremely poor quality - 0 STARS

Like pretty much EVERY review on here, the wire that connects the cable to the lightening port began to crumple and bend, and now only is able to charge my iPhone when it's bent in a 'U' shape and pressure is applied to the cable... I may add it takes 10 minutes of messing around with the charger to find a position that will actually charge the stupid phone, which is extremely convenient as I find myself charging my iPhone 5 up to three times a day !!!!

For a device that relies so heavily on being recharged, I am appalled by the shoddy, poor quality of the charger cable. To add to the irony of it all, the charger began to stop working the day after my year's warranty ran out ... perfect. Bring out something better soon able, we expect better !!

    Cord Easily Tears

I had a similar problem with the old iPhone and iPad chargers, but that was nothing compared to the USB to Lightning cord. I have owned the iPhone 5 for nearly a year and have taken great care of the cord. Nonetheless, the cord bunched up at the end and is now torn. I refuse to pay $20 for a cord that I know will break in a few months. I'll simply take my business elsewhere.

    cord

This cord breaks. I have three of these and they are all breaking. It hurts to think that each cord is going to cost me $20 to replace. I am wondering if the cord is under 1 year warranty.

    Failure

I'm on my third Lightning cable now, and the first two both had the same problem. The rubber jacket begins to bunch up right at the neck of the Lightning connection. Obviously, there's a lot of torsion at this spot, especially if you use your phone while it is being charged, but there is a clear design problem if these cables are lasting fewer than six months under regular usage.

Apple, please fix the design of these cords. I like your products, and I like the easy Lightning connection, but I do not want to spend $20 on a faulty cable that shouldn't be more than $5 in the first place.

    This cord is awful

I have gone through THREE of these cords now, and I've had my iphone less than a year. I'm even careful with them...I wrap them loosely, take my case off when it's charging so there's no lateral force on the lightning cable to cord meeting spot...and still it breaks.. I hope you're happy apple, because I'm not going to buy your products anymore. Next time I'm getting a galaxy or a droid. And typically a single review constitutes hundreds of people with the same opinion. Better phone. Better cord.

    iPhone 5 chargers

I've had the iPhone 5 for about 4 months maybe not quite sure and I've gone through 9 phone chargers. After the first one broke I was very careful with the others. Never used my phone when it was on charge always pulled the charger out carefully yet they still seemed to break. Fair to say that these chargers are f****** terrible and they should make some new ones. Ones that are actually good! This is ridiculous and a waste of money. Not a happy customer.

    Absolute Trash

Want to save yourself time and money? Go buy a 3rd party lightning to USB cable. The apple cable is absolute garbage. I know a lot a people are saying, "well you just have to be careful with it." Well, one would expect a certain amount of durability of a cable for a MOBILE device. You should just be able to throw it in a suitcase/bag/purse and not have to worry about the darn thing breaking. Such a disappointment. That is all.

3 Lightening Cables have stopped working and I've had my phone 6 months

I have had to buy 3 additional cables in the last 6 months. I am wishing I had stayed with an iphone4.

This is the worst telephone I've had simply because of this cable.
