    Faster charging without longevity

My Apple issued cable for my ipod touch 5 worked well for about 3 months and then I could tell the wires were no longer transmitting the electricity properly when I would have to jiggle the cord and hold it in a specific spot to get a charge. I do find my ipod does charge much faster then with the old 30 pin models, but the cords don't last more than a few months.

    Poor Quality

I have had an iPhone since launch 6/2007. This is the first cable I have ever had to replace. I have purchased 3 since I bought the phone Oct 2012. One of the pins turn black, I need to use an eraser to clean the contacts, then 3-4 weeks later its black again. For the first time since 2007 I am thinking of leaving the iPhone.

    ill quality

Unlike original apple product USB cable, this newer cable weakens and breaks very quickly. I have a stock pile of original USB cables that are in great condition. The end that connects to the device cracks and the wires losses until it ceases to function. My iPhone 5 cable only lasted 7 months. I would save money and purchase a sturdier non apple brand cable.

    Junk

Cable straight out of a new 5s box. Dodgy connection, lots of lost syncs, incessant complaints that the cable isn't certified, even though it came from a shrink wrapped Apple box.

Simply can't understand (a) why the cables are so poorly made considering they're so expensive, and (b) we can't use 3rd party cables which might actually be more robust.

Garbage. It's ironic that I should start to loath Apple over something as simple as a charging cable but really this is an absolutely terrible performance.

    Stops charging after 3 months

I bought two extra cables with my iPhone 5 and both stopped charging after three months. The constructions is extremely poor.

    Fix This

If any apple tech person reads this please do something about these IPhone 5 lighting cables they are complete garbage. Look at all the reviews from people having to replace their cables, its borderline robbery what your company is forcing them to do. I have never thought that I would switch from my IPhone back to another brand, but you all seemed to have lost just about everything that made you great, shoddy workmanship if you can even call it that.

    Falls apart

The plastic molding around the USB portion pulls off if you remove it from the wall charger more than a couple times.

    Terrible!!

I'm on my 5th lightning charger due the a faulty wire on ever one I have bought, better of getting a 'm-best lightning to USB cable' works just the same, cheaper and have no faults so they last a lot longer and saves you money as well.

    Doesn't last long

I like the concept of making the charger, double sided and smaller, but I've noticed the quality of the product is really bad. 2 months after having my charger, my apple charger broke. I bought another and within three weeks it was already starting to tear apart. This needs to be fixed! I don't like rebutting chargers more than three times.

    NO STARS!

I am not even exaggerating, This cable has made me hate apple.
I have to keep going and changing the cable every now and then, it just stops working after a while, and its not like i manhandle it. i actually take good care of it after it happened the first few times, But now its getting a little too much. I think if i don't continue to spend more money on these cables i may be able to buy myself another phone.
This is just too bad. I GIVE THIS PRODUCT ZERO STARS!
    and nothing more than that.
And just so you know, this is not only happening to me, it has happened to four different friends as well.
and when i went and complained about it, i was told that there is nothing they could do, and that i had to buy a new cable.

this is really disappointing, and i would never think that Apple would come down to this, after all these years.

    :( MonaUK............Not Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I pre - ordered the Iphone5 august2012, once I had finally got it, the lightning cable lasted me 11months, I wasn't happy as I didn't expect this from Apple, I had to buy a new adaptor too a few weeks later which I wasn't pleased about either... Apple need to give some attention to its accessories and not just the handset... Overall its really annoying :(( I hope future Apple products are made with great care......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cord tears, slow to charge, awful

Within 24 hours the plastic around the cord tears and gets scrunched up. The wires are exposed. Shortly thereafter, it charges the phone very slowly. Poor product. Same quality as the aftermarket counterfeit wires for $2.99. I've gone through 6 or 7 in less than 1 year.

    Worst cord ive ever seen.

So on my birthday, 3 months ago I got an iPad mini. The cord lasted me about a week, my brothers cord broke and my sisters broke also. Then we had bough 2 more cords, those broke. My moms cord to her iPad and iPhone 5 also broke. The replacement one she's bought broke also. That's basically 8 cords in about 6 months. You basically bend them once and they break. At first they're good . They charge the device fast and it's easier to use. Your not fidgeting with it to get it in the charger port. It goes in the port no matter how which way it is. After a little while of use tho it breaks. The 30 pin adapters were better. They lasted a lot longer too. Almost 3 years since my sisters, my brother and I have gotten our iPad 2's and my older sister still has her original cord and works in near perfect condition. These cables need to be improved or the old ones need to be brought back.

If there was a zero option, I would choose it.

I have the same original cables to my ipad 2, iphone 4 (that I use as backup) and old ipod. Never have a problem and they last forever. Now, these flimsy made Lightning cords are another story. They just stop working. I'm now on my 6th cord for my iphone 5. The design of the cord seems to make it necessary for the wiring to get filed up at the end where the cord meets the lightning connection. Each and every one of my cords got flimsy in the same place when they stopped working. The older cords were sturdy and withstood a lot. Who ever did the quality testing for these cords should be fired.

    Terrible charger

With all the cellphones I've had in the past, I've never had a problem where the charger cord starts to break away where you could see the wires. This is the worst charger ever! I don't mishandle it but just from daily wear it weakens (SO easily) and you have to wiggle the cord so that the phone will recognize it...I've taped it now and still not working properly...ridiculous. Apple needs to make a better charger that will last more than a year. I love Apple products but not if it's going to wear/break so quickly!

I see the quality of the cable is an issue

I was very unhappy to see the connector changed from the 30 pin and chose to stick with just this instead of buying an AC adapter or 30 pin to lightning adapter. Big mistake! I've had this cable for 8 months and now it seems the wire broke. I still have 30 pin to USB and older AC adapter models from old iPods that have worked for years during the timespans of my older iPods.

I am appalled at the prices of some of the alternatives through Apple. Why should I spend so much money if it's going to break in less than a year? Apple used to pride itself in sleek designs and not having quality issues. Now it's much more flash than substance.

    HATE THIS CHARGER

Like all other apple adapters, these don't last! The exterior material used is too thin which results in the charger breaking quicker! I oblige to say that yes it does charge the device quickly and efficiently BUT I paid way too much for the device to have the charger breaking like this. I know a lot of people who have had to buy 3 and 4 of these because they simply do not last and that's ridiculous! I think Apple will have to come up with a sturdier adapter for their devices because these aren't cutting it!
