    4 broken cables

This cable is the worst thing that has ever been made by Apple!

The cables become worthless in Months. I have had 4 of them and all of them have gone bad. They start out by being finicky and then slowly downgrade until they just don’t work at all. I have to admit that first one I treated the same way as my older 30 pin cables (which were nearly indestructible) pulling it out by the wire or just not being careful. But the remaining 3 cables I have treaded extremely gently and still no luck. I have no idea why Apple can’t come out with a decent cable for their own devices. Everyone that asks about by Apple device I tell them everything was fine until Lightning came out and it’s time for them to look at Non-Apple devices.

    Garbage

The outer coating is crud, came apart within 3 months. $30 for this cheap cable when I can buy a knock off that has lasted 2x as long. I thought I was paying this Apple premium for quality...

    Horrendous

Bought the Iphone 5 when it newly came out and so far I am on my fifth cable. This is truly ridiculous. I guess Apple is living up to Steve Jobs motto of not making the accessories last in a bid to up sales on accessories after they have sold a product.

    Trash

Over expensive and horrible quality. Cheap and break or just don't make connection. Wishing I'd have bought some 30pin adapters instead cause these things blow.

iPhone 5 lightening charging cable.. HORRIBLE

I've had my iPhone 5 since Dec 2012. It was replaced in March. When they also gave me a new lightning cable bcs the one I used for under 4 months was twisted and frayed and did not charge properly. (Although other things were wrong as well which is why the phone was replaced) since then. I've been thru 12 cables. Original apple cables. Which last about 3 months. It's ridiculous. I've turned to my mophie as my only dependable way of charging whether at home or on the go. I've thought about using the adapter the small lightning adapter that can be plugged into a micro USB cable and can charge the phone that way. Has anyone used this adapter and found it to be more helpful. Bcs micro USB cables are much more reliable.. So my next trial and error test probably will be that. But for a product like apple.. I'm very surprised by the lack of quality to some of the accessories primarily the cable for my iPhone 5. It's had me so frustrated. Over and over again, the cables only last so long. Now I'm down to the last one. Which as of today. Only charges from a certain angle and if it's moved. It stops charging. Infuriating!!

CHANGE THE QUALITY OF YOUR CABLE! PLEASE!!!!!!

i just bought my iphone 5 like 3 months ago! how unsturdy is the 1m cable that came with it!
after 3mos of normal use, it suddenly changed, like u have to bend it in different sides till u get it charged! and now it is not working at all!
this is so frustrating when you just bought it, and u discovered how poorly made it was!
please improve this kind of accessory...some wire at the end looses..that's the prob i think.
look at other people's feedback.. we are having the same issues. so there is a definite need to
    improve this. thanks! >_<

    Design Flaw

Lets face it, this is a design flaw. They need to completely redesign the cable to make it stronger. I have just ordered a batch of third party cables as its cheaper to have a few spares and throw them away if they stop working than keep buying one expensive cable.

    Terrible!

I got a new iPhone 5 about 3 months ago and so far I have gone through 4 cables! They just stopped working and the wires are all exposed at the connection! I'm not rough with it either. I never had this problem with my iPhone 4S. This review doesn't even deserve 1 star considering how much money I have spent replacing cables!

    Disappointed

I've only had my iPhone 5 for 10 months and the charging cable is cracking at the end. The inside wire is showing. I never had any issue with my previous Apple products. My iPod Video charging cable is still fine after so many years! Did the quality of Apple products drop? How come your price didn't drop? After reading other comments I guess I'm lucky my lasted 10 months. Will have to reconsider purchasing another Apple product.

    Fraying

I'm really tired of my charging cables lasting for 4-6 months and then end up fraying near the end connections. I don't even pull the charger out from the cable, I pull from the connector. Doesn't even matter who the manufacturer is, i always seem to run into this problem. Why has no one attempted a fix to this issue?!

    Worst cable I've ever used.

Seriously? It hasn't even been 4 months and the cable's broken! Is this like some money making scheme where the cable doesn't even last 4 months and people are forced to buy another cable?! So annoyed.

    TERRIBLE! BREAKS SO EASILY!

Firstly ive gone through 4 cables in 8 months. The plug part is too small to hold onto and pull out of the device without pulling on the wire. I also own an iphone4 with the old cable and ive had ONE cable from when i first got the iphone for about 2 years! The old cable has way more grip that you dont pull on the wires when you unplug the phone. This new "lightening" cable breaks and the wires fray around the plug part. Also with the new ios7 it detects whether or not your cable is an actual apple brand cable and wont charge if its not! So i have to spend $25 on a flimsy piece of wire that will break in 2 months when i could buy the exact same cable for $5 and not care if it breaks in 2 months. MAKE IT DURABLE!

    Absolute GARBAGE

Apple this product is absolute garbage, I have had to replace my charger 5 times now and am getting sick of it!!!
I never had problems like this with my iphone 4 but this 'new and improved' charger is just a joke. Despicable!!!

    Worst cable on earth

White insulation around this cable, like all other cables from Apple, will break with normal use! Material is just horrendous, and if you live in a country without genius bar, Apple will not replace it, you will have to pay for another one.

Paid over 200$ on replacement cables for iPhone and Mac in the past 2 yrs. Extremely disappointed.

    Broken and frayed again

I now must replace my lightning USB cable for the 3rd time for my iPhone5, which I purchased in December. Both of them are frayed. Like some many others here, I am disappointed and frustrated with poor quality of this product.

Broken after 1.5 months of gentle, indoor use

For an iPad Mini purchased early October, the charger that came with it stopped working with no visible signs of damage. This was the second of three in the house to die. Moving on to generic 3rd party products at a third the price. Can't last any less time than these...

This new "lightning" charger is terrible

Me and my fiance's charger both started not working at about the same time. An extra one I bought that I had at work (which I never used) is already becoming faulty. Ordered two off eBay which are already not working.... Come on Apple, are you becoming greedy too?
