Wish I could give less than one star

Sure, the phone is nice and charges quickly, but after just a few months the cord of the charger ripped, exposing all internal wiring. I put some electrical tape over it as a temporary fix, but it has now broken in a second spot a little further down. Never had a problem with any past Apple chargers so I'm not sure what's going on with this. Very cheap cord material.

    TERRIBLE

I got my first ipod 5/6 years ago, and the cable is still as good as new, since then I have goten another ipod, and and Iphone 4s, cable for all work fine. For my 21st birthday I got the new ipad (december 2012) I am already on my third lead! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! Seriously apple sort it out!

    Not sure

I gave this connector only 3 stars because while it does work great and allow me to charge both my iPad and iPhone. I am about to be on my 3rd cable because I keep getting the error "Charging Not Supported With This Accessory" on my iPhone and iPad. My older cables have been through much more than these have and they still work great! I wish they worked as well as the older ones.

    Disappointing quality

The Lightning connector is fine, but the build quality of the cable is a huge disappointment. Mine has failed at the point where it connects to the Lightning end after less than a year of use, despite being careful with it. I never had to replace a 4th generation cable in more than two years of use. I'm not happy that Apple chooses to use proprietary connectors instead of something more universal (and more convenient to customers), but I could accept that decision **if** the Apple cables were reasonably good quality.

    HORRIBLE.

I've bought my fourth charger in under six months. I just plug in my iPod and leave the charger alone, but the red cable seems to ALWAYS break. I'm seriously about to lose it.

    Would not recommend

I have an iPhone 5 which I purchased in late December, the original lightning cable worked fine for a few months until it started to give me little electric shocks due to the wire near the lightning adapter starting to crimple and the wires inside appeared to be getting loose. I have looked this up online and this seems to be a very common issue with apple wires and cables. A week later the cable decided to stop working at all leaving me with no way to power my phone. I then purchased a new wire from the apple store and after just 2 months it has done the same again. I definitely wouldn't recommend this overpriced product. I am very disappointed.

    Awful

    Poor Quality

Only got the iPod seven months ago and now a second faulty lead. Both failed at the same place- the joint to the lighting connector. I think Apple are using cheap cable. Very disappointed as Apple pride themselves on the quality of their products and at £14.99 they are very expensive to replace. Come on Apple – I expect better from you.

    Very poor

I'm very disappointed that the spare cable I purchased and also the one that came with my iPhone 5 have both suffered the same issue, crumpling of the plastic sleeve at the end which then proceeds to split. I still have plenty of the original generation cables which have remained in good condition for years, what is going on?

This really needs to be fixed!

Ok, I officially hate that connector now, it's nothing else than a tax on your devices from my point of view. We have been going through about 1 new cable per month since we got an ipad mini about half a year ago. The plugs are the real problem here, they all just seem to be designed to break quickly. there is not just enough material there to keep the cable secure and protect leads from breaking. The regular cables you get are just too short for mostly anything anyway. So while trying to not get more than 3 feet away from wherever you have plugged that miserable lightning cable in, you have to be very careful to not bend the cable at the connector, because there is no reasonable protection what so ever for the cable. Yes, there is a plastic or rubber hull protruding from the plug itself which is supposed to protect the cable, but it's usually, from our findings, not doing the job at all! Cables break right at it or the contacts inside the plug seem to break. I would advice to stay away from any device with a lightning connector until they fix this!

    Useless!

Worst bit of kit from apple I've bought. I've had my iPad mini since Christmas and am now having to buy a third charger which is appalling. The first one wrinkled up at the adapter and the second simply stopped working. The cable is also definitely not long enough. Fair to say I will not be buying another one of these chargers from apple.

    Awful!

First apple change their charger and then they decide to do it on the cheap! I have at least 10 old chargers which still work fine after many years but my iPhone 5 charger has just stopped working! There is a loose connection in the cable. Very poor after only a few months use. And considering its only really ever on my bedside table this is very disappointing. Apple are just not performing like the used to!

An expensive additional expense with poor build quality to boot

    Expensive & poor quality

    Awful

The life span of these cables are 2 weeks.
I am strongly thinking of getting another phone altogether.
    Awful ,simply awful.

    Terrible

So I got my iphone5 in December and in April/may the end of my charger started to bend then a couple of days after it started to bend, it wouldn't work at all. So I had to go without a phone for 2 days before I could order a new one, £20 including postage and VAT. So to my discust last week my phone charger broke again! So I had to pay another £20 for a charger, lets hope this one dosnt brake!

    Apple must do better

Words I rarely use: But really, Apple; If you are going to introduce a proprietary product and charge top dollar, please have the common decency to produce a quality accessory and not such a poor quality cable.
Twelve months of iPhone 5 and using three different Apple (original) lighning cables. Each one has had the same faults - the cable casing stretches and distorts; the 'short' at the usb end of the cable is intermittent.
    Poor show Apple. Poor show!
