    Does not last!

These cables do not last more than a month or so- The wires have all disconnected at the solder point. The outer "rubber" started to wrinkle, from the heat, and then the wires come apart. We have an ipad2, iPad mini, 2 iPod touch, iphone 4s and iphone 5- and in the past 3 yrs we have had to buy 23 replacement cables. Side note: the power cord/data cable for my MacBook Air did the also came apart within 4 months of buying it. we've had to replace 2x since then at the tune of $60 a piece.

we asked a computer tech what is wrong and he said that apple devices tend to pull alot of heat and therefore the cables wear out faster than other cords for other devices. . We asked the Apple Genius' about them, and was told the same thing. We have yet to find a cord that works longer than a few months. When you are talking $30 a piece, I would hope they last longer! Not a happy customer!

    Not your greatest work

I like how its reversible although i have had about 5 different cords. And they keep getting what it looks as twisted near the actual plug for the iPod goes. And I do not have all the money in the world to keep replacing them. Your past chargers have been great but the pins were not satisfying.

Terrible product. Not worth it at all. DON'T BUY!!!

I have two lightning cables. Both are barely a year old, bought in November-December, since then the end of the cables have bent, the lightning end, and both do not work anymore. I was able to work my way around it until both just stopped working. It has become apparent that Apple, with all the money they have, cant even make a product worth buying. In fact, it seems they made this cable to break, which would make sense. Its hard to believe such a prosperous company won't even attempt to fix the issue. It seems that everyday another 500 people buy a new Apple product and about 465 of those people will end up spending over $100 in accessories, especially a broken charger. I'm disappointed and have always went with Apple, but next time around I'm going with Android.

    very badly made

come on Apple, sort this out. How many one star reviews do you need to recognise that you have an issue with this product ?!?!?!?
We have 2 iphone 5's in the family and both leads are broken, one of them only after a few months.

why do the loyal Apple owners have to keep on giving you money for faulty goods. Not very "Apple" is it. You don't mind paying for quality, and at £15 thats exactly what we should be getting. You can see why the eBay products sell so well.

    Lousy cord

I have had 2 cords in a year and both became limp where the cord meets the connector to the phone. I never had problems with iPhone 4 cords. Very disappointed! My husband is out trying to find an off brand & I can only hope it works!

    poor quality

i have had four of these chords and every single one has had a short near the lightning end of the chord, you need to do something about quality control/durability to make sure the chords don't become faulty within a few months of having them.

    not good enough

really disappointed with apple, never expected such fragile usb cable. i think apple should make it a bit more robust cables and long enough too so that the customers don't need to spend moneys in buying new cables every week it is broken.

    Very disappointing

Already had to buy 4 of these rubbish cables for my iphone 5 in so many months....really disappointed...I can't recall ever having issues with The older style cables that came with my 4s, ipods, & ipad. In fact some i have are well over 5years old and they still work.....This is obviously a design fault here which Apple should address.....

    Needs improvement

The Lightening cable shorts out ENTIRELY TOO QUICK! They are NOT sturdy at all. I purchased two lightening to USB cables when the iPhone 5 came out...one for home and one for my purse. I'm already buying my third cable because one has shorted out and started smoking. The old cables lasted YEARS! I still have my original cable from my iPod Classic!

PLEASE rethink the design and fix this. No one has $20 to continually throw down the drain. It would also be nice to have length options.

Only good thing is no pins

The only good thing about this charger is the no pins! I hate this cord it is too short and continues to break! I have gone through 4 or 5 chargers in the 3 or 4 months I have had it. The part right where the rubber connects to the end continues to break and short out. I never get a full charge because it is constantly shorting out.

    Lasts a few months

Terrible quality. Only lasts a few months but you are stuck with it if you want something compatible. Super short.

The last few years have shown a marked decline in Apple cables for all products. I wish they would realize without dependable cables the products are useless.

    Terrible

I'm on my third lightning cable in the past year and now this is one keeps switching between charging/not charging. These are not cheap to replace so I'd appreciate if I didn't need a new one every 4 months. The smaller, reversible design is a good in theory, but terrible in execution.

    Apple I'm not amused!

I am disgusted with these poor quality cables! My cable only lasted 4 week now I have to buy another one for £15. My old 30-pin cable last 2 years and this happened in a month, I'm very disappointed. If I wanted to be ripped off I would have visited eBay not apple. Get you're s*** together!

    Hassle.

Although I am a fan of the lightning connector and its benefits, these cables have a major drawback. I have bought at least ten of these replacement cords since I got the phone in December and they continue to fall apart. They seem much flimsier than the 30-pin was. I've had a 3 meter Griffin cord I bought at Walmart for nearly two moths and it works great! It's long but not too long and is much more durable. Plus, it fits into a Lifeproof case much easier than many other 3rd-party cords.

    Lightning to USB Cable

Love the two way thing. But, overall, this product stinks. You need to have two or three in reserve because it is going to break. I really think Apple needs to rethink this. Loved the old charger, never had the first problem.

    Rubbish

Having the same issues. Still have my original iPhone cable which works, and all the others form the 3G, 3GS & 4S, all still work. iPhone 5 cable broke within 3 months of getting the phone. Since then I shelled out on an adaptor and continue to use my old 30-pin cable. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL

    HORRIBLE

I have gone through 2 of these chargers and they break within 3 months of having them! I keep the in great condition and then they just stop working!

    Burned

I was having problem with the connection, it wasn't charging all the time. I kept using it because I did not have a back up. It ended up burning and melting near the lightening port. Glad it didn't fry the ipad or start a fire.

    I am begging you...

Please do not every do this again. if something has been working soo great for years never with problems, why on earth would you do this. i truly believe Steve would not put up for this craziness. In the last 3 months I have gone through 4 of these stupid new style plugs. You basically made something that will break very easy just by unpluging your phone. What were you thinking. Did you guys even bother to try it out at home to see how it works. Iphone 6 or "5s" better GO BACK TO THE 30 PIN, or i am seriously considering making that droid switch. I love you guys but i will not go brooke over a charger cable. lighting cable deserves a 0.5 star, i gave it a 1 because you wont let me other wise.

    iPod 5 charger is terrible.

I have had my iPod for about 6 months now and ever since I got it i have had issues with the charger and just recently the original one broke. I got a new charger 2 DAYS AGO and it has already stopped working. This makes me very upset. I have never had problems with the iPod 4 charger. I wish they hadn't switched it.
