    Complete Disappointment.

Apple needs to up their game. I've had my iPhone 5 for 7 months and I have gone through 2 cables. They work perfectly fine at the start but soon start to crimple and eventually stop working, luckily I have insurance but I'm truly disappointed, Apples products should be of higher quality and durance. I'd suggest buying a universal charger of some sort.

Please revert back to the old one!

Gonna make this short and sweet.. I've had my ipod 4 for 3 years and im on second charger... However I got a new ipad mini in december and now in july im writing this at 6 percent battery not charging because im going to buy my SIXTH charger so far. This thing has awful durability! Even at 2 star total rating apple is too arrogant to change back when everone is complaining. Please revert back! Please! You know dang well apple that steve wouldn't have let this happen!

    Frayed Wire

I love the smaller and better lightning cable, but the two cords that I have had to purchase in the four months that I have had the phone have both frayed and ceased working. I would appreciate a more sturdy or thicker wire design around the cord so the wires would not fray like they have been in my experience.

    Unbelievable!

I can't believe how bad these cables are! We have already gone through all but 2 of the six apple cords we've gotten! I've been to 3 Apple stores and on the phone and all the geniuses say the same thing: Its due to wear and tear so its your fault not ours. No warranty! I'm free to but another bad cord from them for $20! No accountability.

    LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS APPLE!!!!

This new cable is truly awful. I have had to get a new cable replacement each month because the cable breaks so often. After one of my cables broke I took it to apple and they told me from now on unplug the charger only by the plastic piece and never by the cord. Took their advice but yet again, TWO DAYS LATER my charger needs to be replaced. Only works at a certain angle and then in a week stops working all together. On to my 8th cable now and I'm sure the next one will break again. APPLE LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND THESE REVIEWS. Please rebuild this charger cable because it is not functioning properly.

    Terrible

This thing doesn't even deserve one star. I had my first cable for about three months before one day, I connected my FULLY FUNCTIONAL USB to my computer and my phone would not be recognised. I also got a "Power Surge on Hub Port" error and my phone would reconnect and disconnect repeatedly. I thought that this may be an issue with my computer so I attempted to charge my phone through the power socket and then discovered my cable was no longer functioning properly. It would disconnect and reconnect and I had to move it around to get it to work. As the days went on it just got worse to the point where it stopped working almost completely. I returned it and was given a loan cable from the mobile store. That one worked for about a week before again, it was working fine (in fact charging at the time) until I tried to plug it into my computer and it would not connect, this time with a driver error message. So I tried to reinstall the driver and it still would not work. Then, again I tried to charge my iphone via power socket and the cable would not work AT ALL. I gave it half an hour and tried again, it would charge on one side. As the days went on it got worse and worse to the point where it did not work at all. So as you see both my stopped working after a computer connection error. I returned to the store (they had received my new cable by then) and explained this to them and now they have sent my iphone away. Why must we pay all this money for such a huge inconvenience? It is absolutely ridiculous. Zero stars for this. Sort it out Apple!

    Lifespan

I find these new charging cables are certainly alot faster for charging my iPod, but the life span of these lighting charges are not at all comparable to that of the 4th generation charges, they break very quickly and very easily and not only that aren't exactly cheep to replace there causing me to spend quiet alot of money in the long term, would defiantly like to see some modifications in the product to ensure the quality and lifespan of these cable increased greatly

Worst product created by apple ever

This is by far the worst Charger they have ever made the new wire is the most faulty Piece of cra* i have ever used im going to have to spend My in my bank account on a brand new Faulty wire, This cable ruins the features in a few years you would have basically paid for a new device just from re-buying these cables

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars

    Junk

Went through 2 since Christmas. Getting ridiculous. The wires bend inside and it's garbage.

    DON'T BUY

This is the worst Apple has done ever. Try to make things "modern" and forget about quality. These cables break so easily and I'm very angry with Apple. Even with a 2/5 review, they refuse to make a new cable or to fix it.

    Poor reliability.

I have now had 4 of these cables and upon recommendation from those who work within the apple store I have made sure so not pull the charger out by the cable. Yet the same has once again happened and the wires are coming loose again and I'm not forced to pay for another cable.

    Worthless

So I've had this phone for about 2 months and the charger is already broken. I don't have a single scratch and I tend to keep things in good condition... There is no way im payin 20 bucks for something that will break in 2-3 months.. Outrageous! The reason I gave you one star is because the design is good, but the quality is s***.

    apple, what are you doing?

I have an itouch 5 and I've had it since Christmas. I've gone through 3 chargers now. YES 3! Why on earth do I have to keep buying them because you can't get your things right. I take care of them! NONE have any physical damage they just stopped working. Ugh, just a bad charger.

Very short cable --- Ridiculously Frustrating!!!

This cable is too short to be used for charging unless you have outlets on the top of your desk ... ridiculous, frustrating, etc.

Longer third party cables are available but since Apple reportedly puts special, undefined proprietary chips in their cables, choosing a third part cable is always risky!!!

Again, the whole thing is Ridiculously Frustrating!!!

    Poor build quality

I love that Apple replaced the old Dock Connector with the Lightning connector, but this cable is just plain bad. I'm very easy on the stuff I own, but two of the three Lightning cables I've had have failed in less than a year. The covering over the wiring is not durable, making the covering fail, exposing the wiring. I haven't tried a Lightning cable made by a third party, but I imagine it would more durable than this one.

    No problems with this cable

The 'two way to insert the connector' feature is great.

    Twisted and not charging

I've been using iphone 5 with the lightning charger since 6 months ago, and suddenly its not charging, the end of the cable got twisted and it seems that the wire inside is broken. i got another iphone that have been used over a year, and the charger is still working until now. I'm kind of disappointed with the charger.

    Pathetic.

I bought an iPod 5, and I took it home and the charger didn't work. I took it back to the store because I thought maybe it was just a defective cable, and they gave me a new one. 2 months later, 2 of the pins turned black and it started working on if I put the cable in on a certain side. Yesterday, my charger became very sensitive and it would only charge if i held it a certain way. Today the charger isn't working at all. I tried to plug it in but the cable got really hot and it shocked me. Now I have a hurt finger and a broke iPod. Thanks.

    Disappointing

I love my iPhone 5 (purchased about 6 months ago) and I loved my iPhone 4 (still have it and use it as an iPod) however the chargers for both iPhones are of such poor quality!! It is so dissappointing and I am so dissatisfied! I already have had to replace my iPhone 5 charger and have replaced my iPhone 4 charger 2 times. I don't understand why apple doesn't produce a reliable charger that will last More than a few months! I wish I could give ZERO stars
