Charging you're phone from a Mac

Ive bought this charger twice now and they work for a week then i get a "Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled" warning. I always charge my phone using my macbook Air.

    Quality?

As others have said, the lightning cable is really great and very convenient. However, it seems that the charger didn't last as long as expected.. In less than half a year, my cable doesn't work anymore, for the wires are broken. I'd rather give this one a 3.5, but oh well. Nothing we can do about it, but buy another one. Props to Apple for the new design, though.

FRAGILE! Dont pull on the wire when removing from the phone

My cable stopped charging, as many seem to,... the reason i discovered is the wires at the phone connector end come loose inside the plastic lightning connector (in fact the wire came out completely from the connector).

Basically when you tug the cable out of the phone you MUST grip the plastic lighting connector not the wire, otherwise over time by pulling on the wire the wiring inside the lightning connection will fail. ....

Worst thing ever to be sold

I've had my iPod 5 generation since February and I've already been through 2 chargers. The second one I've only had for 3 weeks. This is ridiculous. If my next charger doesn't last longer than a month you can forget about me ever buying an apple product again!

    Disgusted!

Can't believe that apple have allowed this cable to be given to us... Let alone sold again! Apple have really let me down and this is now my third replacement for the iPad mini in 4 months. What a joke.

    Apple... REALLY?

    Too short.
    Too expensive.
    Too weak!

I am in disbelief that Apple cannot design a more durable cable. If you're going to charge so much, make it strong and long. For the durability provided I feel cheated.

Could be Hazardous for High Users

New tablet, just under 6 months with USB lightning cable, and my son and I were electrocuted. Nothing major, but the insulation just below the reinforced 8 pin had worn a pin hole. He came to me and said, "It won't charge and it stung me a little bit". I am an idiot and got a slight shock too. The cable is worth 20 bucks, so I wanted to see what was going on inside the cord. The inside of the insulation looked browned right near the pinhole that we got shocked from. A red wire was coming lose closer to the 8 pin adapter. My daughters tablet is looking similar. Its scrunching just before the reinforced part prior to the 8 pin. I'm not a trained fire marshal, but I'm tossing her 6 month old cord also. Both kids paid a large portion of the purchase price, and they have treated the tablets very well. They can only use them in the family room, so we have seen 99% of the usage of this product.
The cable has to be in the device when the battery is low. This creates a problem due to the light weight soft outer sleeve part of the cable. I think its when they are lying on a sofa and charging. The cable needs to be reinforced further out from the pin, or an entire heavy duty cable needs to be made.
I gave it 2 stars, because we are heavy users. These problems may not occur in light usage that does not deplete the battery. We are however, very disappointed with the quality and possible safety of the chord for heavy usage. I will not buy a cheap knock off, and want other heavy users, to be aware of a possible hazard.

    Way too short!

This may be fine for just charging or syncing, but not long enough to use in bed. I like to read myself to sleep, but many hotel rooms do not have an outlet this close. Am being forced to buy an after-market 6' foot, but would prefer to buy apple -- if they just offered a 6' option!

    Very Flimsy and Poor Quality

I have gone through two of these chargers thus far since December of last year. The problem I keep having is the cord right below the part of the charger that goes into the iPod itself. After a while it starts to twist from daily use and eventually the wires inside gets messed up to the point where it no longer works. My first one that I got with my iPod Touch laster about 3-4 months, and then I had to by another one that has recently started acting up.

    Rubbish cable

These cables are absolutely useless! I am genuinely on about my seventh one now. I have had to resort to buying a pack of them at a time because they just break so easily. My latest order came today, and the first one broke within 12 hours of having it. It's really beginning to frustrate me a lot!

    Sort it out

Is sick and tired of replacing the charging cable and think its about time apple did something about it now. The 1 star review is a joke and only gave it 1 because I had too

    Very Very Poor

As expected no improvement from the sustainability of the iPhone 4/4s charging equipment. For the amount of money the phone costs, sufficient charging cables should be standard. Had no less than 4 cables in the past 6 months, now purchasing my 5th. The cable is in the plug or rarely attached to the laptop (as can update itself with wifi) the cable is not abused in anyway, hardly moves and seems to be a wire comes loose and can maybe get a final couple of charges having to wiggle it around. Totally unacceptable.

    Same Problem!!!

I have exactly the same problem as the rest, both my girlfriend and I have the iPhone 5 and for my phone the charger has already broke near the lighting adapter. We are now sharing one charger but that seems to be having the same problem where we have t keep moving the wire in different directions in order for it to charge!!!
This is awful and as someone else's review says needs to be sorted out!!!

    Worse cord ever!

I am now on my 3rd cord and having to try glue the end where the connector attaches to the phone! Same problem with all my chargers. The end of the connector keeps coming out, fraying or snaps. Ugh! I love my apple products but this is the worst by far! So cheaply made and is getting costly to keep buying cheap stuff. So disappointed with how this is made.

    Changed power a hassle

The iPad 4 purchase was exciting but we are so frustrated that this adapter makes previous apple products obsolete, but we knew that was inevitable and bought the latest design regardless. However we are furious that it can only be charged with the wall adapter and the very short cord the iPad came with. Doesn't charge in our standard USB port like all our iPods and other iPad. Now if we want car charging or computer charging we need a new higher power USB port or an expensive adapter. Shame on you Apple.
