    Terrible

The cable lasts for about 2 months than you need to purchase a new one. on my 4th cable in 6 months and i have tried taping the cable prior to use to hope it would stop it from twisting up and the same thing still happends where it just twists up and stops charging. terrible design, if you use the phone while its charging it will without a doubt make the cable start twisting and weakening.

    Poor quality

You would not expect this from Apple, the cable lasts at best a few months before showing signs of wear. I've had to tape mine up to try and make it last longer... I'm not crazy to spend £15 (are you crazy, Apple? £15!?!?!?) every time it stops working

    >:(

Mine only lasted 4 months. 4 FREAKING MONTHS! Now we have to drive 30 mins. to the nearest Apple store to get a new one. I'm lucky I bought the coverage plan.

    Worst charger ever

I purchased the iPad mini for my boyfriend for Christmas. He LOVES the iPad, however after only about 3 months the charger won't work. When he plugs it in it has to be on a flat surface or it says "charger not compatible with this device" or however they word it. It is ridiculous that the charger in these things, and the cable break so easy. I couldn't afford to purchase apple care and now apple won't listen to my problems with the charger and the mini. This is obviously a widespread problem and I can see from reviews online. Apple needs to fix this, for future customers and all of us who got screwed with this new system.

    Short life span

the end of the charger has broken with 3 of my chargers within a month or two, everyone i know who uses these chargers has this problem, for such an expensive change and seeing as no other retailer sells them cheaply, i find it terrible apple decided to change to such a filmsy system. However, it has amazing transfer speeds and charges pretty well but if you're will to fork out for a new one every few months then your choice.

    *sigh*

My lightning charger broke after two months, and I just ordered a new one. It didn't even show signs of breakage, it just literally stopped charging. I love the fact it's reversible, as that really bothered me when plugging the 30-pin one in. I can tell I'm going to have to buy lots more this year... Now, I'm stuck without a phone for a week. Yay.

    Worst Apple Accessory Ever

I bought my iPhone 5 sometime in January. It is now April and the charger has stopped functioning. The inside insulation for the wiring began slipping after just a few time of use, so much that the end of the charger where the phone plugs in is extremely flimsy. I imagine the wires finally gave out. Really disappointed and since its so new hardly anyone has these charges.

    Poor

I've had the iPhone 5 since December and the cable has broken down already however from reading other reviews I guess I'm fortunate it lasted that long. One word of advice to cable owners, if there is not much physical damage to the cable itself and is clear to see its just stopped working without you interfering with it (e.g cutting) you can swap it for free at apple stores and replace it for a new one!

    Terrible quality

When i first purchased my iPhone 5, it came with this and after about 2 months, the rubber layer started to rip and eventually lead to the wire being completely torn. After i purchased a second, after 3 weeks, it started to malfunction and the wire would only work if i had in a specific position and after 5 weeks, it stopped working. After the third purchase, it had the same problem as the last one but lasted almost 3 months. I feel as this should not happen as often as it should and is rediculous

    Terrible

I've had this cable for a total of 4 months now... All well and good... Until it stopped working out of the blue. I connect it to my computer and my phone seems to be having a fit, I mean it vibrated every two seconds, changing from a state where it was charging to not charging and vice versa. Charging my phone is barely possible now, I even tap the wire, and the phone stops charging.

While I love the charger for the fact that it can be connected to the phone whichever way, it certainly needs some improvements.

I, like many many others, have has these issues with this USB cable, all starting with the unsightly crumple at the area next to the lightning cable, and ending with the unfortunate issue that pretty much turns this (15 POUND!) cable into a piece of junk. Sort it out apple, I'd have thought with the amount of money you make that you could do a better job at making a reliable USB cable.
