    Poorly made

I have only had my iPhone 5 for about half a year and the cable is now not working I am going to have to buy a new one tomorrow, lets see how long this one lasts. Apple get on the ball here and redesign the lighting cable please because this is poorly made.

Love my iPad, hate my lightening charger

I am so glad I saved up and bought the iPad, but within a month the charger cable had a small crack in the flexible wire covering, and after 4 months of gentle, adult controlled use, I have to replace it. The wires inside must have cracked since I can only get a charge power from bending the cord at a 90 degree angle about 1 to 2 cm from the connection. At this rate, I will be spending a minimum of $63/year on charging cords. Yikes! Apple, I love your products, maybe even more than my kids some days, so please fix this. Oh... And while I'm putting in requests... Please make the cord longer too.

    Horrible Charger

The Charger already has broken and my iPhone5 is barely 4 months old. I am very careful with how I use it and still the cord stops working after a short period of time. I had the same problem with my iPhone 4 charger also when I had that phone. Apple needs to spend more time in making the chargers.

    Quality issues

Wiring problems that diminished the life expectancy of the cord.

    UBS cords

The USB cord are horrible. They last about three months and then you have to buy another one. The money that I spent on my iPhone 5 I shouldn't have to be replacing my USB cord every three months.

    Awful Product

This cable stopped working only three months after I purchased it. Apple's quality has decreased considerably since Jobs passed away.

    TERRIBLE

Cheap build quality, had the charger for 2 months before it would only charger at a specific angle and then a few weeks later stopped charging completely! The old iphone cables were built to last alot longer.

    AWFUL

What is the deal with these lousy cords? I got my iphone 5 when it came out and i've already had to buy two replacement lightning cords. I'm really tired of this, perhaps I should sell this phone and go with the Samsung Galaxy. At this rate I could have almost bought a new phone for the price of these cords. I had the iphone 3GS and NEVER bought a new cord for it. Completely shoddy workmanship or a plan by Apple?

    Dont buy it

I've purchased at least 4 of these since getting my iphone 5. They keep breaking or not working. Never had this problem with my iphone 4s.

    Horrible Product.

I've only been using this charger for a couple of months and it has already stopped working. Nothing is ripped or broken, it just stopped working. Apple has been nothing but a disappointment lately, can't wait for my contract to end and make the switch to Samsung.

Works Just Fine & Great improvement

With the many reviews of this product breaking, I can't help but say I have had NO issues at all with this cable. I have even stressed the charging pin by accidentally applying too much force to it while it was plugged in, almost bending it and breaking it off inside (it did not bend or break) and it still works fine with no damage. Mine is durable and great. Then again, I don't abuse or hulk smash my Apple products or their accessories like MANY people do. I don't think its the product, I think its users being careless, aggressive and irresponsible.

    Poor durability

the rubber outing tubing of my Lightning cable has started to come apart less than 6 months into use. It's quite disappointing that Apple has made it tougher like they have with previous non-Lightning phone recharge cables.

Lightning to USB - breaks lightning fast. A waste of £15

For £15 this is pure tat. Within three months of having the iPhone 5 the casing at the ironically-named 'lightning' end of the cable had cracked. then it broke loose, exposing the little cables and electronics beneath.
Finally, one of the little wires came loose so no the cable does not work at all - and I have to buy a new one.
This is appalling design and product quality control. The basic problem is that the connection from the cable to the phone is quite tight so it takes a little pull to disconnect it. But the cable casing has not been designed to withstand the force needed - so inevitably it cracks and comes loose.
The fact that Apple does all it can to prevent other suppliers competing with it and then provides such rubbish products reflects very badly indeed on the company.

    Bad product wires pull apart

It stopped working . The issue is the 4 wires are badly soldered and pull out of the circuit.

Very bad cheap workmanship. Got 2 months out of it.

Very bad look apple. Save a few bucks and turn people off.

    Awful

My daughter has had her new iPod touch for 4 months and we have just ordered her 4th lightning cable. Live too far from an Apple store to take the silly thing back and it is cheaper to buy new ones than to cover the travel costs.

Have also just bought an adapter so will see how long that lasts. Previous style of connector worked just fine and she had her iPod nano for 4 years and the cable is still intact.

Prob with new one is that the wiring seems to be really flimsy and it breaks at the lightning end. Have ordered 3 more just to keep us going - at this rate it seems like previous gen of iPod touch would have been a far better option!

Please fix this Apple since she loves her iPod touch and far too many people seem to have the same complaint about the same issues.

    This makes me hate Apple

I love my iPod touch... However it would be great if I could actually use it for more than a week before I have to buy a new lightning cable to charge it. I have gone through 7 (!!!) lightning USB cables in 2 months and each one the wires inside have come loose I do not have endless amounts of money to spend on these atrociously designed cables. One of my several cables actually fell apart this is how I know what gone wrong in each cable the soldering at the iPod connection end has come off and not with just one wire but with all four wires within the cable. I am normally a huge apple fan and I have nearly everyone of your products and usually recommend but I'm withdrawing my enthusiasm quickly and are severely disappointed with apple for putting so little thought in to the design features of this pathetic flimsy cable.
