    Extremely Short Life Span

Unfortunately, this cable has the shortest lifespan of any Apple cable I have ever used. And I have practically used them all. I am on the 3rd cable since purchasing the iPad Mini this past Christmas and I even used electrical tape and a plastic tube to increase the longevity of the cable. Sadly, this evening, the 3rd cable has malfunctioned. I will have to purchase cable number 4 tomorrow.

    Very poor durability

I've had this cable for just four months and I have to position my phone and cable just right just so I can keep it charging, which means I can't use it at all while it's plugged in without having to reposition it. I really hope they come out with a more durable cable soon.

    The Lightning Connecter is great

I dont understand the negative reviews. The lightning connecter is great. Its about time they updated that archaic 30-pin. I've had my iphone 5 since it came out, and i'm still on the same cable that came with my phone. Dont be a idiot and tear your cable in half. Thats a personal problem, not an apple problem.

    Not Impressive

I'll give it a three to be nice. I would actually rate it a two. I went to my friends house on March 10, (yesterday) and when I got home I found out that it broke. I got this charger in early November with my iPhone 5. It only lasts 5 months (about) so I suggest don't re-buy it. I'm planning to exchange it with my dad at Best Buy or a local Apple Store soon but it still charges. You just need to put the cord in really weird positions. So far theirs no possible way to fix this, but to prevent it, don't bend the charger where the small dock is. And pull out the charger buy the plastic outline. Or the docks. Not the cable itself.

Fantastic, never had a problem with the cable and Ive had it for three months now. The only two things I can think of is:
    1) Discolours easily
    2) not long enough.

Quality product by apple as always.

    Flimsy and poor design

The new lightning cable will stop working after only a few weeks! This is horrible! And judgin from the reviews, I'm not the only one to face this problem. This thing wasn't an issue with the old cable. I hate this cable.

    Lightning usb cable

I love the new charger how ever once con to it is I've had the cable for 3 months and I had to replace it already because the wire disconnected from the part that actually fits into my phone so if they could make a stronger cable or something that would be great

    sort yourself out apple.

this has got to be the WORST purchase i have ever bought in my fifteen years of living on this planet. i have bought 5 Lightning to USB Cable's in the space of 3 months. in other words, piece of rubbish. you would think that because apple is such a good company they would actually make something that would CHARGE your ipod/iphone/ipad instead of it breaking instantly, my recent Lightning to USB Cable lasted four hours, your products are not reliable in any way at all. you should definitely make some new sort of USB. i will stick to banana's from now on. i am now going to buy a docking station (THAT IS NOT APPLE) to charge my ipod because apple is this unreliable, if you don't put my review up you obviously just can't face the truth, goodbye. oh and i had to rate this a 1 star or it would not let me do it, so don't think for one minute i wanted to make it one star. YOU MADE ME DO THIS.

    Works, but shortly after fails.

I got my iPhone 5 on release day, and it came with the lightning cable..
Soon after the initial few weeks of using the cable, it began to fail, forcing me to purchase a new cable, which just today has failed.
I am for the first time disappointed in an apple branded product.
Apple needs to remedy this with a recall.

After 4 months say goodbye to your charger...

You gotta end up bendin the cord several ways just to get the dang thing to charge after about 4 months. I wish I never upgraded to the 5. What a terrible decision. And I'm sorry but it ain't worth 21$ dollars, if it breaks after 3-4 months. Change the price and fix this apple, you call yourselves a top company? Right...if I were a new customer, or repeat customer, buy multiple chargers or you're basically s.o.l.

2 months after i bought my iPod Touch 5th gen the cable became weak and bent and eventually stopped working. My sister got the same product for Christmas and 2 months after the cable did the same thing. she took it back and got a replacement for free but just 2 weeks afterwards it just stopped working. It doesn't look broken but it isn't functioning at all. I am not happy at all

I purchased my iPhone 5 the day it came out and I'm already on my third cable. When it starts to go the cable has to be bent in crazy ways just to get the phone to charge and eventually stops charging all together. I never had any problems with the old charges for iPhone and iPod I have tons around my house that still work from 5-10 years ago. Clearly people are having problems with the lightning cable so I'm not sure why apple hasn't made any changes to the design. It's awful ! :(

    Lightning to USB Cable

I prefer the smaller foot print of the new lightning connector as compared to the 30 pin connecter.... I like the positive connection and the fact that it’s universal so there is no right or wrong way to plug it in. However, there is a huge, huge, huge flaw with this design. With the 30 pin connector, you could grasp the connecter itself to disconnect the device. With the new lightning connector, it is so tiny, that you have almost no option but to pull the cable to disconnect the connector, especially if you use a protective case. So that being said, try as I might to be careful as possible, I am on my 4th lightning cable in as many months... They simply pull apart, and at $19.00 a pop the problem is adding up quickly.

    Absolute Joke !!!!!

I am on contract with Orange for the iPhone 5 i got the phone in October 2012. Everything worked fine, i was made up with the phone. Then i noticed the wire started to bend and crack around the Lightening connector a week later the cable became faulty and i had to wiggle it to get it to work. I came to work and plugged it in went to put my phone on charge and a sparks were coming out of the part where the wire meets the connector and gave me quite a harsh electric shock! Called orange today who put me through to apple tech support and they have kindly replaced it. So maybe you should give them a call instead of wasting your money on a product that is clearly poorly manufactured! A lot of people are let down by this, it's quite disheartening coming from a company who prides itself as an idustry leader! Pfffttt.

I wish there was another option!

I love the new design concept since plugging the old style ones in wasn't near as simple, but they are flimsy as heck! I have had every iPhone from the very beginning and every time I upgraded I just left the new cable in the box because I already had one. The only time I used a new one was when my dog chewed it in half! So thats 2 cables over many of years. With this cable I have already been through 6 since I got my phone in september! They have all done the same thing; first it just seems to have a bad connection or be shorting out but the cable looks intact and then within a day of that starting a hole or open area appears under where it connects to the phone. Please apple FIX this or give us another option because I can not continue paying 20$ for a new phone charger every couple of weeks!

Has apple realized how TERRIBLE these are yet?! They break so easily! right underneath the plug into the phone the cord breaks and stops charging the phone I haven't had the 5 very long, obviously, but I've gone through about 5 cords. That's almost $100 in chargers. Disgusting!
