Bought iPhone5 in AppStore in Switzerland. Brand new cable worked poorly then died completely. Look at Apple tech forum how many people complaining of faulty OTB cable. Never gonna buy anything from Apple again!

This item is the worst product ever! I'm sure i was not aware that I would have to go through 4 wires and now the charger has overheated and the top end of the plastic has melted and burnt onto my duvet, what if it was to damage the charging area of the iPhone 5? Not My Fault! I am not happy with the lightning cable, a new improved version must be brought out. And i am sure i speak for the majority of iPhone 5 users! Rubbish charger!

    Too short!

The cable has worked fine for me, with both my iPhone 5 and my iPad mini. However the major drawback is it is far too short!! Come on apple it's time you made a range of sizes so you can talk on the iPhone when it's charging, and so that you can charge an iPad in the car while kids watch films in the back.

    Works the doesn't

I absolutely love all my apple products including my Iphone5, but, the main issue is that the stupid cable only lasted me about 2 months and now i'm left with a dead phone. I never bent the cable or anything but for some reason it seems like the cable came loose at the end. Apple should make a stronger cable!!!!

I recieved my iPod 5th generation for Christmas. Everything was fine until February when my charger slowly stopped working over a duration of three days.
I bought a new one thinking it was just a faulty cord, now this cord has completely stopped working. I am so dissapointed in this product.
I love the design. The length could be longer, but it is nice. I wish that Apple wouldn't have focused so much on the design and worried about the functionality of the product.

Very disappointing. I'm having some problems right nkw regarding with this piece of ****. The end kind if crumpled, and it won't charge my iPad mini anymore, unless I push it, pull it, roll the cable at the back, and everything. This is ridiculous! Extremely ridiculous! I wonder what kind of materials are these things was made of. Or it's their ****ing rategy to push people to buy it.

    Works but Terrible Design

The cable works, and mine has not failed or fallen apart yet. That said, it stays on my desk most of the time and doesn't get heavy use. The design is terrible with regard to ergonomics. The USB end is small and rectangular with sharp corners, and made of slippery plastic. The combination of shape and material makes it very difficult to grip when unplugging. Whoever thought it was a good idea for something meant to be manipulated by a human hand to have sharp corners and no gripping surface should take a pay cut. Please redesign this cable to be more functional and less "hip design." It's a cable, it doesn't need to be a fashion statement.

    Bad quality

I got the iphone 5 the day it was released in Oct. 2012. I am now about to order cord #3 and it's only February 2013. If the cord gets bent in any way at any point in time, it starts going quickly. It's frustrating.

    Cable isn't worth it

Obviously the people with five start reviews have to be being paid to say good things about this cable. I mean maybe it is good for people with pixie fingers who don't have any sort of cover on their phone or ipad but for those of us normal people who want to protect their highly over priced toys this cable is junk. The sheath protecting the lightning end is already coming off on both my cables and I was fairly certain it should at least stay on for more than one use. Apple is only doing what all companies eventually do and that is make something cheaply so you have to keep buying a replacement after they have you hooked to the main item they are selling.

    Poor Quailty

I have lighting to USB cords both purchased in October. One pretty much stays at my desk, the other is used for my car (and sometimes in the house). The sheath on both chargers are already peeling away on both the connector end and the usb end. The car charger only works if you hold it. Apple has started making very poor quality accessories. This isn't the first cord from apple Ive had to replace. I feel like I am having to replace every apple cord I own at more frequent intervals. Get it together Apple. Really.

Love The New Design - Lightning Cable is Reliable and Works Great!

I bought my iPhone when it first came out and the lightning cables (2 of them) are still in pristine condition. I read some of the reviews where people are having issues with them fraying and bunching and not charging. I question how these people treat the cables. You do have to respect technology and have some very basic awareness about how to plug the cables in gently and not yank them from the wall charger. These cables should last for years if treated properly. Don't blame Apple for your rough treatment of it's technology.

I just got the iPhone 5 as a Christmas gift (2 months ago) and the cord is already scrunched at the lightening end and I have to hold it in some awkward position UNTIL TODAY to the point where it wont even charge at all! Apparently a lot of other people have this problem because when I went out to buy a new one, they were all sold out. I think this new cord was not a smart idea and I for one do not want to continue to pay $20 every two months for this.
