    absolutely terrible!

Two lightning cables have failed for me in the last month. I never had a 30pin connector fail once over the space of 5 years.
At a replacement cost of $25 this is highway robbery

    Disappointment :( REALLY WORST

APPLE PRODUCTs are named for good quality BUT unfortunately the USB cable for charging iPhones are really BAD. every time when we buy the new one it will start breaking near the connector neck in next 60 days. Very Poor Design and the cables are really bad. I don't know $20 is worth to get such poor cables from APPLE:(

    Poor

I have replaced this cable countless times, I am surprised with the amount of 1 star ratings on here
they have not done anything to sort the problem out, I have been extra careful with my recent cable
and oh look its broken again, one minute it charges next minute it knocks off, what an absolute nightmare.

Nevermind the fact ios8 has installed so much rubbish on my phone that I do not need and taken up loads of
storage space, I WAS a dedicated apple fan but my next phone will be a samsung I am afraid as I have had
enough of their products poor quality.

    Worse cable ever!!!

Im on my 5th usb cable. The end that connects to the phones keeps on getting loose. The wires protector is so thin that the wires inside they break apart worse cable ever!!!! We should be able to take them in to an apple store and get a new one for free

Never An Issue With This Cable

I have had the same cable since my upgrade to iPhone 5S 2 years ago. The cable and charger came in the box and have never let me down. I am reading through all the negative comments on here and having owned the iPhone 4, iPod, and iPad that all share the same wide pin adapter I think Apple went out of its way with regard to innovation to redesign the housing, motherboard assembly, and all associated peripherals that will run the new equipment with these cables. This cable is not as fragile as its predecessors. We all need to remember that they are not meant to be wrapped around fingers or just yanked out of the sockets or bent at angles that NOTHING should be bent at. My cable is going to last until I ipgrade to the iPhone 6, and then when I hand this phone down to my daughter it will be broken. Do I know why? Yes. Because my daughter is not careful with her electronics, falls asleep with iPad and iPhone in bed and cables bent awkwardly as she sleeps. Do I get mad? No. Why. Because the cable was designed for people to use per the instructions and though I looked, there was no section on protecting a cable from a teenager. Sorry, everyone, but some (not all) of us need to look at what we are asking these cables to do before complaining. Yes, I do understand that manufacturing errors can arise and affect a large amount of material and those need to be dealt with. Giving it 1 star for being too short? Cmon...

    Awful!

The one thing that lets the iPhone 5 down is purely the charger. I keep my things in excellent condition and within 6 months my charger broke. Not even had this phone a year yet, I've gone through 10 chargers. It's disgraceful, they are made so poorly. Very disappointed.

    The best connector out there...PERIOD!!

Even USB is now copying the Lightning connector. Fantastic design. Have been using mine ever since it was released, how many ever years ago. Works like a charm. Most of the people complaining here have never purchased or used it. They are just hacks from competitors, trying to create a false impression about this product. I would accept reviews only from verified buyers.

    The WORST!

I had my iPad Air for around 10 months (a very long time!!) and it just broke today I'm so annoyed because now my iPad is on 34% and I've NEVER had a problem with the 30 pin USB cable
My sister and cousins have the same problem as well I'm sure it's not the port that is broken but it's the cable

WOW Apple really good quality for a USB Cable !!!

Lost the quality side of its product.

Worse of the worse out of all the past USB cable by Apple. Just when you started twisting the lead to be more suitable on your coffee table or placing it on a table, after a while, the line under the plug will start tangling up, then self-splitting then reveal a bare thin wire attached within. If that cable is as available as the one before, I'd never ever use Apple one.

    The worst.

Poor quality. My charging cable has stopped working, and there are no tears in it at all, just a poorly made product.

Breaks much too quickly for the price

I've had my iPod Touch 5th gen since mid-June, and the charger worked perfectly fine up until yesterday. Looking through some other comments, I see I'm having the same problems as many other people (i.e. there is no power coming through when plugged into the wall, and computer gives a "usb device is taking too much power" alert when plugged into a usb port). So, in the end, this is a mediocre cable that only lasts about four months. For a price of $20 plus tax plus shipping, it's absolutely ridiculous.

    apple satisfaction

I used to be so emphatically pro Apple products but now I have been very disillusioned since the new lightening cable. I have been through so many Apple pods, pads, and phones with charging cables and no apparent abuse since some of them just sit in one area and do not get pushed, moved or bent. I try to keep one at home, one at work and one in my car
I have had all of them go out on me after a short period of time.
As much as I like the product, I will probably go to Samsung and bring my people due to this very common and irritating problem.
This never happened with the older chargers and my whole family and workforce at my company uses the new ones with same problems.

    Poor

It's really annoying I have a 5s and I have be through six lightning cables in the last 4months they can stay in my wall at home and not move and one day they will not charge, if your lucky you can play with it for 1minutes and make sure u don't move your phone a mm and you might be able to get it to charge ! Common apple we pay so much money for your product we deserve them to work!

    waste of money

I'm as well sick and tired of buying new cable every couple of months .
Best is when you connect iPhone at night-shows it's charging-and in the morning you late for work
    because phone was dead.Nice :-(

    Yet another dead cable!

When it first came out the lightning connector seemed cool, but it's proven to be incredibly unreliable. The port itself seems really delicate and prone to failure at the slightest hint of dust in there and the cables are just way too fragile. I've been through 4 official Apple cables now. Thankfully some of the third party ones are more sturdy AT A QUARTER OF THE PRICE.

Seriously disappointed at Apple's poor quality cables. When we pay £700 for a phone we expect a premium product, not this rubbish.

Sudden Death of Lightening to USB

So I had an extra Lightening cable for office - & what luck that both cables shut down simultaneously. A week before this happened I was getting warning signs & had to tweak the end of cable to get iPhone to charge. Worst thing is this happened just as I loaded iOS8.01 for my Iphone 5 - & now double whammy - My iPhone battery dies within 4-5 hrs with 3G & Data on but my cables fail to charge them well till today both cables committed suicide.
IS there any option to Lightenign able - My previous design cable for IpAD 1 & Iphone 4 are still working 4 yrs down the line !!

    Smoked and Burnt

For the price of this cord, I'm disappointed that today it started smoking where it plugs into my iPhone and burnt me when I went to unplug it quickly so it didn't wreck my phone as well. For an avid user, I really wish the cords worked as well as the rest of the Apple products I love.

is there something wrong with all of these other people? I have an ipad 3 and iphone 5. Both cables have had no issues and it's not like I baby them. Just finally got another because I lost one.
