Horrible Product- Needs to be recalled!

I have gone through more iphone 5s chargers than any other phone in my life! I purchased my phone in march of 2014 its the end of may as of now and ive gone through 3 chargers where they just quit connecting to the phone to charge it! I had the iphone 4s and that charger i had for 2 years with ZERO issues..doing the same things i am now. This product is HORRIBLE! My third charger just broke AGAIN today..I'm now going to purchase my FOURTH one. This is ridiculous! And im not the only one having this issue i have friends/family that are iPhone only users and their phones do the same thing with their chargers...

    Terrible cable

I had used the cable for few months and its just cracked like that and need to make a replacement on it. The phone is very good to use but why the cable quality so bad? really hope can make improvement onto the cable.

    Rubbish

Like everyone else who's reviewed this. I am also getting through these cables like a dose of salts.
I'm now on my 4th one - the connection twists easily and the wire come loose.
I will be buying a 3rd party one because I suspect it might be more robust than the rubbish Apple one.
Apple really need to sort out the quality of their accessories. I think they're focussed on cost over quality these days.
I have similar issues with the Magic Mouse (4 replacements so far) and Wireless Keyboard (2)

    Total Rubbish!

Now onto our third charger in a year and was blaming my daughter for pulling at the cable when using her Ipad while charging it! After reading these reviews about the poor quality I have had to say a big sorry to her. I've had the IPhone 4 for three years with no problems at all with charging it and was thinking of upgrading to a 5s but don't think I'll bother until his cable problem is sorted. Get a grip Apple!

You have to buy them, but they never last!

Ive been a loyal iPhone user for years now. I have had to purchase about 7 cords since upgrading to the new Iphone and they all break. I love the phone, but not being able to charge it, is starting to drive me crazy. I never had this issue with the older models.

    Break straight away

These cables are worthless, none of them work. Why did apple decide to replace the old ones that never had this problem?

If I could give this 0 stars, I would.

Everyone is right- this cable is trash. I'm on my second cable. Nearly burned myself because one of the slightly broken ones got super hot one day. Don't use your cables once the protective casing is cracked. Has anyone found a better option? I'm not buying another apple USB-lightening cord.

    Not worth the price

The one that came with my iPod Touch didn't even last a year. After that, I purchased two fakes and of course they didn't last longer than a month. I finally purchased my 4th lightning cord from Apple, expecting for it to last a year but apparently I was wrong :) The time you spent working on the fingerprint sensor for the 5S could've been used in developing your defective lightning cord. The $20.00+ my dad spent on this was not worth it. At all. I could've bought a lot of McDonald's burgers with that money.

I barely heard any Samsung users complaining about their chargers/usb cords to be honest, just to give you a heads up :)

I am tired of throwing away broken charging cables

When I first bought a lightning connection device I was upset they cost $19 each. But, I am now much more disturbed by how often I have to throw them away. It is amazing Apple can't make a rugged connector. I have lost count of how many cables that serve my family's five devices that have died. I am extremely careful with them but they keep failing. The 30 pin wires used to get so dirty I would have to periodically clean them. No lightning cable has lasted long enough.

Surprised it lasted 7 months from the reviews!

My original charger lasted 7 months which I very shocked about as my friends with the 5 or 5s chargers haven't even lasted that long! Was perfectly fine until a couple of weeks ago I noticed it wouldn't charge in certain angles then finally it completely stopped!! There a a crease of the wire at the top where it plugs into the phone but Can't tell any damage so obviously it is something inside the wire case! Apple please sort your chargers out and make them as good as the older iphone 4 and lower you've had enough complaints to sort this!! Going to try get a replacement on warranty as this is no fault of mine !! 3 stars becus it lasted as long as it did!

    AWFUL!

These cables are so terrible it literally puts me off buying an Iphone again! Considering the phone alone costs so much money - I am now having to pay more money to actualy charge the thing! Will certainly be considering a new phone by a different manufacturer in future!

Worst Design In History of Apple

If I could give it zero stars I would. The Lightning cable corrodes, rips, twists and basically falls apart very quickly. It is not a durable product and prone to fail far too easily with normal use. The free replacement program is hardly a solution when the entire purpose of the devices this cable is designed to power, is to increase productivity and improve quality of life. Repeatedly returning defective cables (and they are all defective) on a routine basis is a complete waste of productive time. This cable design is deeply flawed. I will not purchase another apple device that requires a lightning cable.

    Broken

I have spent close to £100 replacing IPod cables. The quality of these cables is absolutely appalling. It will work for a bit and then break on you. If I knew of any other place that sells good quality cables then that would be fine but every cable I try is of equally shocking quality. Poor show Apple, poor show.

    Terrible quality

I have two iPhone 5s, iPad mini and two iphone 5c's all cables but one no longer work. I take very good care of all my belongings and have taken extra precautions to ensure I handle the cables delicately to no avail. The cables are less than 1 year old so I will be setting up an AppleCare appointment but i am extremely disappointed with the quality of the lightning cables this far.

    Flimsy piece of garbage

Had 2 break in less than a year. In the same spot at the end of the lightning part. Definitely not worth +$20 dollars. Or $1 for that matter

    Absolute piece of garbage

I cannot believe apple has stooped to such a garbage level, unfortunately everything on my iPhone 5 works flawlessly, the cable itself fails within a month under regular usage. It is absurd that such a reputable, or was reputable, company would even sell such garbage and be content with themselves. As many have said this is the turn point for me to leave apple behind and hope it dies out after wasting so many peoples time and money, I'll be battling my friends to leave apple if they are on it aswell.

    Rating is unfair!!

I would like to rate this product a 0 but I can't. hence the unfairness in the title. I've had an iphone for 4 months and I have gone through 5 cables ranging from 9.99 to 39.99 each. The Apples' cable is just as bad as the chineese cheap brands off the internet. Some of the best cables for Iphone are those for Ipad, however, the plug can fit in if you are using a case, so you will have to remove the case during the charging. In summary, the cable is POS and the technology behind it is lousy as well. The only good thing, is the technology lives up to its name - lightning :)

    Awful quality

I've had the IPhone 5 since the day it came out and I've already been thru 5 cables. They are awful. The ends are to flimsy and after bending just a little they break. Why spend hundreds of dollars on a phone that you can't even charge?cables are worth $2. Not &$20.

    iPhone 5 charging cables!

I didn't have this problem until the iPhone 5. The Lightening to USB cables are of very poor quality! Our household has had two break near the connection to the phone. The plastic tube over the wires separates and then the wires snap! You need to find a better manufacturer for the cables!!! We are being ripped off on the ones you are selling now! You could begin to lose business given the number of complaints out here!!!
