    Poor quality for the price

I got this cable included with my iPhone 5 in March, so 3-4 months ago now?

It's already barely working, the cable is all crimped near the lightning connector end, it stops charging randomly when it's left alone and doesn't charge at all if you move the device around - and they want £15 for a replacement?

I treat my tech well, especially expensive tech like this - I expect better Apple.

    Still working

I got mine with my ipod touch 5th gen in October and it still works; as well as the ones that we use at work with the roofers who don't exactly take good care of the cables as they are kept in the van, get thrown onto the desks and are left on the ground then forgetting about them until they get rolled over on the chairs. All work with no trouble.

    Disgusted!

Can't believe that apple have allowed this cable to be given to us... Let alone sold again! Apple have really let me down and this is now my third replacement for the iPad mini in 4 months. What a joke.

    rubbish

worst charger, considering how much you pay for the phone the least you could do do is ensure accesories work!!!!!!

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars

    Sort it out

Is sick and tired of replacing the charging cable and think its about time apple did something about it now. The 1 star review is a joke and only gave it 1 because I had too

    Very Very Poor

As expected no improvement from the sustainability of the iPhone 4/4s charging equipment. For the amount of money the phone costs, sufficient charging cables should be standard. Had no less than 4 cables in the past 6 months, now purchasing my 5th. The cable is in the plug or rarely attached to the laptop (as can update itself with wifi) the cable is not abused in anyway, hardly moves and seems to be a wire comes loose and can maybe get a final couple of charges having to wiggle it around. Totally unacceptable.

    Same Problem!!!

I have exactly the same problem as the rest, both my girlfriend and I have the iPhone 5 and for my phone the charger has already broke near the lighting adapter. We are now sharing one charger but that seems to be having the same problem where we have t keep moving the wire in different directions in order for it to charge!!!
This is awful and as someone else's review says needs to be sorted out!!!

    Useless

Had the charger a few weeks then all of a sudden the charger started to come loose and would only work if twisted and turned in different directions then stopped working completely. I've had 3 and they have all done the same thing. It's really annoying and the fault really needs to be sorted out.

    Not good enough!!!

Like everyone else I have had 2 iPhone 5 cables break (one original and one third party). However, what I have done with both is when the hard plastic sheath on the phone end pulls back (basically the lightning adapter is gripped too tightly within the phone socket and causes the adapter covering to be pulled off) I have carefully filled it with araldite (epoxy resin) and carefully pushed it back into place. Clean it up with a cloth with spirit or WD40 and leave overnight to cure. I'm hoping this has fixed them as this will

    1. stop the sheath pulling off again
    2. prevent any wires inside coming loose as they are now encased in epoxy resin.

Job sorted. Hopefully. Though I agree this is appalling of any manufacturer, let alone Apple. Mind you, if you consider how their innovation and quality has dropped since the demise of Mr Jobs then I'm not sure Apple will be around for the next full decade.

    Another one BROKEN!

These Lightning cables are useless, keep breaking, really poor quality (considering the price) , stupid design. With something so fragile Apple really need to design a sturdier product.

    1 MONTH 2 CABLES

Why oh why did they change from the 30 pin?? I used the same cable for 5 years and it was perfect! Both my son and I got the Iphone 5 in April this year, both plug the cable into the mac to charge, it doesn't move, we arent rough with it both cables have broken. We are now using the adapter (another rip off) with our zephlin speaker absolutely ridiculous. I love apple products but unimpressed with the lightning charge system

    APPALLING!!!!

ITS SIMPLY RIDICULOUS. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH 6 OF THESE THE FIRST CABLE LASTED ABOUT A MONTH. NOW EVERY 3-4 WEEKS I AM BUYING A NEW CABLE AND TO THINK THESE ARE £15+ AND THEY ONLY LAST A MONTH. MY IPHONE 4 CHARGER CABLE LASTED ME 2 YEARS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS!!!
I AM DISGUSTED THAT APPLE WOULD MAKE SUCH A UNRELIABLE CABLE CONSIDERING THE PRICES THEY CHARGE

    Very poorly designed product

I bought two iPads for my teenagers at Christmas, these wires are the worst thing ever, like everyone else, wires are flimsy and loose connection inside no matter how careful you, we are onto 4th wire each, ridiculous, I have previous iPad with wider charger n no problem at all. Best of it is I ordered the previous ipad version but apple ran out of stock in nov and upgraded me the new version... wish they hadn't bothered!! Costing me a fortune in replacement wires!!

    Not happy

In our house we have 2 iphone 5's, 1 ipad, 4 ipod touch's, all which have the same charger cord as the iphone 5. After 3 months only one cord still works.

So angry! I hate this cable!

Had the 5th gen ipod touch since January and gone through 3 of these cables! all breaking in the same way as most people describe! do not understand how Apple can charge £15 for a replacement cable that is just going to break after a month or so! makes me so angry!!!!!! I was planning to get an iphone 5 when my upgrade is available but this is really making me think twice! I can't afford to replace the cables every few weeks! Ridiculous! Please improve these cables apple! :( Would give 0 stars if this was an option. Extremely angry!
