lots of negative reviews out there, but do yourself a favour and try this.

if you google earpods reviews, lots of 2-3 star reviews.

don't waste your time reading them. the only judge will be your ears.

i've tried at least 20 differnt types of ear phones. Some costing well over 200bucks.

Apple ear pods deliver the right mix of soundstage (3d placement of instruments), clarity, and bass, and sound natural.

Yes, they don't isolate. But isolation (via silicone pieces) also comes with that "compressed" head feeling that is very unnatural.

Yes, they could perhaps sound "muddy" to some. That's due to really nice midrange hump, which give it that super nice warm sound that people with tube amplifiers try to create.

Sound isolation: NO, instead you have sound you can listen to for hours.
SUPER TREBLE or SUPER BASS: NO, instead you have a very nice warm sound that sounds much more natural.

    Amazing Quality

I just purchased the new earbuds, and they have amazing comfort and sound. I played my music and it feels like the bass was pounding in my head and the clarity was great. Every aspect of earphones has reached perfection in these new earbuds. With the amazing price, I would recommend these to anyone.

Great sound, doesn't stay in ears

I only gave it 3 stars because the sound is amazing, but these new pods do not stay in my ears and I've only wore them sitting down. I can't even imagine trying to walk around much less run with them. I agree with some other reviews. If there was some type of silicone to keep the sleek plastic from sliding out of my ear, these new pods would be 5 star worthy...

5 stars for the new Earpods!

Love the new Earpods! Love the name, love the sound, love it all. The bass is really pumping in these little guys along with some really great variety of other instruments you probably would never hear in your music. I can't stop finding another song to listen to just to see how they sound. I'm excited for this! Worth the $30.00.

Don't Buy Expensive Headphones! These Work!

These are the BEST Earbuds I've ever heard!!! The bass is about as good as $200-$300 beats at a tenth of the price and offer terrible treble. Acoustics also sound great, not as good as Bose, but Bose don't really have good bass. With Apple you get the best of both worlds. They are also super comfortable. Mine came with my iPhone 5 but they sound just as good on most Apple products. All my friends who try it are considering buying them, DEFIANTLY WORTH IT!!!

    BOOM!!!

These new "Earpods" (which seems completely accurate), are the most comfortable ear form fitting earbuds I've ever had the pleasure of putting in my ears. It was exciting to watch two movies and listen to music combining to be about 6 hours worth of use, on these earpods and unlike every other earbuds I own, my ears weren't fatigued. It was fantastic! I've always loved the Apple earbuds, but even those made my ears sore after extended use. After being able to use them for a day or two of pretty solid use, I must say these are AMAZING! The bass is solid and powerful! I listen to a lot of metal and I love my bass to hit hard, and when I was listening to Machine Head I feel/hear a very definitive BOOM! With these on heavy bass hits! It was excellent!

    Lovely

I never had a default earphone this good. What Apple says is true. They sound as good as most high-end earphones. And they fit your ears better than the old one.
Bottom line is, the cost performance is impressive, just don't forget it's not in-ear so it does not isolates sound.

    The Best Earbuds

Just like everyone is saying, these earbuds are AWESOME. They are the best sounding earbuds I've ever had, which include Beats, Bose, and Skullcandy. The fact that they are only $30 is the cherry on top. Oh, and as you would expect from Apple, they have a simple yet elegant look to them. Bravo

    Great EarPods!

These earpods sound great and have a nice bass to them. Just be warned, don't put it too loud or you will go deaf! After an hour workout at the gym, my ears were ringing for 20 minutes after I took them off. lol.

As a worker of samsung earpiece development division

i worked for samsung earpiece development division for nearly a decade, devoting my life IN creation of better earpiece for our people. I've seen many prototypical designs with exceptional quality, and most (99%) of those earphones were rubber budded or rubber coated for noise canceling / louder bass / and FITTING perfectly.

i think the apple's earpieces problem is that it NEVER has given us a good earpiece that would sit tight on our ears that are not rubber coated.

so why wouldnt have apple made their new EarPod rubber coated IF THEY ARE CAPABLE OF DOING IT? i dont know.

maybe they had a covet deal with 3rd earphone companies not to monopoly the earpiece market, so apple only provide basic, inferior earphones to the consumers so the producers could make money.

but if apple really wants to compete in earpiece market as a company not for iPhone but earpiece it makes, then Steve Job's substitude shall consider the numerous reviews about its latest earpiece not fitting well in many ears and weak bass ( probably leak from gap between ear and the earphone

    Brilliant

Just love these. Recently paid double for in ear type and they were useless- think my ears must be the problem. But these are so comfortable and sound quality is first class. Well done Apple.

    Great Headphones

I am very happy with my Apple EarPods. They fit my ears perfectly, do not fall out and sound great. I have had many, many sets of head phones for my iPhone and these are my favorites. I can see where they would not fit everyone the same but, they fit me perfectly. Congratulations Apple on another great product.

    Bravo Apple

Apple gave its fans a decent ear buds finally! This is a significant upgrade from the previous ones which I never even took it out of the box when they arrived with my 4S last year. New ear buds are close to being perfect match for my new iPhone 5 in terms of its response to adjustment for EQ under Setting-Music. I turned on "Treble Booster", and heard immediate boost in treble. Mid range which barely existed in the previous models is the biggest improvement. Just listened to Shontelle and Christina Perri, treble is clear and imaging is decent.

In comparing to my Shure 215 and Sennheiser, bass is still weak, although it is great improvement from the past. However, at $29.99, this is the best ear buds at this price range under $100. Great work Apple!

    Awesome headphones!

These things are awesome! I've always preferred the Apple Ear Buds over any other $30 pair of headphones, but the Ear Pods completely changed the game. The bass is outstanding, and the mids and lows are excellent. You can hear notes that you never noticed before while listening with other headphones. All that for 30 bucks?! That's practically stealing!

New earbuds are a winner, but Apple Marketing should get it together!

Was very surprised in the performance of these ear buds. Sound is very good for the price, even better than my $99 earbuds. I have small ear openings, so the fact that these buds stay in place is amazing. Have not tried any activities to test their staying power but am very pleased so far. Why they don't come in BLACK is a mystery - white iphone = white earbuds; black iPhone = black earbuds - come on Apple Marketing get it together, we've been here before.

Better sound, but not comfort in MY ears

I have heard nothing but good things about the EarPods and after having my iPhone a week I finally busted them out to try them. The sound is noticeably better from the first couple notes, no argument there. But even though initial comfort is better than the old ear buds after 20 minutes I found my ear aching much like the older ear buds. I know nothing fits everyone but if you are thinking of buying these for your primary set of earphones I would suggest something with a silicone cap that seals into your ear without any ear to plastic contact because comfort is a close second to sound when purchasing earphones. As far as a included set for a phone they are great, but not worth purchasing as a replacement for existing earbuds. A step in the right direction Apple but would it kill you to add a little silicone for comfort?!
