    Awesome for this price point.

I own several pair of earbuds and head phones, from the Dre Beats Tours, monster turbines, and turbines gold pro, to bose in ear even the Monster Ncredibles but by far these are the best earphones I have heard at this price point. They sound better that the bose in-ear earbud and are far more comfortable. I am recommending these earpods to everyone I know. In my opinion you would be a fool not to take advantage of such awesome sound technology. The highs are crisp, the mid full and rich and the low are deep and solid. I am so glad I purchased these keep up the good work apple.

    Amazing sound. Lousy case.

The sound on these is simply amazing. So far beyond the old earbuds and on par with many of the aftermarket products. The fit is so good and the sound so clear that it actually blocks external sound just a fully sealed earplug. The only reason I don't give 5 starts is their plastic box. They had a chance to give us an easy to use, we'll designed carrying case and this isn't it. The wire fits so tight that the top of the box does not fit around it easily without poking wires in around the edges. Worse, yet, it doesn't snap closed, but is rather just a top that barely stays on and only if you have it tightly closed. How about a design that is easy to just wrap the cord up and get it into a pocket. This requires fumbling and it just doesn't work well.

    Big Surprise!!

I didn't have a problem with the old style headphones. Sure the sound quality wasn't spectacular but they were just fine for the gym. The problem is that the sweat gets into the volume controls and ruins them (my fault for sweating so much LOL). I bought these headphones to replace the last ones. What a huge difference!!! I don't need to carry my Koss on ear headphones anymore. These things are incredibly comfortable and the sound quality is superb.

If Apple can do this with a budget set I would love to see what they can do with a premium set. Same idea but with dual drivers. Please Apple, do that.

The volume controls are much better now as well. There is more travel in the buttons which actually gives you more positive feedback. Much easier to use.

My only gripe would be that the chord is rather thin, making it feel really cheap. It doesn't seem to effect the sound quality, it's just aesthetics.

These are a real upgrade to the normal earbuds supplied previously, they have greater bass and definition and depth and are very comfortable to wear. They look like cool outer space gear in a cool funky retro way!
Good value as high end heaphones are very pricey, so good work Apple!

    Best yet!!

Have had the classic ear buds and also purchased the in ear headphones, both had really good sound quality for the price but they kept falling out as I walked or ran. Received these today and I am blown away. They won't budge from my ear no matter how much I move and the sound quality is amazing. Easily as good as other brands I have tried which were several hundred dollars more. For 30 dollars these cannot be beaten.

Amazing Sound - A Real Improvement

I was a little skeptical that the new shape and materials would make much of a difference, but I was pleasantly surprised!

These EarPods actually have Treble and BASS. Another plus is that they don't hurt my small ear canals to wear them!

    Great job apple!

Well worth its $29, not for audiophile

I concur with many others, the new Apple EarPods win the < $50 headphone with mic segment fair and square.

The boosted bass and mid-range means it has taken the balance off from the treble and voice for a little bit.

Isolation from noise is the weakest link of this Apple EarPods.

But YES, if you only want to pay for less than $50 and wanting to have a pretty decent earphone with mic and remote, this is now the number one choice.

Don't walk -RUN to get these earphones

The fit is amazing - it effortlessly sits securely in my ears. The sound is excellent for its price - balanced without any cloudiness or sharpness. Best of all, it's priced well within reach of any former iOS device owner. An excellent product, Apple!

Absolutely astonishing! These are easily as good as, if not better than, my Beats which cost 5-6 times as much. They rest comfortably in my ear, and I almost forget they're there after several minutes. The sound quality is amazing, as is the ability to still hear my surroundings ever so slightly. And best of all- I can't hear my footsteps, something that drives me crazy with in-ear headphones. Apple truly has a winner here!

    New Headphones - Earpods

Better than I expected. What a nice surprise. Quality sound and comfort without a tight fit. The old earphones are a thing of the past. Waiting now for the iPhone 5 to arrive and the surprises the two will make together.

Sound Great, but not in the gym.

First off, audio quality is a 5 (I am an audio engineer by education). Keep in mind that the low end has good thump, but there is no sustained low end like a bass (You can't really expect this from in/on ear headphones anyway.) I actually listened to a few old favorites with huge grin on my face as it was a very good listening experience.

No on to why I rated these headphones only a 3. I was excited to take these to the gym and put them to the real test. Instant fail. These are the first pair of headphones I have owned that actually fell out of my ear. The problem for me was the right ear. The reason the right ear only is (I believe) the volume dongle. The weight of this is just enough to pull the earpod out of my ear. The other problem is that since the audio comes out of the side of the earpod, when it gets even slightly dislodged, there is a big drop in volume. Every 20 seconds I was pushing the right ear back in and adjusting it to try to even it out.

Overall I am very sad, because I love the sound quality and overall comfort of the earpods, but I primarily wanted them for the gym and they just didn't work for me. I think a fix for this would be if they had a tackier materiel on the earpod or maybe a cover that can go overtop to fit more snug into ears.

If this problem doesn't happen to you, then you have yourself an amazing pair of $30 headphones.

    Lousy for music

Sound quality not markedly better than their original buds, i.e. fine for podcasts, lousy for music (bass--not really bass, the low mid range that can pass for bass--a bit pumped, as advertised, but mids & highs v. harsh, as before). But they're easy to slip into a pocket and they do stay in the ear better during my commmute, and that's why I bought 'em.

Usage notes: the volume control works fine with my iPod Touch but not with my iPod Classic; also its perch on the right-ear wire (close to the mouth so it can also be a mic), means care must be taken not to tug/dislodge the 'bud when using--I use the iPod control instead.

My cheap Koss over-the-ear pads (with volume control on the main wire) are clumsy to pocket, but still first in class for anything but podcasts.

Very nice improvement over the old earbuds

I wasn't expecting an update to the iconic Apple earbuds. I'm pleasantly surprised by these. The bass response is significantly better.

Some reviewers complain about the lack of ambient noise blocking. For me, this is a feature - if I'm walking around, I want to be able to hear approaching people or traffic.

These seem to fit my ears pretty well. I was worried - I have yet to find in-ear headphones that will stay in my canal, and even the old earbuds had trouble staying in. No problems so far with the ear pods.
